Catching up!:
Mario Kart Super Circuit - Definitely not the one I thought! I loved Super Circuit but yeah, I don't think the music is something I really recall. This actually sounds more GameBoy original than GameBoy Advance, but then it was a launch title.
Micro Machines - Bit too busy for my liking
Dark Souls 3 - Very intimidating, much like the game series. I can see how Taylor Swift helped, sometimes after losing a lot of fights you have to get up, dust yourself down and shake it off.
Ninja Gaiden - Damn you Mas, I was going to use the town theme from NG. Is this the Alma boss? If so, that is definitely a great pick. Probably the most frustrating boss I've come across.
Beat the Beat - Fair play for getting that far in the game. I struggled with the robot factory and that bloody baboon on the golf course! Such a great rhythm game but indeed, very frustrating.
Castlevania 64 - I need to check out the AVGN episode as he's often entertaining, but I think even at the time, a lot of people ignored this game. This does sound dark and punishing though.
Overcooked - I'm noticing you pick a chirpy tune each time, definitely a pattern! This gives me "American family going on a vacation" vibes, which I don't think is even a thing, but Overcooked does capture that chaotic comraderie in-game, that it creates out-of-game too.
Mega Man - I can see this, as most 8-bit platformers were very frustrating. Also, I've beaten Uncharted 1 twice, and none of the others! One of the few games I went through and collected everything - the music wasn't good enough to be in this challenge imo.
Sonic 3 - Good choice in not picking the underwater music, as that is genuinely traumatising. I don't think I ever played Sonic 3, but it did have some Michael Jackson involvement right?
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver - Do like this a lot. It's halfway Zelda, halfway Shenmue. Lots of transitions but always warm and homely.
Silent Hill 2 - Is this in game? Enjoyed this, bit trip-hoppy yet had enough spookiness to it. You won't get me playing Silent Hill 2 any time soon though.
Majora's Mask - I wanted to use the Ocarina of Time village music as it's iconic, but this will do nicely. More chirps!
Tombi - Was Tombi any good? This is perfect nod sideways and grin music - throw in some "Rare eyes" and you're good to go!
Day 21: Music you associate with frustration
Sonic Spinball can do one. This is the first level and I always end up with Sonic flying around for 30 minutes in an endless, pointless series of luck-fuelled "spinball". This music just annoys me the more I hear it.
Day 22: Music from a town or village
Shenmue 2's music isn't quite as great as the original's, but the representation of Hong Kong was impressive at the time. Each area had its own feel and style, and that came through in the music - Queen's St had the British influence so this was less "Chinese sounding" than the other districts. Probably the most memorable one for anyone that played it.

To answer those questions gJones.
Yes that Ninja Gaiden track is from the fight with Alma, thankfully some understood the frustration. The Silent Hill 2 track is from when you enter the bowling alley.

I'm a chirpy happy person as we all know. I try to mix in some good epic bombast (see: Buoy Base Galaxy), but... I like music that makes me feel happy I guess!
Toxic Caves sounds frustrating already! I've got a lot of time for that music though. I notice that this is the second Sonic tune for Day 21: is Sonic among the more frustrating series, people who've played it? I've got a huge amount of time for that Shenm2 theme, but from what I've heard Shenmue's gameplay is bobbins so it needs to have good other stuff anyway.
Proper Japanese village vibes from that Dragon's Dogma piece! It's always seemed like a dark game to me, an outsider; so it's nice to hear some cheerier sounding stuff!

Sonic doing pinball and sonic underwater - great music for horrible times!
I love the town music so far, although I currently can't listen to Buska's as it's technically a spoiler for me. Shenmue's music always seems right up my street (see what I did there) but I don't think I'd be able to sit down and play it.
My town
All's Well from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion This is what you hear going round the Imperial City, which is pretty much the first thing you get to after the tutorial, and is overwhelming in how big it is. Controversial opinion: dated graphics aside, this game is more interesting than Skyrim. I would like to clear this backlog of 1000 games so I can get start playing it again.

You'd be fine playing Shenmue, Jim as you play older games unlike Balla.
Not really sure what to do for today, that I've gone for a track which is just as good as the other MGS ones we've heard but because it's in Peace Walker goes overlooked.

Nah. Hydrocity Zone is more intense and stressful than frustrating, and Sonic Spinball gets annoying when the Sonic doesn't go where you hit him and when the level design falls off a cliff in it's second half. I don't think most of the games are too frustrating though.

Day 23: Underrated Music
Everybody's seemed to forget about this whole thing and it's brilliant soundtrack, so I'm giving it it's due today - the Getting Started tune on Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit!
It's disappointing that Labo didn't really catch on, it's too clever a concept for Nintendo to just leave it at that.

Day 22: Town/village music
I know Buska's taken Pokemon Black & White but this is from Pokemon Black 2! I like it much more than the Opelucid City theme from White 2. It's gotten stuck in my head many times.
Day 23: Underrated music
If you heard this theme out of the blue, I suspect you wouldn't have guessed it's from Learn with Pokemon: Typing Adventure on DS. It's intense! TYPE FOR YOUR FUCKING LIFE!

