My favourite was CM Punk VS Brock Lesnar. It was just so damn good. Second favourite would probably be Punk and John Cena from February. There have been so many good matches in WWE this year though. Aside from the ones already mentioned, I'd like to bring up the Daniel Bryan/Antonio Cesaro match which was part of a gauntlet from Raw earlier in the year. Also the triple threat Tag Team Championship match from Hell in a Cell (I think?) between The Rhodes Bros, The Shield and The Usos, twas a corker.

From an in-ring perspective, it's been a good year for WWE. It's quite indicative of the caliber of 'super-athletes' that WWE currently has under contract when someone like Curtis Axel - who, at least as far as his craft goes, is fundamentally sound - is probably regarded as one of WWE's lesser-talents. I can't remember when WWE has had a roster with wrestlers as good as Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and so on.

On the other hand, it's been a creatively-bankrupt year of WWE - and I partly blame that on too much of an over-reliance on bunging the likes of The Shield and The Usos in the ring for half an hour at a time. Good matches, yes, but there's no story, and nothing to draw me in. There's little reason to get invested in a lot of the matches these days. It's like they do those matches so they don't need to write a show.

I know I'm a fanny for complaining about good matches, but there's been f**k-all in the way of a good storyline since SummerSlam-time.

If were talking about matches of the year, I have this TNA Knockout match to suggest.

Ye know what? I think I'm going to have to go with Rhodes brothers vs the shield its the one thing that had everything great story build up, more than just the titles on the line, great technical ability in the ring & crowd got really invested in it.

I think it's also where wwe fully realised "oh yeah tag teams matches can be fun"

Apparently Trips is pushing for tag-teams to be a big thing next year. If they can get anywhere near the tag-team scene in 2000/01 with the Dudleys, the Hardys, Edge and Christian, the APA and Too Cool tearing it up, then we're in for a good time.

Some belters in there that I'd forgotten about. That Money in the Bank ladder match was ace, as were the matches that AJ and Kaitlyn had.

Aye, I completely forgot about ADR vs Christian that was a really enjoyable match especially when they didn't have much of a story to feed off.

I still maintain Summerslam was the best PPV of the year, minus that blemish of Bray Wyatt vs Kane.

My bet is on a Rumble return. Him, Jericho, Sheamus, RVD, they'll all return at the Rumble.

He's a trainer in NXT (not sure if permanent of temporary).

Yeah, him, Billy Gunn, Regal - they're all involved down at NXT.

Ahh I see, still seems a bit odd that he would get all dressed up in his ring gear (cape & all) to train people.

Jeff Jarrett has left TNA. That's a bit of a surprise.

I thought he was head of creative over there. That is surprising though.

If you want a Christmas present from WWE, watch Cesaro vs Regal on NXT this week. One of the most brutal and technically impressive matches I've seen.

According to the Wrestling Observer, as of last week, these are the planned headline matches for WrestleMania XXX...

That DX vs Punk and Bryan tag match could work. I will be seriously cross if Batista wins the Rumble. I can't see Hogan in a match - a run-in, maybe, but not a match. Goldberg could still pop up too.
