Did you fill your bank account up to the max? There's only a 4500 limit for a reason...

Tbh I feel like the bank system isn't worth it, not only is it in a weird spot on the map (should be in dirtmouth tbh) making travelling back and forth to it slightly annoying but later when you start picking up those little trinkets you can sell you can just save those up for when you really need high amounts of geo & if need be it's not hard to farm for if you equip the right charms.

You are totally missing out if you don't use the bank, and it would spoil it if I told you why

Hmmm....I did use it early on but I've not been back to it for a while I guess I'll give it a look.

I've been back and now have about 1500 geo in there.
----
On my Hollow Knight adventures I had a pretty rough time of it boss wise where I had the option to fight 2 but both could very easily kill me if my concentration slips even a little bit. (I think I'm due a nail upgrade as both seemed a bit tanky)
To the Rad spoiler mobile.
Boss 1 :
The return of Hornet in Kingdoms edge
This took a little over an hour until I decided to swap my charms about a bit, the main ones I used were Defenders crest, spore shroom and grubsong so when she followed me about I was doing tick damage then when I got time to heal I'd be releasing gas for even more damage alongside my nail attacks.
It still took about 10 or so more tries as I got used to positioning myself so she'd follow into my poop cloud, despite the trouble I had I still enjoyed this fight.
Boss 2 :
The lost "bastard-ing" Kin
Nothing worse for me than a boss with adds, I wasn't really keeping track of time but this felt like it took way longer to beat than the boss above, I got used to his move set pretty quickly but the bullshit orange ghost things would fuck it all up 9 times out of 10. The defenders crest came in handy yet again though as it'd one shot the ghosts and give me more time to attack.
Really wasn't a fan of this fight at all, and I hope there isn't any more fights like this still to come.

Too late, spent all my Geo on nail upgrades.
I didn't have problems with boss one, I have to say. Don't think I even died. That is a good charm combination that I've used a couple of times myself!
The second one, though... argh. Stumbled across it by mistake. Noped the heck out of there.

Hell, I tried the Failed Champion, thinking it'd be the easiest source of more Essence. Ha ha ha...

Even with nearly all the items and upgrades, I still struggled with this one.
As for Jas's two bosses, I had no problems with the first boss, but I think my charm setup made most bosses simple. If you're struggling and you've got the slots, I recommend Quick Slash, Longnail or Mark of Pride, Quick Focus and Grubsong. Quick Focus is the best charm in the game by my money.
The second boss was a pushover once I realised that Defender's Crest trivialises the tricky bit of that fight. To be fair, he's super optional much like Balla's spoilered boss so it's meant to be a tricky encounter and there's no backtracking after each failed attempt at least.

I've read that there's a cheap method using
Charm:
Weaversong and hugging the walls.
Otherwise I'd probably try and DPS it if I tried it again.
Anyway, I'm done! Kind of. Good game! Did enjoy. I like exploration, for the most part, and this game has oodles of ambience. Good final boss too, although the one just before it (in Fog Canyon) felt a bit too easy.

I really hope you do some of the optional true ending content! I want to talk to someone about the Path of Pain...

Path of pain isn't even true ending content, it's entirely unnecessary

I brought up the Path of Pain as you access it through a true ending area. It's easily the biggest and most fulfilling challenge I've faced so far in the game. I properly punched the air after clearing it.

Yes, buuuuut...
Spoiler:
...it's platforming. HK's platforming isn't bad, but after Celeste I've had enough of rock-hard platforming. Especially when it doesn't have Celeste's gorgeous trappings behind it, or Celeste's tight-as-heck controls.

I'm not doing the path of pain because the game's health system is not built for a twitch platformer where you die repeatedly. The white palace was bad enough with me waiting for my health to regenerate so that I didn't have to worry about game overing.

Tweak your charm layout and that issue goes away - I was using Hive Blood (the charm that gives you the regenerating honey health) and Grubsong so I was able to keep moving forwards with no problems at all.

I've heard dozens of people, on this forum and outside, praising this game. I really want it now! Oh God, I'm like Slowpoke in that old meme. I'll post on this topic in about 2 years, when no-one can remember the game at all...

You should get it! From what I know about your gaming tastes, I think you'd mesh with it really well Jimmers.
Besides, I love reading about new experiences with the game and seeing folks progress through Hallownest.

I tried mate. I tried. And I didn’t not enjoy my first hour with not!Banjo-Kazooie. It’s just... it felt like a big game, and like there were better ways for me to invest 20h+ of my life.

I'm usually like this with Metroidvanias as well but since beating the final boss I have pried myself away from it so I actually get to play other games for the next month or so.

I've not used this thread as I've been quietly playing it here and there but I think I'm at the stage now where I'm gonna get a bit addicted to it. My play sessions are getting longer and longer and the challenge feels like it's kicking in quite a bit more.

That happens. It happened to me with Metroid Prime too. Suddenly, a game I had to push myself to continue with is a game I can't drag myself away from in the evenings...