Maybe not underrated in this parish, but I feel like nowhere near enough people are discussing Nintendoland. It should have been Wii U's Wii Sports but nobody was ready. People are idiots, they deserved this year.

Should've asked me to check 'em.
Feeding back:
All's Well is properly classical stuff. Do I like it? Do I heck.
Mas' pick is properly Metal Gear stuff.
Cappa has likely got my pick of today. I'd not have been able to tell you a think about LABO's music despite owning it, and that's a good fun choice!
Very funky town (won't you take me to) music from Rum there. Pokémon has some belting town tunes! And then... wait no, this is my pick for today. It's a Kirby boss theme! That's a compliment. Good stuff! (Speaking of which...)
Nintendo Land is a banger. The cheeriest stuff. You could pick pretty much any Wii U piece for today...
On that note, I was close to picking the lovely Wii U settings music and its Gamepad equivalent... but let's go for an actual game, shall we?
Ideally, listen to this first: the standard battle music. Then this: where all hope is lost. And finally:
Go Kirby! I never really hear anybody talking about Kirby games after their release (apart from maybe Epic Yarn), apart from retro reviews and when it comes to scraping the barrel for music. This isn't scraping any barrels: this is one of the most epic boss fights in gaming, over three (actually four) phases against a being with the power of a god. The music is belting, and I love how the third phase does one of my favourite things: bringing back the game's theme at its climax.
If I'd been going for traditional covers for Day 19, incidentally, I'd have picked this! (Visual spoilers for the boss fight, incidentally.)

There's not a Kirby game out there that doesn't have (at least) a good soundtrack. Many are very good, several are fantastic, and then there's a handful which are, with hyperbole, amongst Nintendo's very best. Stuff like Bubbly Clouds (Dream Land GB), Meta Knight's Revenge (Fun Pak SNES) and City Trial (Air Ride GC) are absolutely masterful.
If I'd known that Kirby was underrated music, I'd almost definitely have gone for something from Kirby Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot.

It's underrated music, not music from underrated games. Although obviously the two can go hand-in-hand, there's plenty of great tracks from popular games that don't really get talked about.
That's why I've gone for the wonderful disco level from Luigi's Mansion 3, a game that was well-received but each time I've seen praise heaped on it, it's mostly to do with the Pixar-level animation and crisp graphics. This is right near the end of the game and remains one of my favourite parts (Luigi tapping his toe and whistling whilst hoovering up ghosts is just brilliant). I don't know how Nintendo made a funky breakbeat fit into a spooky cartoon, but they nailed it.

Why I went Peace Walker the game isn't underated at all but in terms of tracks and MGS series Heaven Divide certainly is underated when compared to Snake Eater and Sins of the Farther etc
Do think Nintendo Land was a underrated game though and likely be one of the few WiiU games not to make it to Switch.

I did think about picking the underrated Windmill Hills from the very much not-underrated music-wise Tropical Freeze, but I go on enough about DKCTF as a whole. I reckon that picking an underrated game means that the music will be underrated by default; and I can't think of a Kirby game that I would say doesn't go under the radar since the SNES days, with the possible exception of Epic Yarn. I'd say Labo is underrated, or underremembered, too though - maybe not in sheer sales figures, but in communities like this one you'd not see many people itching for another Labo game.
That said: I definitely wouldn't have thought to talk about that LM3 track, so it's all good. Definitely more emphasis on funk than tune, I'd say, although the remix of the Luigi's Mansion theme is rather fun.

This is Computer from Art Style: Light Trax. I really like all of this game's chiptune/dubstep crossover. This was a remake of the GBA game Bit Generations: dotstream, I've only just gone and looked up that game's soundtrack - well here's the original version. I'm not making a case for that original version.

Thoughts and feels:
Sonic Spinball had some great tunes, I do agree with Cappa about Sonic games not being technically frustrating but things like the underwater sections and parts of Spinball are as close as it gets.
Love the Dragon's Dogma and Elder Scrolls tracks, those are two games I really need to get around to as I know I'd enjoy them. Labo is funky as is the Luigi's Mansion track, good stuff.
The two Pokémon tracks really don't sound like they belong in a Pokémon game, I don't mean that in a bad way though, the Typing Adventure one is especially epic.
I was a big fan of Robobot but I don't think I played it with the sound on often, not because I don't like it but because I often played when commuting with headphones in for something else. Nintendo Land is a banger much like the game itself, I'm so disappointed that we'll probably never see anything like it again.
Day 23: Underrated Music
This could be a bad pick in terms of actually being underrated but it's not one I hear being talked about enough, I guess you're more likely to remember the 50s music that's played through the radios but the title music serves as a great introduction to a sinister post apocalyptic world.
Last time I rated...:
This from much maligned Wii lifestyle title Wii Music. The game isn't all that bad either if you go in expecting something that's more a tool than a faithful rhythm game, I also remember that the title music changed depending on what Instrument set you used last.
Day 24: Music you constantly have stuck in your head
So back on day 16 this was one I considered using until I came across something that provided even more nostalgia with the FIFA track, only problem is ever since I've had this stuck in my head. Nice cheery tune from a brilliant game that I'm hoping can get some kind of re-release after we had Lion King and Aladdin last year.
And it's still in my head now:
Even if it isn't at the front and center of my playtime like it was for so many months over lockdown. The music is so pleasant in this game and I feel like this was the one I heard most often, so chilled and exactly what was needed whilst the world was going to shit.

