You all keen for doing this for this year's Football World Cup in a few weeks?

I tried to find a picture of the host nation that was chosen through a no doubt fair and just process and not for big bags of cash, and that doesn't have any human rights concerns at all - but all the pictures I found were disgusting! How strange. Maybe I was spelling "Catarrh" wrong.

There’s a lot of folk I know who are seemingly boycotting everything to do with the World Cup. The work’s Euro 2020 sweepstake had 145 people take part, but the 2022 World Cup only has 37 signed up. My office weren’t interested in one either, even just for a bit of fun.

I'll watch the England games if I can, and won't be able to help myself from feeling emotionally invested, but I feel icky about the whole thing.

You reckon because it's in Qatar or a winter World Cup in the middle of a league season? As a City fan can't say much about Qatar, then all the other clubs be it Newcastle or a Arsenal with all their sponsorships etc

Qatar. Man City and Newcastle are horrendous sportswashing by heinous regimes. This world cup is on a different level - this is an actual heinous act by such a regime. Slave labour built those stadiums. People died. Everyone at FIFA knew it would come to this but they took the bunts.

Yeah, I'm kind of out of this - I really don't care too much; it just feels like a completely different situation from earlier in the year with the Women's Euros, where the game took a massive positive direction. I know it's not fair on the players themselves but...

Every team at my work has been given a different team for the World Cup, so I've been essentially been forced into a sweepstakes of sorts although I've no plans to actually take part in anything involved with it, especially as we've been given - I shit you not - Saudi Arabia.
