Where were we? Ah, yes: Pikmin 3 will be a return to the original's strategy roots, with time limits and stress and all that stuff.

I like both Pikmin games very much, but I prefer the second as it's largely a stress-free experience, as I feel computer games should be. Not doing cartwheels over the direction Pikmin 3 looks to be taking, I must be honest...

I'm with Phillips on this one. Pikmin 3 was going to be the game to make me buy a WiiU. Now? Not so sure.

To clarify, Grumpy Cat's grumpiness is directed at the more stressful style of gameplay rumoured for P3.

I have a feeling it won't be as stressful as Nintendo are making it out to be.

To be honest, I'm most worried about how effectively this game is going to push its host hardware. As it stands, I'm not sure it's going to be doing much of that.

And I must try and fix that ten character minimum. That's just daft!

Great news! Much as I enjoyed exploring at a leisurely pace in Pikmin 2, the first game was such an experience and a big part of that was making every day count.
To be honest, I don't care about having a game that sells consoles, I'm super duper psyched about P3.

also this! looks like a bit of fun. I think Pikmin deserves to be a huge franchise.

US release date is August 4th hopefully we aren't far behind that.

August 4th is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages away. I'm very much looking forward to it, though I'm quite disappointed that this isn't out already, truth be told.Do they work on it during their lunch break only, or something?

Pikmin 3 like others will be the title that actually spurs me down to the shops
to pick up a Wii U.

I much preferred the resource and time management balancing of the original Pikmin.
I felt the second iteration was a slightly watered down experience although as I wasnt rushing around
sweating and growling at the screen I did take more of the game in.

I'm very keen on the tilt-shift filter we've seen in some of the Pikmin 3 footage. It certainly emphasises
the miniature scale of the game world much better than the horrible plume effect.. I'm looking at you Kittle Kings Story.

I was pleased to see Pikmin 3 going back to having a timer although perhaps it'd have been nicer to have it as
a option or a 'play through plus' (with online leaderboard time trials ofc) ?

The question still remains; what happened to white and purple Pikmin?

There was a massive pik pik war purple vs white & they wiped each other out.

As much as I'm looking forward to this game I won't be buying it or a Wii U for some time. Like the 3DS a few years back the system still just has too few games for me to part with money on it just yet simply so it can collect dust for a year or two. Still the game is looking awesome and I'm looking forward to it whenever I get to play it.

Even if you only bought a wii U with Monster Hunter that'd keep you occupied for those 2 years.

Amazingly soon. I'm quite excited. Amusingly, Nintendo will probably end up opening their E3 direct with this, just like last year's conference!

CVG had 26th May up briefly, which is pretty cruel.
