| A bit further with this now. Like every From game after the first Dark Souls, I have absolutely no idea how far through I am. But I've unlocked a few skills recently which are like the "oh wow now I can go to that place which I couldn't go to" - and I'm surprised how many levels of that there have been.
I've got no fucking idea what's going on though - I just like running, jumping, finding pieces of candy, bashing bad'n's. |

| Yeah, the early to mid game where you're unlocking a steady stream of powers is ace - Metroidvanias really shine in my eyes when you have that eureka moment of how to access a previous area. |

| Uh-oh, early to mid... I thought I was nearly done with it! Another positive - PS+ gave away the big-o-version which has all the DLC bundled into it, and it's nice that the additional content hasn't interfered with the main game too much, as they can sometimes do - although maybe - Spoiler:
I understand the dreamgate thing was an add-on - and now I've got that, I'm essentially save-stating every new room

| You probably are nearly done with it to be honest Jim - I did bloody everything in that game on my first time through.
I've not actually played the DLC though, so that'll be something for me to check out on PS+ down the line. |

- Guys, I've just finished Hollow Knight. Now that's the way to do a Metroidvania. I can see why everyone's looking forward to the sequel, even though I got the "bad ending" I think. The only confusion I have: why does everyone like that Hornet character? You only see them once in the whole...

Ah shit hold on a sec, back in a bit
Okay, maybe you actually were in the early to mid game after all... - I never:
went to Kingdom's Edge - I don't think I did any sequence breaking, but I could get to all of the three mask-y lads without going that way.
Well anyway, I've done that bit now; I have a new ability that'll allow me through another weird obstacle (I think) and I know there's one other whole big area I've not got into yet. So, still going! |
