| Deadline extended by one day to 23:59 on Monday 14th, because some stuff's come up for me on Monday and I don't fancy trying to put up some awards that day too.
Five votes so far. |

| Cheers Jas, good to hear. I know you're not overkeen on votes at all, but if there's one vote I could ask you to vote in every year, it'd be this one. |

| I know it's another annoying DoPo in a thread I've already DoPosted in twice, sorry; but this is the last time I'll post in here until after the deadline, apart from thanking people for their submissions.
Today is the second-last day for voting, please get your slates in today because most of us work on Monday and aren't going to want the stress of sorting things out on the first day of the working week. I'm still on only six votes, and missing some big forum names (and some small forum names who I'd like to hear from just as much). |

Pre-emptive cheers Cappa! Unsurprisingly you won't be the only one who hasn't voted in every category, and that's okay! Vote for what matters to you. |

| That's a wrap on the voting gents. 10 voters, which is decent. Thank you, you ten! A brief note of order before I go about sticking up awards. My aim is to start tonight and get an award or category up every day. However, because Real Life is a Thing (and so is losing myself in Smash Bros.), I may not manage to do that. If not, I apologise. If that happens and anybody nags me because I've missed a day, and I think they're being serious, I'll skip another day out of spite. Today may or may not be skipped. Sleepy Balla. |

You could have posted empty space and let your signature do the talking for some peak Andrewman content. |

| The GNamer Forum Annual Awards 2018Sorry to keep you waiting! The Joker Award for Funniest Forumite of 2018 (9 votes) - Third Place:
= NintenDUCK (1 vote)‘Ducky’s been more active this year than last, and the difference in humour levels has been notable. His posts/sigs/taglines have an innocent goodwill that makes me smile as much as anybody or anything else on here.’ = Muss (1 vote)‘He's funny innit’
- Second Place:
= Drunkalilly (2 votes)‘Still funny even half way around the world. I don't think I laughed more on the forum this year than when I logged in and spotted my terrible Gogmazios drawing in every thread I visited.’ ‘Oh it's still Drunka - even when sober and in another country’ = Crumpy Andy (2 votes)‘His sarcasm and creativity when telling us something is garbage is second to none.’ ‘For the way he improves my GNamer experience by making fun of everyone with me in private channels ’
- First Place:
Jimbob (3 votes)‘Funny without trying to be funny; that’s my sort of funny. You get the impression that Jimbob just types his posts without overthinking them and rather let’s them flow from his fingers organically. His natural sense of humour comes through in a lot of them.’ ‘Do think most of the time he doesn't even know that he is funny.’ ‘Even when he's not trying to be funny he brings a smile to my face.’
- My thoughts:
As usual, the Funniest Forumite award was a two-horse race... wait, three!? Where did Andyman come from? Andy's rise through the ranks shouldn't be a surprise, perhaps, to anyone who has heard him on Luke Loves Pokémon; or to anyone who's read his LGIP posts; or to anyone who listened to him commenting on the shopping channel (don't ask). Truly a funny chap, he deserves his place on a par with the Bantzmeister General himself, who continues to delight both when sober and when not. Moving to Japan has not dulled his funnies one whit. Nobody can say that Jimbob didn't deserve to win again, though. If Drunka is the Bantzmeister General, Jimbob wandered into the Humour Wars by mistake when looking for the nearest Asda, and won anyway. There's a theme running through the comments about him, that his humour is unforced and natural. I couldn't agree more. Congratulations Jim! And then a point each for Muss and NintenDUCK, neither of whom voted in these and therefore both of whom came exactly where they should have done. Incidentally, some people might read the second comment about Andyman and wonder exactly what private conversations make him so funny. I attempt to provide a modest sample below: - The Original Crumpy Voting Slate:
Contributor of the Year: Crumpy Andy - This man is the heart and soul of the forum. I wouldn't bother turning up if it wasn't for him. Top lad. Epson printer error - what's not to love? Printers, errors, this man has the lot.
Funniest Member of the Year: Crumpy Andy - Consistently hilarious, always up for a laugh. Truly the heart and soul of the forum
Signature of the Year: Crumpy Andy - Not even sure he has one, but if he does it'll be brilliant and if he doesn't it's because signatures are wank
Post of the Year: Something that Crumpy Andy posted, heck I'll vote for them all, bangers.
Topic of the Year: Forum slightly bust at the moment... - gives us a good chance to go outside, get some fresh air and stop wasting our lives

| Oh. Blimey. Well... thanks very much indeed. I do usually think of the silly answer first, and therefore I've written it down before I can stop; however I fear I am insufferable - a Colin Hunt in the making. But if I've not actually been a pain in the arse, then thank you. I appreciate the 1-more-vote-than-someone-else-so-it's-almost-arbitrary-and-I-feel-guilty-about-everyone-else-I-am-going-now-bye-sorry-bye P.S. I think the other two people are funnier than me, and Andy and Luke have literally made me LOL on several occasions in 2018, the otherwise-unfunniest of years. |

| The Ducklett Award for Best Signature of 2018 (7 votes) - Third Place:
- Second Place:

