| Nope he's not iconic if I showed a picture of mario to my nan she'll know who he is, same with sonic and paccers. I doubt she would know who mega man is but we will let him slide due to his Nintendo heritage but rayman also not a clue & no Nintendo heritage.
If it's a celebration of video games where's master chief, joanna dark, bomberman, crash, spyro, gordan freeman, gex, q-bert, cloud, knack etc. |

| Was trying to think of a more iconic gaming figure with similar Nintendo ties to Rayman - Bomberman would do nicely. Surely he'd be a better fit than Rayman? No doubt as to how he'd fight, either... |

| Bomber does has some history with Nintendo and would work quite well. |

| I think k you're being incredibly racist Balladeer. Rayman might not have as much cultural cache as mario here but he is a big name in mainland Europe. He's also responsible for the best platform games, with the best music, on Nintendo consoles, even if they are multi - format. We've had three smash games of Nintendo characters. Obviously the games aren't a celebration of all videogames, but all videogames on Nintendo consoles. Rayman, sonic, mega man especially... All big names on Nintendo. I hope we'll see Rayman, Simon Belmont and commander shepherd. |

And you're right, Drunka. I am a developer-racist. I'm not proud of it, but there you are. I read the Nintendaily Mail and shout about all those third-party games coming over to our console, stealing our gaming time.

- Genuine point to Jas now - your point in favour of Pac-Man is that he's iconic as heck. Do you think Rayman is iconic enough, though? I wouldn't have thought he's anywhere near the same level of icon-ness as MM, Sonic or his Pacness.
(Realise this is me "stepping into the debate", but it is at least a different angle from "I say Nintendo/you say videogames", which I've done to death.) No, ye'd be a madman to think he was on the same level as Mario, pac-man & MM etc but I'm pretty sure he won't be the reveal. |

| @Drunka only two just Nintendo characters
I was being sarcastic with my choices of none of them would or should be in smash.
I'm not sure if balla is being serious or not. |

| About reading the Nintendaily Mail? I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist. I can see it now, though: articles complaining about the likes of Call of Duty corrupting our youth, next to pictures of ZSS modelling her new stiletto jetboots...
I guess all fanboys are "platform-racist" in a way, though. |

I think you've misunderstood my celebration of games point, I was explaining that's what indies do (some AAA devs too) I'm NOT saying throw in every gaming character in history into smash bros but more that its fine for Nintendo to acknowledge a handful of gaming protagonists (within reason) from the history of the industry. |

| I wouldn't be surprised if we got another Pokemon, I hope we don't but it seems like something Nintendo would do. We already have a fire starter and water starter so it kind of makes sense for them to add a grass one which would most likely be Sceptile seeing as the Ruby/Sapphire remakes are on the way and there isn't a single 3rd gen Pokemon in the game yet. |

| So Lucina, Chrom, Captain Falcon and Robin whom I guessing is your character in FE:A.
Vido might be pissed with all this FE:A love.

| Regarding the Serious Business of how they fight, Lucina looks like a Marth clone/costume, while Chrom is presumably an Ike clone/costume, and Robin looks all-new. Also, the Smash site has crashed completely. |

| That's how I thought they'd be a palette swap like with the Wii Fit Trainer but doesn't look like it, also that's almost how my female robin looked in FE:A. |

| I played and loved FE:A, though I can't for the life of me remember who Robin is.
Chrom and Lucina are a good shout, though.
Edit: Wait. Robin = Avatar, right? i.e. the one you play as? I remember him. I just didn't have my name set as Robin. As you were. |
