Bayonetta Countdown Clock

Sega's website has a mysterious Bayonetta Countdown Clock. They've also released a free 8-Bit Bayonetta on Steam, which I'm currently downloading. What could it all mean? Here are the guesses I've seen knocking about:

Bayonetta on Steam
Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 on Switch
Amiibo and Smash Switch release
Bayonetta 3

Thoughts?

I know, but it's fun to imagine.

I would love a Switch release though, having the option to boot angels in the face any time any place.

When I saw the tease, I saw loads going Bayo's is coming to Xbox One and PS4 where I'm hear like Duh!

As we've have Platinum themselves say a million times go ask for Zelda for Xbox and Sony to put Uncharted on Wii U whilst you're at it for instance.

It'd make sense to get Bayonetta 2 onto the Switch... but I expect Crumpton's right.

Going to take a wild guess that it is a game set in the Bayonetta universe but starring Rodin.

It seems the reveal has been leaked, a nice 4K PC version launching on Steam later today. I'm only 10 minutes out though so I'll wait and see in case there's more.

EDIT: Yep, that's all it was. Bayonetta, on Steam now, £14.99
Still holding out for 1&2 on Switch. Doubt my PC will run it in a playable state.

Get it played, if you haven't, incidentally.

Gaming surprise countdowns should only be for the announcement of a completely new game, because people's minds flock to the highest common denominator when left unchecked. I'd say the industry will learn this at some point, but having seen some of its past practice, I'm not overly hopeful.

I think a Steam release of Bayonetta, and right as the countdown ended as well, not just an announcement, was probably big for some people. We just happen to be big Nintendo peeps so our minds went that way.

Still makes me laugh that non Wii U owners are begging for number 2 to be released on PS4/XB1 whilst I still have it sat on my shelf unplayed. Very Happy