There's loads of potential for Disney re-releases in the style of the one Digital Eclipse developed for Aladdin and The Lion King last year. Some of those Mickey Mouse games would do very nicely on one of those compilations.
Day 24: Music You Constantly Have Stuck In Your Head
I've checked Balladeer's list, and I'm surprised that nobody's picked anything from this game yet. It's a tune I've genuinely had stuck in my head for years now, it's Click Clock Wood (Springtime) from Banjo-Kazooie:
More Banjo thoughts soon!

Oh boy, it's time to rag on Rum again! There's only one piece of any type of music that has solidly stayed in my head over time to the present day, and it's Undertale's Metal Crusher. I don't know why: it's far from the game's best piece, but there it is, still stuck there. Maybe a robotic song suits my walking around the office? Anyway, in lieu of that:
I know Rum and Smurf have both mentioned this absolute banger that got lodged in my brain shortly after playing the game, and occasionally bubbles to the surface. For all that I might try to mediate GJones' claim that I pick the chirpy pieces (although... Termina third day, chirpy!?), this is absolutely joyful stuff, and more often than not I'd sit through it upon firing up the game to hum along. 2020's finest gaming music perhaps?
A big big shout-out to Monster Boy doing much the same thing. Sillier lyrics, cut-scene thoroughly unrepresentative of the game's pace, and another tremendous intro tune.
Feedback:
Firstly we have a dub-step piece, which I was all ready to dismiss - but do you know, I think it's got a pretty good tune? It's not going to blow anyone's minds, but I could listen to this.
Smurf's 23 pick is the dramatic/ambient sort of stuff that we've already heard through Transformers and other games. I really get on with this, however much I think it sounds like another triple-A game trying to be a film. Got a lot of time for Wii Music's... er... music too! More chirp. I've not got quite as much time for Mickey - bleep bloop march. You could pick any ACNH piece couldn't you? I think I'd opt for 5pm. Might fire it up today, just to hear the cicadas...
Day 24... yep I reckon it's time for Banjo-Kazooie now. Absolutely banger, best of today by a large margin, I don't care what anybody else suggests; although I'm slightly sad that it breaks a streak of 23 days (I'm pretty sure) of Cappa picks I wouldn't even have considered. I'm keen on those 'more Banjo thoughts'...
I imagine the Cuphead pick is solely because you have to play each Cuphead level so often. I didn't like the start at all, but it is pretty nice and hectic once it gets going!

That San Francisco Rush track is funkalicious! My pal Matt is always telling me to buy a Dreamcast and SFR so we can have a bash on it.
That CHVRCHES song is fine.
Waluigi Pinball is good fun. Would have loved to see that track in 8.
I'd heard legends of the Outrun 2 soundtrack and I'm glad to hear it really is the business.
Mario Kart and Micro Machines are good songs, but those songs didn't flip my flop particularly. My MM memories are all from the PS1 and its horrendous soundtrack.
That Ninja Gaiden one is intense, I can imagine getting the ol' sweaty palms.
The Rhythm Paradise video is satisfying to watch but must be something else to play.
The Castlevania music is surprisingly good!
The Overcooked music was okay; presumably it works well in game.
I'm not as familiar as Mega Man 1 as 2, but that track is pretty tight.

Stupendous effort. The sonic low air music is the sound of death. That level tune is half-decent though.

That Silent Hill music is atmospheric but also pretty cool and funky.
The way that Majora's one takes the chirpy music and slightly fucks it really reminds me of Ben Drowned, so . . . *shudder*.
That Tombi music is nice
I kinda like the Shenmue music, but I really like the picture of Hobbes which the uploader has as his AVI.

Nah, it's actually quite a wacky and cheerful game. Sure it has dragons and the fate of the world and monsters and stuff, but this is closer to Dragon Quest than Dark Sousls, and made by essentially the Monster Hunter team.
That Oblivion one is exactly how I'd imagine the Oblivion soundtrack.
Opelucid City is a bit busy but nice enough.
HEAVEN'S DIVIIIIIIIIDE
I'd heard Labo had a good track while you build, now I know it.
Jesus that Pokémon Typing music starts like Blade Runner and ends like a Platinum game! Astonishing stuff.
That progression of three Kirby tracks is nice. I like the OG dancey Kirby theme, but I've not played enough of the boy's stuff to know much else. This is nice.
That Luigi's Mansion Scene was quality.
That Art Style piece is really nice!
The Fallout 4 theme has a real slow build but gets pretty epic.
I'm still not sure about my "stuck in my head" one. I need to wait for inspiration to hit, for it to be true.
