| Not long left, and I have a grand total of six votes not including my own. There are two ties in the rankings to be broken... |

| I only need the five! ...er, but here's a thing. I'm at the girlfriend's now, and lacking the tally chart I use to process the results, so I may not be able to rank the votes until tomorrow. I'll do my best, but I promise nothing. In the meantime, this week's voting still ends in just over an hour, and next week's begins. That would be Adventure! Your Zeldas, your Lego games, your Endless Oceans, your NMH (although not the sequel), your Hydroventure a.k.a. Fluidity, and - yes, Jaster! - your Cave Story. Do check the RPG week before you submit your vote (there's a link in the OP), as some adventure-ish games have gone in there. ( Pandora's Tower springs to mind.) As always, I'll keep a list in the OP of ins and outs... when I get around to it. |

| The Balladeer always gets through! Well that turned out better than expected. Ten votes, if you count mine, which was an abstain. I was rather hoping that one of the incoming votes would remind me of an "other" game I'd played, but nope. Fifth place:- Spoiler:
Pikmin (New Play Control)Points: 8 First places: 0 You say: "It's cute and engrossing but feels slight." I say: Argh, strategy! I actually played the GC version of this, but me, the enemies, and the thirty-day time limit didn't get on. Objectively a good game, but not for me. Third place:- Spoiler:
Pikmin 2 (New Play Control)Points: 10 First places: 0 You say: "I didn't play this on the Gamecube so coming to it fresh has helped it place so high, took everything that the original did and improved it, especially by removing that pesky 30 day limit so I could take my time to see everything." "Because (insert everyone else's opinion of Pikmin here)." I say: Argh, strategy! But it does sound more my cup of tea than the prequel, thanks to the removal of the day limit. Bit capitalistic, but I suppose that's appropriate for a quick-and-dirty port. Equally third place:- Spoiler:
Trauma Centre: Second OpinionPoints: 10 First places: 0 You say: "I owned the game on DS, and never finished it because of how painstakingly hard it was. Tears of blood were shed in frustration playing it on DS. When this come around, I actually made some progress in the game thanks to the ease of selecting tools on the nunchucks. There were some neat touches with how you used the tools (forceps were very fun to use, pressing A and B was pretty intuitive) and it was more enjoyable than the DS version." "I don't normally like to vote sequels in but I do really like this game(and if anyone voted for one it'll probably be this one and I want it to place). As I've mentioned previously the story is better in this one and it was grea that they changed up the last chapter from the DS version. Unfortunately they also made it bloody tough and I've never finished it." I say: This series scared me off, with its time pressure and its need for precision (of which I have none). It looked very well-presented, if nothing else. Second place:- Spoiler:
Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the CityPoints: 23 First places: 3 You say: "Planning, patience and perseverance yet again pay wonderful dividends. Fair enough, it was the same game for the third time, but the concept is still a belter." "It was easy for me to write this off with it being largely the same as Wild World plus a little hub for a couple of shops but I still managed to play nearly every day for around a year and it never felt like a chore, the Animal Crossing formula is something special." "I know it was a disappointment, but my family still spent 300 hours overall on this." I say: I bought it on the DS, where it was a perfect fit for the portable. I wasn't shelling out for exactly the same thing again, with a city plonked on. No sir. (looks guiltily at New Leaf ) Our Wiikly Winner:- Spoiler:
Little King's StoryPoints: 30 First places: 5 You say: - "A wonderful game, which despite its appearance can be bloody hard when it wants to be. This game has absolutely everything: a bonkers sense of humour and cast of characters, lush, gorgeous visuals, a seemingly bottomless sense of invention and imagination, an inventive, memorable boss battle around every corner, but to cap it all, a soundtrack that I guarantee will send goosebumps down your spine. Utterly wonderful stuff, which saddens me even more deeply that it sold about ten copies."
- "The production values are sky high and it's tremendously gorgeous. The time I spent with it was a joy."
- "It could only be this, such a charming game, however I've ever beaten it as it's rock solid. I've recenty started the Vita version of it which is also fantastic so I hope to see the other kings I missed out on soon!"
- "The only disappointment comes from the duo of similar-ish games it had to follow. I wish it were more like Pikmin, but it remains a piece of RTS excellence."
- "Easily one of the best exclusives on the Wii, it had such a unique feel to it and was very funny too."
- "Where to start with this? Because it's an RTS and I'm enjoying it. Because all of the music is a brilliant re-working of famous classical masterpieces. Because each of your followers is known by name, and you have to go to their funeral. Because there's hundreds of lines of dialogue you may never read. Because your followers sing you songs for no important reason. Because Airplane Hamburger. Because the princesses have jabbery pretend voices like everyone else, but they still convey their personalities. Because all the princesses are actually named aftert cocktails. Because Princess Ferne makes Jessica Rabbit look a bit crap. Because there's a mad TV that transmits mad TV shows. Because there's an NGamer recommendation on the box. Because my sister got it for my birthday, and the guy in Game was so pleased the "girl" wasn't buying Wii Fit Plus. Because Kimura-san wrote back to NGamer. Because of the diary entry in the real world (SPOILER) about Corobo's Grandfather. Because you should probably choose Verde. Because *dragged out of room*"
I say: (shuffles awkwardly) No, I didn't buy it. As mentioned above, argh, strategy! Yes, I can see how wonderful and unique it was, and yes, I wanted it to do well, and yes, a horde of rampaging demon cows should really sell it to me on its own, but... argh, strategy! If there was any chance of finding a first-hand copy and contributing to the developer's pension, I'd buy it out of pity. As it is, I hope it does well on Vita. Honourable Mentions: - Spoiler:
Battalion Wars 2, Bomberman Blast, Bonsai Barber, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, MySims Kingdoms, Pokémon Ranch, Swords & Soldiers, Trauma Centre: New Blood, WarioWare: Do It Yourself Showcase, Worms: Battle Islands Dishonourable Mentions: - Spoiler:
- Animal Crossing: Let's Got to the City: "Nintendo's laziest Wii game? Nintendo's laziest Wii game. LGttC is an interesting one for me: it appeared at a time when the Wii was conquering the world, Wild World had previously conquered the world, and Nintendo got complacent. Had I never played Wild World and Animal Crossing GC to death already, this might've been at the top of my list, but alas it gets a default second place and a deserved look of scorn. Let's just be extremely grateful that this flop was the wake-up slap Nintendo needed, leading to the (apparently) drastic improvements made for the 3DS outing."
- Bomberman Blast: "It was Ok multiplayer, it had absolutely no value single player. Naff."
- EA: "For not bringing Theme Park to the Wii. Shower of bastards. Theme Park World Wii would have been #1 on my Strategy, Sports, Platformer and Beat-‘em-Up lists."
- Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked: "Super-shoddy, super-boring load of bollocks. I can’t think of a worse game to play on your Wii, so pointless it is."
- Pikmin (New Play Control): "Obligatory reference to how I hate pointing all the time."
- Pokémon Ranch: "Pile of shit, and a featureless one at that."
"Mew. End of story/importance."
- SimCity Creator: "everything’s too wee. I suppose it could be excellent, but it was too much of a pain in the arse for me. Thank God I got Bully on the same day."
- Trauma Centre: Second Opinion: "it’s the same game as the one I had on DS. Why did nobody tell me this before I planted £40 on it back in 2007?"
"I never beat it. Trauma Center never gripped me..."
- WarioWare: Do It Yourself Showcase: "I got nothing like value for money from this but then I scarcely used it, or its DS counterpart."
- Worms: a Space Oddity: "I love Worms, I didn't own a 2D version of Worms at the time and as much as I love Worms 3D I like to shake it up every now and then, so I got this. The controls were terrible, firing was based on strength of Wii remote swings and it was just a horrible experience. It was a shame as the game had some cool ideas for weapons, they were just screwed by the controls."
Thanks to everyone who took part. To the rest of you: get off your backsides and vote for adventures! Alternatively, discuss these votes; tell me that I missed out something (I don't think I have?); or give me advice as to what I do with Metroid Prime 3 and the trilogy. Obviously the latter will outrank the former, but should it be considered at all, given that the only Wii game in it is available separately? We separated out the Bit.Trips...

