| I had a group of friends back in school who played D&D and MTG fairly religiously. I didn't have the time to join in though. |

| I have been into all of these games hardcore at some point.
W40K was probably my longest love-affair, I went through various armies, starting with Necrons, moving slowly onto Space Wolves, then to Chaos, back to Necrons, back to Chaos, and finally fizzling out there. Warhammer I picked up soon after, where I only had a High Elf army, but a rather large one. (4000 points)
Yu-Gi-Oh I started when Chaos Emperor Dragon was getting ritualistically abused, and stopped just after the rise of Gladiator Beasts/Lightsworn Warriors. My best deck was a Monarch/DD deck, although I had a fair few Fiend decks too, and my Dark World deck was my most memorable and fun to use.
MTG I only played for a couple of years, and I used a White Weenie deck, mainly. I was much more into the draft side of things, although the best card I pulled was only worth £30. |

| triple post,
I've not had a warhammer army for ages but as now a games workshop has opened in town and some changes made to a localish club.
I'm thinking about getting back into it again. |

| I dabbled in 40K a lot when I was younger but fell out of it when I moved to secondary school and it was harder to get games. I was always more into playing than making/ painting the figures. To that end, I'm much more likely to spend my money these days on a board game I can play straight out of the box. I have Battles of Westeros and one of the expansions which plays like a more streamlined Warhammer and has the bonus of the Song of Ice and Fire license. |

| Sounds good, need to get playing on the Wednesday Pre-EGX unless you got the firefly board game.
I did pick up some 40K when the new store opened of Dark Angels but not bought anything else to add to it and MTG deck is now modern and not standard by a good few years and due to that it sucks as a modern deck, I should just sell it. |

| Never played MTG, although I vaguely know how it works. I do play quite a lot of Hearthstone though, which is meant to be very similar but much more streamlined. I kind of go through phases of playing a lot and not at all however, so I kind of need the F2P business model because it lets me see a little bit of everything without having to splash the cash. Also arena drafts are fun.
Games Workshop. Well I have quite a few of the LOTR pieces, and always wanted to recreate Helms Deep and the like. But setting everything up and playing a large battle takes forever, and I'm shite at painting. Also, its really expensive. Holy crap is it expensive, and you need lots of pieces to recreate parts of the film. So like Drunky says, getting games that just work out of the box is a big plus for me now. Can't say I've thought about playing Warhammer since I was 14/15.
Now Bloodbowl, yeah. Big Bloodbowl fan: risk management with enough random chance for funky stuff to occur without being total Monopoly like luck. Glad its on the PC since the boardgame is now unsupported.
Yu gi, NO. |
