Pokémon X and Y (and Another Pokémon Poll)

If they introduce fairy type in the Year of Luigi, that'll bring all the rumours back out again...

I'm hoping for a fairy-flying type with cry "HEY! LISTEN!"

I'm just looking forward to all the chaos that will happen if Dragons are nerfed. On the other hand if the rumour is right we'll probably just see a surge in the use of Steel types.

Kyurem-B will have to calm the **** down for a start.

I'm sure Kyurem-B is already fairly calm, it's had months in OU now to know it's a bottom tier dragon the poor thing.

But some might say that it placing so low is... Outrageous?

Both Latias and Latios are OU by both Smogon rules and Pokemon Online rules this generation I believe, so the only people who would be against it are those anti-all Legendary Pokemon regardless of how good they are people. The power creep in gen 5 has resulted in both of them not being all that overpowering anymore.

And on another just general Pokemon note soft reseting for a good nature for Keldeo is really boring. I want my Deoxys but I forgot I hadn't collected my Keldeo from the event months ago so I have to get that first, and even if I can't use it online I refuse to have anything but a good nature on my event Pokemon. I get one shot at them so I want them to be the best they can be.

I'm just waiting for my modest Pancham.

Which is one thing I found weird and why I maintained I could use them as in the battle frontier where usually all the legendaries are banned Latias never was. And is why I stood up for my use of her

To be fair they were banned back in generation 4. So was Salamence eventually. Smogon got a bit banhappy with Dragon types there, I was worried they'd even ban Dragonite and Altaria by the end.

What's up with Leafeon's head?

I don't even recall ever seeing Leafeon in official art from that sort of angle and the rest of the gang is accurate so my guess is it's just the pose it's doing.

Crikey, Nintendo is holding a 90 minute meeting about Pokemon X and Y at E3. That's a really long time so maybe they'll finally be dropping the new type bombshell.

Also insert joke about a company who isn't at E3 having a 90 minute meeting here.

Im not a fan of Dragon types, too many resistances! I think we need to see some love for the poison type.

From the gameplay screenshots I'm seeing, I get the feeling that the Paris-esque town shown in the latest trailer is this game's Castelia (is that right?) City, in that it's a one-off town with the bags of detail and fancy camera angles the other bits of the game lack.



Still looks great, though. One presentation no-no is the use of 3DS's system font in-game, which is really, really boring. I always find (maybe it's just me) that the font used in games lends the games a certain atmosphere, and seeing Game Freak/Nintendo opt to use 3DS's system font is a bit of a cop-out.

I'm going to go with "not a big deal" on this one.

I'm with sporky here - that speech bubble does not look good to me for two reasons: a), the font is not right and b) the thing should not obscure the characters - put it in more of a subtitle-y position.

Hasn't every Pokémon game since ever had an option to change the message style anyway?

Yes. Let's hope for more customisation - if you can change your trainer's look, surely you can move the speech bubble to where you want it to be?

I for one like how detailed the other trainers look in this game, it's nice to finally see them detailed in the overworld.

Personally I'm hoping for the return of Youngster Ben. 3D comfy shorts...
