| Wow, the champion sucked! The actual Elite Four were tougher, and they did ko a few of my Pokemon per match at least. The water guy almost had me with his Gyarados once he started Dragon Dancing but then he stupidly decided to hit Azumaril with Ice Fang rather than Earthquake allowing me to bring him down to red health. And then in a sign of even more stupidity he kept using Dragon Dance the turn after he healed allowing Azumaril to continue taking him down to red. Then after running out of Full restores he finalled took it out, unfortunatly for him I was packing a Lucario that I've trained for competitive play, and that should be all that needs to be said about that fight. If he had actually played properly he would have run through my entire team like a hot knife through butter, but no, he has to instead throw his boosts out the window allowing a Lucario to come in and revenge with priority. I'm sorry if that sounds angry but the fact was I wanted him to do it. I wanted the elite four to actually be scary, it's not like I overleveled after all. I specifically boxed all of my Pokemon I had raised before the eight gym specifically so they wouldn't brutalize the Elite Four and it would be this big epic struggle, and then he has to go and play like a complete moron. And the less said about the Champion the better, why couldn't we have another Cynthia with a team full of terrifying and powerful Pokemon? Cynthia and Blue were perfect champions, and N was a perfect final battle. This Champ? Pathetic is the word. Bring a decent team to the table and the champ wilts. |

I've gone to the station to meet the professor, if that's what you mean? I'm guessing that just leads to Mewtwo? |

| There's a chap who's meant to give you a Holocaster call when you enter Lumiose. Maybe you have to have done the bit with the Professor first. I'm not sure.
And... no, I didn't have any problems with the champion either. My Aegislash may have Swords-Danced up and swept half their team, only to fall to a burn... and then I think it was Axis the Malamar who finished the job. Oh well. |

| Funny you should mention Aegislash because I raised one and have been left somewhat puzzled over the hype. I've been seeing a fair bit of hype for this thing and thought it would have a bit of impact on my team, instead my main player was Aquamouse the Azumaril and its devastating way of Play( ing) Nice with its opponents with Yveltal and Lucario finishing off the things that survive Aquamouse. I just don't see how Aegislash is going to be effective to be honest, its ability seems awesome but to have paper defenses with that speed just seems like suicide. Speaking of my Aquamouse the person who traded me this thing will probably never know, but thanks for the awesome Pokemon! It's cute kicks backside and saw me through to the Elite Four, so thanks whoever you are! |

| Here's the thing: King's Shield acts like a damage-only protect that puts it back into defence form. So set up with rock-solid defences, change out to attack, then King's Shield back. Of course there's prediction involved, because if the foe sets up or statuses you when you use King's Shield then you're in trouble, but the ability to switch practically at will between Deoxys-D and Deoxys-A (minus the speed, but hey - Shadow Sneak does a fair amount of damage after a few Swords Dances) is what's caught so many eyes.
I may well use an Aqu- I mean Azumarill should I run another playthrough. Well, that or a Gardevoir. Fairies are pretty great, all told. (Which only adds to Aegi's appeal, of course.) |

| I see, once you put it like that it does start to sound pretty good. However I still can't help but think it's possible to set up on with the right Pokemon, something that resists its stabs and has a good priority could slaughter it if the person is too predictable. And yeah, Azumaril is awesome, just make sure it has Huge Power and you've got a fantastic Pokemon on your hands. I didn't even ev train it and it still ended up destroying a lot of things. |

I've gone to the station to meet the professor, if that's what you mean? I'm guessing that just leads to Mewtwo? Funnily enough I was stumped as well. It turns out you need to participate in the Battle Maison (I simply ignored it and took the train back to Lumiose) first, then battle your rival who will then show up north of the Battle Maison. The rest then unravels from there. |

| I'm on victory road, what's with terminus cave totally missed it but see it on the map, and some city in the bottom right corner which I've not been to either. I know there's a few things after victory road to do like get mewtwo, not sure if I'm going to use him I drooped my T-Rex for the Deer, not sure if I want to drop another for mewtwo. |

| Does anyone need about 7 boxes of Squirtles? I have spent all day breeding them trying to get a shiny one and I finally did it. I didn't even notice it was shiny at first because the only difference is it's shell which you cant see when they hatch so I just dropped it in the box where I almost left it before noticing a tiny red star under it's type |

| This has been out a week and for some reason I only just got around to getting it ordered. What's even more baffling is that I still know absolutely nothing about the game aside from a few minor details and some words with no meanings... |

I'm still not quite sure on that one. I did some dowsing, and didn't turn up anything interesting, none of the houses seemed to have anything major... (shrugs) |

| Yeah I wandered around and didn't find anything so I gave up, and had only just realized that if I talked to the breeder again at route 12 I could have had my Lapras a whole lot earlier then now.. |

| There was a note from the Professor to his future self near one of the pillars at the train station with a Poke Ball near it, I assumed it was that.
Have I got everyone here on my 3DS friends list? I need more friends for the Friend Safari |

| I beat the Ice gym last night and then spent the rest of the night catching more Pokemon and leveling up Lapras to where the rest ofmy Pokemon are, well around the 60's level not 80 like Sylveon.
I want to at least beat the league by Thursday when Phoenix comes out and then after that I'll start on X.
May even breed a few Pokemon to see if I get any shiny hatches like a few people have had |

| I hear IV breeding has been turned in to something really easy this generation. Either way I was originally going to wait until I could migrate my old Pokemon over before I started but it turns out the Friend Safari Pokemon all have at least two perfect iv's so after a few days trading Magician Braxien's on the gts I now have a Ditto with every IV. Speaking of Magician Braxien's I got ridiculously lucky on Wonder Trade the other day and had someone send me a Magician Fennekin so that's allowed me to get my foot in the negotiating door on the gts.
As of right now I'm chain breeding Fennekin's until I get one with a timid nature and the right iv's, and I'm leveling up the rejects to send on the gts in exchange for Ditto's that I then will trade with people on the gts for Pokemon that hopefully have their hidden ability. Before I started this break I finally got myself a Protein Frogadier and I'll be resuming shortly.
All up right now I'm in love with these games, and I'm also happy there aren't any hacks around yet as it makes things like Wonder Trade and the gts so much more worthwhile. |

| This generation certainly seems to be making it easier for people to go competitive, with IVs and EVs both simplified. There's been obvious evidence of implementing more balance into the system too: fairy-typing to balance dragons (and steel losing two resistances) are obvious ones, but things like powering down the major elemental attacks, upping certain stats. for old Pokémon, Defog removing hazards again to counteract Stealth Rock's presence, etc. etc.
Not that I competitively battle at all, but I do find the scene interesting to follow. I'm currently taking bets as to when Smogon will ban MegaGengar. Anyone? |
