| First up this week, it's Mario Kart 8's entire soundtrack! No I'm not going to listen to it yet. Want to keep it fresh for in-context playing. GNamer's Beaten By Buska Music Week 95: So I was going to do Skyward Sword this week, but Drunkalilly kind of beat me to it, doing so much more comprehensively than I would have done. If you still care about what I have to say, it's in the spoiler below: - Spoiler:
Ballad of the Goddess: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4ReyoNpyrM I even shamelessly copied the picture. Yes, Drunka's favourite is mine too. Who knew that Zelda's Lullaby backwards made for such a great piece? This is actually the 25th Anniversary CD version, but it's also great when Fi sings it, on the harp, or even in ALBW's Milk Bar. His second favourite is also mine: Groose's theme. It's another piece that goes with everything.
Instead, you get this: Samurai Blue, Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewdB63XIVLk (Original) Great song, all the better for not being able to understand the lyrics (especially because it's a - shiver - football song). Mad and Japanese, unlike EBA, and all the better for it. Is there a sad one, you ask? You bet there's a sad one. |

| You should bring back that lad from last week, he put up way more songs Seriously though, I need to get on Ouendan. I loved EBA and literally everyone says the Japanese one is better. |

It's still only 3rd to Three Lions and World In Motion, mind. Ah, can you imagine playing EBA to John Barnes' rap? |

| ...Not sure I want to, to be honest. Also, you're wrong, Drunka - I put up an entire soundtrack! GNamer's Beaten By Everyone Music Week 96: Special Move Themes, Bravely Default: In-game (vocalised) You Are My Hope (Bland Shepherd) Wind's Course (Pious Waif) Love's Vagrant (Amnesiac Pervert) Baby Bird (Principled Teenager) I love the special themes to bits, and couldn't possibly choose between them. (Okay, Baby Bird possibly edges it.) They even have live versions, which are also great! And to show how hard it is to make a choice, Wind's Course takes over as my favourite among the vocalised versions. As for other actual in-game music, there's some great boss music in there. Serpent Eating the Ground and Wicked Flight have both been mentioned numerous times, so I'm giving a shout to the Ba'al theme. Creepy children singing? Piano segments that remind me of that bloody piano from Big Boo's Haunt? 1:41 in general? Yes please. Even creepier when you see what you're facing at the same time... - Bonus Boss Spoilers:

| Would have had more to say but haven't played this one yet. Got it into my head that I should compete the demo first but that now feels like a terrible idea. |

| I've never played the demo. It sounds like it's a good thing too! Anyway, I'm not surprised about that week not getting many comments: most people who've had something to say have said it already. No such excuses this week, though: GNamer's Great Xpectations Music Week 97: Green Plant, F-Zero GX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRgLto4DAQg I still occasionally have nightmares about the story mode. Then I feel sad that the game never got a sequel. Then I turn on the techno-ish soundtrack, and little by little I feel a bit better. This is a favourite, although I couldn't put my finger on why. I did like the scenery for the Green Plant tracks, though. Also, I prefer GX's new Big Blue theme to the classic one. I know, I know: burn the heretic. |

| I find the F-Zero GX soundtrack to be a bit too over-embellished compared to X. I prefer the simplicity of X's soundtrack. So yeah, burn the heretic. |

| I didn't really like the special move themes from Bravely Default. To me they sounded a little too much like 80s TV show theme songs. |

| I haven't played as much f zero as I'd have liked, on account of not being particularly good at it and my friends always preferring to stick Mario kart on. The music is amazing though, and if we were treated to a new one, I'd try and get into it. |

| Oh, I was hopeless at it. I got as far as I did in GX solely through use of a cheat disc given away in ONM... that eventually bricked my game. |

| Tune in next week when I'll be announcing a game based on my country's cultural norms in a territory where they're unacceptable. Perhaps a game featuring copious amounts of gay sex in Russia? |

| Apologies for my continued attendance of this forum. GNamer's Puzzling Music Week 98: Layton's Theme, Professor Layton and the Curious Village (live version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--gMYXgixR4 This was going to be Layton vs. Wright week, but the game disappointed me so very much, and the best piece from it was its version of Layton's theme anyway, so there you go. (Despite the AA games having the better soundtrack on the whole. Go figure.) Anyway, this is cheating a bit (in keeping with my general behaviour ), because it's the live version as opposed to coming from the game proper, but the game proper didn't have a decent extended version. Here is the non-extended game proper version. They're very similar. (And since I'm not going to do a PLvPW week, I'll say here that this made me rather moist-eyed.) |

| I'm currently playing through PWvPL and loving every second, but we'll discuss that at a more appropriate time. I never really got on with the accordions of the Laytonverse. Here's Wind Waker's ocean theme on an accordion though. Could listen to that all day. |

| I'm afraid I was concentrating rather more on the man's appearance than his accordion playing. |

| GNamer's Really Very Relevant Music Week 99: Rainbow Road, Mario Kart 64: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2vA6Dngzhs The one that inspired all the others, from DD!! onwards. Therefore, the greatest piece of music in any racing game, ever. Oh, and... this. Unlock all the tracks before you listen to it, now, and come back next week for Week 100! |