| A really worthy winner, I never did finish it due to being continusly stomped by one of the bosses but aye really charming game with one of the best game over screens ever. |

| Fantastic to see our Wiikly winner this week! Maybe now I should attempt to scrape past the boss I was beaten 30,000 times at. Who wrote the impassioned essay about it? I guffawed at the ending.
Did I miss something, or did we initially say that New Play Control! games were out? If so: would Jungle Beat have been rhythm or platformer? |

| Platformer: it did actually get one vote, I believe. And no: NPC games have always been allowed in the OP, ever since Mario Power Tennis in sports week!

| Ah well. Wouldn't have made much difference, as I've not played the NPC! Pikmin games, and Jungle Beat (great as it was) wouldn't have earned a top five spot over dedicated Wii games in my opinion. |

Hmm... I won't be voting for the trilogy, considering I played 1 and 2 on Gamecube, so it's entirely up to your discretion Balla. |

| Delighted that Little King's Story took the crown - pun intended all the way, baby! A great game that has still not gotten the recognition it should have.
As for Metroid Prime 3 Vs. Metroid Prime Trilogy, that's going to be hard to untie. My suggestion? Splitting them all out as three separate games. I wouldn't necessarily vote for the trilogy but, as I didn't play it on the GC, Metroid Prime was one of my favourite Wii games, and it'd get my vote if it were on its own. It's not a great way to do it, mark you...
Anyway, quite excited for adventure week. It will be tough to narrow my votes down to a mere five... |

| I say keep the triolgy out of it as the first two Primes were GC games after all, & ye wouldn't want people's views of those games overshadow any on the wii.