- Come and join 2018's GNamer Music Festival: SMASHTONBURY
Counting down to the release of Ultimate by reliving Smash bros OSTs.
Check out my podcast Luke Loves Pokémon. Even if you don't wanna listen, please follow and retweet on twitter and rate and review on iTunes.
Criticism of Israel is not automatically antisemitism ‘His podcast has the best guest star in the business and it is plugged here.’ = NintenDUCK's Plagiarism (1 vote) - Quote :
- JOHN WAYNE'S A BUM CAVITY
‘I’m sad Ducky’s shameless rip-off of loving homage to Cappa’s classic signature didn’t make it to the end of the year. Like Guacamelee 2, it’s a fresh helping of what made the original great, that impresses not just with its humour but its sheer cheek.’ = Crumpy Andy's Heartfelt Pleading (1 vote) - Quote :
- We want the rest of the results! We want the rest of the results!
‘I've not really taken any notice of them.’
- First Place:
= The_Jaster's Timeless Classic (2 votes) - Quote :
‘It's so old he doesn't even have a mighty beard.’ = The Cappuccino Kid's Original and Best (2 votes) - Quote :
- JOHN WAYNE'S AN ARSEHOLE
‘Always.’ ‘Never gets old.’
- My thoughts:
I could have sworn these were the 2018 Awards... The rest of us need to up our game. Not Cappa and Jas - why would they bother, when literally thousands (or, er, twos) of people still love their great efforts? No, I'm talking about everybody else. If a 2018 signature can't win a 2018 award, that's a damning indictment on the quality of our one-liners. More breasts needed next year from my side, clearly.

| The Woolly Yoshi Award for Best Thread of 2018 (8 votes) - Third Place:
= Gracklecast Episode Six - Versus Mode Round Two: Drunkalilly (1 vote)‘I massively enjoyed listening to this, and the one that came before it in 2017. I appreciate that it must be a pain in the arse to set up, but I’d really like to see this come back for 2019. Even if it was a live, unedited, one-take podcast that was uploaded online, would that be as difficult and time-consuming to do?’ = Luke Loves Pokémon (a Forumite Podcast) (1 vote)‘I didn't make the thread so this is a valid vote ’ = Wrestling Discussion Thread II (1 vote)‘I love it when the men do the wrassles’
- Second Place:
Last Game You Finished And Your Thoughts V3.0 (2 votes)‘One of my most used threads and I've even had change how I post in it but I always like to see what people think of a game that they've been playing. Just wished likes of Andy posted in there more that it's just not me with 50+ games a year.’ ‘For reminding me what a great year 2018 was for gaming.’
- First Place:
Old Magazine Chat (3 votes)‘It’s a 2016 thread, but the Cappuccino Kid brought it roaring back to life in 2018 with his pictures of old mags. A reminder of the good old days that even someone who doesn’t particularly care for the good old days can appreciate.’ ‘It wasn't technically made this year, but the bulk of the posts came in 2018 so sue me!’ ‘Despite a lot of great gaming things happening this year, there's a lot of comfort in looking back.’
- My thoughts:
Five threads were voted for. Of those, three (a majority) were not actually created in 2018, with one being created in 2014. Disappointment?
Not to my mind, no. Our winner burst into life on the 22nd of April this year, really, when Cappa's clearout gave him the belting idea to post some pictures of PlayStation Power issue 29. That kind of set the tone for the thread going forward. On page three of that topic I said, 'If this doesn't win thread of 2018 off the back of Cappa's efforts alone, there is no justice.' There is some justice.
Our other placers consisted of well-worn thread ideas that continue to garner love to this day; a cheeky celebration of this year's new podcast project; and the remains of the podcast project before that. Will it rise from the ashes off the back of that impassioned plea? Will this be the year we finally reach Wrestling Thread 3? Time will tell. For now, let's just enjoy those great old magazines while the paper still holds together.

| On the podcast front, I've got one half of the one me and Jay did. If Jay could send me his half, I could have a bash at editing it myself during my week off.
It would basic as in put the two together and put in some game music, I wouldn't do anything else to it. |

| Top stuff - a worthy winner for the thread category in my eyes! It was genuinely interesting looking back at the magazines of times gone by.
Mas: Yeah, I could probably fire it over to you if you'd like. I've meant to set aside a time to do it for fucking ages but I've had no drive to sit down and edit a two hour long cast in a long time, which is a shame considering it's a great concept for a podcast series. |

| GNew Year's Resolutions Sponsored by Fitness Boxing (5 submissions) - Submissions:
‘To finish something game-related that I can show my fellow GNamerians, as I trust their gaming opinions... well, most of them.’ ‘Reduce my backlog by at least 25 games. My backlog is pretty scary and a clear sign I need to stop buying so many new releases. I'll aim to strip back on the number of new titles I buy in a bid to get my Backlog reduced - I'm low-balling the figure I'll hopefully actually reach, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.’ ‘Change my job. I don’t dislike my job, I just want a new job. I’d say something about whittling down my backlog too, but that just seems unrealistic.’ ‘Going to Japan for me, hopefully, nothing happens to Walmart shares and I can use my three years of savings to plan a nice trip to Tokyo and have a decent amount of spending money.’ ‘Lose at least three stone. I need to lose some weight in a big way this year as I'm starting to worry about long-term health problems considering how long I've been severely overweight. This'll be my year.’ ‘I'mma get cash, I'mma get pussy, I'mma be flash and that'll be cushty.’
- My thoughts:
Yes, one person did have two resolutions. Bonus points if you can work out which two came from the same source!
These are just meant to be a bit of fun, hence the low take-up rate; but it makes me happy to see that we got some serious resolutions in there too. Good luck to all of you, may this year be your year!

| I'd reckon backlog and the diet one are both Jay.
Mine may have changed as I said about Japan this year like September but it was mentioned to me that around this time next year I will be turning 30, that going to Japan for my 30th might make more sense. |
