Sadly I think it was Japan only & aye the GBA version is brilliant and I actually prefer it to FPW: Returns because it has better modes like audience match. I was worried that was the case! I'd love to find a copy of the GBA version although it seems like a lifetime ago that I last played it. Fully boxed versions in good condition seem to range from £6 to £14 on ebay. Christ, that's pretty cheap actually! Off to the bay of E I go! |

| Sorry to jump off the current topic a little, but: There was criticism of Nintendo a couple of years back, in that the restrictions they put on indie developers was a little Draconian. It meant that there wasn't a lot of stuff coming through, but at least we only got things on the awesomeness level of Knytt, Toki Tori and Trine Well, they've responded to the criticism and made things a little less strict.
And now we have Tested with Robots.. Sometimes people say "I could've done that!". This time it's true. I actually could have made this game. In an afternoon. With better graphics.
Hey look guys, Nintendo were right again. |

I know what you mean for every Tested with robots there are games like X-type plus if not more, so things tend to balance themselves out also it's not like games like TWR are sitting on the main page of the e shop. |

| Whichever way you go on this issue you will attract praise and criticism in equal measure. For my money, the more content there is, the better, and we just have to tread carefully through the eShop to avoid the rotten titles. |

| Same as the rest, you've to to take the bad with good when it comes to indies if you want indies which I do.
Talking about indies this is out this week in the states, hoping we get here in the UK as a card game for the Wii U makes quite a lot of sense as you could use the gamepad to select cards etc with touch.
I found about it through Nintendo Enthusiast whom starting to like due to there indie coverage even though they did give pier solar 6.5/10 still not sure how it have the same pro & con. Also they gave the other JRPG coming a 7 which i was quite surprised about but am looking forward to that a bit more now.
Got a tweet from the Devs, whom said stayed tune about it coming to the EU.

Trine, well... I mentioned it because everybody else liked it. I thought it was a bit of a mess, but I could see it was at least made as well as could be. Knytt however I suppose you're all right... more's probably better... unless you get to the iTunes/Android app store level. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. And I guess I was really reeling from the "OMG that game sux" thought. |

| I've got Armillo. I played it about halfway through before I lost patience on a particular level and dingied it. What I played up to that point was quite good though - £2.75 is a pretty good price. |

| KuruKuru Kururin is exactly the sort of thing that's ideal for Virtual Console. It was too expensive at the RRP back in the day, but for just over a fiver it does away with it's biggest shortcoming, which was undoubtedly it's poor value for money. It's a likeable game that deserves a look. Cloudberry Kingdom is another good game, although not nearly the best example of the genre on the console. I'd agree with Jaster in saying that you'd need to be pretty into your platformers to get the most out of it. I think I'll give Rabbids Land a shot. I'd completely forgotten about it's existence - it isn't one I've seen in the shops for a long time. ~ EDIT: I seen this elsewhere - more games are in the Wii U eShop Christmas Offers than masofdas listed above: - Spoiler:
Knytt Underground (Ripstone Publishing) - €4.45/£3.99 (Ends January 1, regular price €8.99/£7.99) Pure Chess (Ripstone Publishing) - €4.45/£3.99 (Ends January 1, regular price €2.99/£2.49) Rock Zombie (EnjoyUp Games) - €4.89/£4.29 (Ends January 15, regular price €6.99/£6.29) Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails (Dakko Dakko) - €4.99/£4.49 (Ends January 1, regular price €9.99/£8.99) Stick It To The Man (Ripstone Publishing) - €3.99/£3.49 (Ends January 1, regular price €7.99/£6.99) TNT Racers - Nitro Machines Edition (Keen Games) - €4.99/£4.49 (Ends January 8, regular price €7.99/£6.99) Toki Tori 2 + (Two Tribes Publishing) - €2.99/£2.49 (Ends January 7, regular price €14.99/£12.99)
I hope Stick It... is in there, it looks quite decent. |

| Kuru Kuru Kururin would be a day 1 if I had money I can heartily recommend Scram Kitty too, though it's the sort of game that's *very* difficult to get back into if you leave it for a while, provided you haven't mastered the controls beforehand. |

You don't have to collect them all in the same run though, unless you're a madman that just wants to. - fronkhead wrote:

Agreed! They did recently patch the jump mechanic to make it a bit easier/smoother than it used to be. |

Aye - in fact, the recommendation is not to collect all the cats in one run, seeing as that makes the game exponentially harder. For me, Scram Kitty is just fun - once you get into the odd controls, that is. Stay at full health at every opportunity, practise and be careful. Cloudberry Kingdom is the classic example of what I call a 'persistence platformer' - you could never, ever finish it on one life; you just have to keep going and learn a bit more. The last few levels of the Story Mode are a bowel-threatening blizzard of pure, unadulterated terror but the gameplay changes often enough to keep things interesting. This is coming from an afore-discussed lover of 2D platformers, though. ~~~ Well up for some Duck Hunt. |

| Oh yeah, I know I'm not meant to do it all at once, but it sort of puts me off. It's like in LBP or Chariot, when I see a co-op area I can't access, I lose all steam. Bad habits don't die. |

| I like Scram Kitty a lot, but what's stopped me playing is the promise of an update that will make things easier, fairer and less frantic. That was announced back in the summer...still waiting.
Even so, I think it's the best exclusive on Wii U's eShop. |
