I gave Vice: Project Doom a go, but I didn’t stick with it for longer than a few levels. At least from what I played, it didn’t stand out from Ninja Gaiden or Shadow of the Ninja. If it’s as weird as you say, I’m convinced to try it again though.
While those “last retro game you blahdy blah” posts make up about 80% of my word count here, I’m similarly not bothered enough to type anything up for the last NES and SNES Online games I finished. Star Solider on NES and Joe & Mac on SNES were both pretty good though. They were quick to beat, overall good fun and much better balanced with the save states, they’re worth anybody’s time.

Guys, I just finished Vice: Project Doom on the NES. It's a bit shit but also cool. Did anyone else ever try this?
EDIT: Also, I've managed to avoid the general terribleness of 2022 as suddenly I'm almost 100% sorting out house/finance/pension things. It also means that I'm losing concentration on things in the short term, and rush things a bit sometimes.

Looks like Nintendo are front-loading their N64 Online app with the best games, presumably to drum up interest in subscriptions. Banjo-Kazooie today and Majora’s Mask in February might lead to stuff like F-Zero X and Pokemon Snap in the near future. They’ll already have your money by the time they start padding out the service with Knife Edge: Nosegunner and Virtual Chess 64 in 2026.
Love the arse off the N64 as you’ll all know, but Majora’s Mask is the last of the system-definers that I haven’t really gotten round to. I’ve set myself up for this before (got it on N64, got it on 3DS) but on Switch is where I’ll commit to playing it through.

Never ever got on with Majora's mask & not sure if I'll have the time or even want to play it here, I also think it's a bit of shame they didn't break up two big single player games in Paper Mario & Banjo with an F zero or Pokemon snap.

I bloody loved Majora's Mask on 3DS. I understand the N64 is lacking a couple of quality-of-life changes, but it also has an atmosphere which the remake didn't quite capture.

I've only ever finished the remake of Majora's Mask so I'm kinda looking forward to going back to the N64 version. Surely March's addition has to be Kirby 64 right? They could also save F-Zero to coincide with Switch game and have that be the Smarch addition.

I've had Majora's Mask in real life... playing VICE Project Doom. I didn't realise I managed to ask that question 3 times. But it is a relief to see that the three N64 games after the initial bundle are all big-hitters - we haven't yet hit Bombuzal territory...

I'm hopeful that F Zero X will make an appearance on it, and soon. Maybe around Easter time. As for Smash Bros, I'll hedge my bets that it'll hit the service in the summer.
Also, since there are third party titles on it already, I'd quite like to see Snowboard Kids. Sure, the controls were a bit janky but it's still one of my favourite games on the N64.

Now that I have Babjo-Kazooie back in my life, my only real wish outside of the rarer games I've not played is Snowboard Kids, I have so many good memories of that one.

Yep Snowboard Kids would be the thing that actually made me make use of my Nintendo Online sub. That or a bunch of other games we'll never ever see (hi Rocket: Robot On Wheels, how are you? Perpetually absent? Good good).

That’s either the cleverest and most niche N64 wordplay that anybody’s ever made or sheer coincidence. Ball the same, we should all be very afraid of hitting Charlie Blast’s Territory.
You thought Bombuzal was utter mince in 2.5D, aye?

That 'game' looks properly awful. What did it get in N64? I presume 50 or below?

Close - 52% from Greener!
This was a really rare instance of seeing an N64 game on the shop shelves before ever hearing about it. It was just there one day in Electronics Boutique all of a sudden. There were no previews, no adverts, no hype, no reviews, simply nowt. It’s totally understandable why, of course.

That reads like a sub-fifty review to me! Greener being kind with his numbers there. Gosh darn it I miss that magazine though.

What's weird is that it's just a reskin of an old PSone game, which itself was a sequel to a isometric platformer that had absolutely bugger all to do with Bombuzal. Anyway, that's enough Charlie Blast's Territory chat for...ever.

NSO has got a update where it now has missions like what was on 3DS/WiiU where you login get 5 Platinum points.
These can now be used to get new icons, hopefully means themes or something coming which we can buy with the platinum points.

I'm not going to talk with Buska about numbers since I suspect that would end badly, but I will say that that's an immensely Cappa profile picture.

I’m happy to see that there’s new ways of earning Platinum Points. I didn’t think there were enough ways to do that in the past, it was quite slow to save points up. I’d rather save those Platinum Points for the physical stuff that comes up on My Nintendo though. Some of it is pretty brilliant. I’d have gladly have paid money for those N64 posters that they were offering earlier in the year.
On-topic, I’ve made a start on Majora’s Mask. It’s maybe the last big-name N64 game that I’ve not played much of, at least of the ones that are highly regarded among the console’s best. It better not be pish after waiting 22 years to play it.

I like Majora's Mask a lot, but it's definitely not without its flaws. There's a lot of creativity and inventiveness on display in regards to the sidequests - which you should definitely check out - and the mask powers, but the time system can sometimes get in the way of the big story dungeons and I think the N64 version has an issue with the save system too. Mind you, that won't be a problem on NSO with save states being a thing.

I can absolutely see Cappa getting fed up with the time system and the amount of talk in MM, but I've been wrong before. Deeply, badly wrong.
