The sale is a great excuse to pick up any of the essentials you might not yet have, will look at finally getting Donkey Kong 64 I reckon, could do with a 64 era platformer what with all the Yooka-laylee hype.

Not sure what, if anything, I'll be picking up, but it won't be DK64. I remember being seriously unimpressed with it on the N64, a game of uninspired level design, excessive amounts of minigames, and a rare (heh) duff turn for Grant Kirkhope. But each to their own!

This looks quite cute, but at the same time janky as all hell.

Aw man - the cute kid, the puzzles, kind old bird man (which would be hackneyed, but as he's helping a small child, it fells comforting and Disney-esque)... it was all find until robot started attacking other robots. I'm still going to keep an eye out though.

Up in till the combat, it looked a bit of a ICO type clone. Also the sound effect used for hitting things sounds like its from Granstream Saga.

The ability to buy Stealth Inc. 2 and Thomas Was Alone for less than a bus ticket. What an age we live in. Y'all should get on them, if you haven't already.

OlliOlli is cross buy as well - you'd get a digital copy for both 3DS and Wii U for 80p.

Will probably just go for Lone Survivor, the majority of the others I've already gotten for free through PS Plus which I'd imagine has probably helped lead to them going for this price.

I was trying to have my own opinion on this, but I've failed and just agreed with Muss - Olli Olli is the good cheap'n I might get here. I would get Thomas Was Alone for that price, but I already have it. It's like the Steam Summer Sale all over again.

Olli Olli is a game I've heard a great deal of chit chat about, and after I download Monster Hunter I'm gonna have a spare fiver on my 3DS...

I've played Olli Olli 2 which I assume is much the same and I can definitely recommend it at that price.

FYI, those discounted Curve Digital games still give you 10 My Nintendo gold points apiece - they're still counted as costing between £4.50 and £8.99. It might not seem like much, but I've downloaded six of them for just shy of a fiver and it's enough to get me a free copy of Metroid Fusion on Wii U.

All the Curve Digital games are easily recommended, by the way. In particular, Ultratron plays like a hyper mash-up of Robotron 2084, Super Smash TV and, of all things, Pac-Man. Simple, but moreish for being like that. Pumped BMX+ has a great arcade feel to it - it's one of those 'easy to play, difficult to master' type games that are very easy to plough a lot of time into. The value of those are 80p each is

I didn't know until just there that A Shadow's Tale had been re-released on the Virtual Console. That's an odd, but interesting, choice. I didn't find it as clever as it probably thinks it is, but the atmosphere and art compensate for that. It's quite good if you're into your platformers like me, and it's one of those rare games that cheaper to download than it is to find on disc. Good soundtrack too - the first two minutes is an amazing example of the atmosphere that I've just typed about:
On a seperate note, the eShop music just now is quality - definitely my favourite since the Wii Shopping Channel theme.

I have got it on the Wii - and I played through... a bit of it. I just can't remember where I got to. I think you're right Cappa - it's a bit more straightforward that the "idea" suggests it will be.

It appears Turbo Grafx 16 Games are finally on Wii U VC! Bonk is still lots of fun but at this point is anyone tempted to pick any of these up?
also side note, i also picked up Olli Olli for 80p! Nintendo should really push and promote sales like that a little more. The Eshop has plently of great titles to fill the lack of main console releases!!

I know - it's a bit late, isn't it?! I had a couple of TG-16 games back in the days of the Wii - Bonk's Adventure, which was alright, and Fighting Street, which was not. If they give us Fighting Street on the Wii U, I might pull that through (as only I call it) onto my Wii U, but that would be it. In my mind, it's just Konami trying to make a quick buck (for they own the licenses now, I understand). It's a bit desperate, really.
