| Now that I've come down to earth, I'm a bit more like my old self. Much better though this now looks, I still don't see it being as good as any other home console 3D Mario. The constant time limit, four-player focus, 2D-3D hybrid controls and Boom Boom all stop that from happening. That said, it still looks much better than 3D Land and most, if not all, of the 2D Marios. Nyaaaaa! :3
I should stop moaning now and wait for the game to actually be released. Less than two months - not that long! (Although I'll be getting it for Christmas, I have no doubt.) |

| A conversation with a friend today showed what I meant.
"Wow. I really want to buy a Wii U to play 3DW. If only there was another game I wanted." Me: Lists the good Wii U games. "Yeah, they may be good, but I'm not going to buy a Wii U to play them. I do want to play this though. I'll buy one when X comes along."
TL:DR 3DW seems to be the first "breakout" Wii U game - the game that makes people that never previously considered buying a Wii U want to invest in the console to play it in the way that other games don't. |

| Okay, this is impressive work on ONM's part. The "8" label should be pointing to the top right of the full image, but that's not the point. The point is that the SMG resemblances could be more than skin-deep. Here's the full article. Or should that be article? Yes yes, I know, "boo this man". |

| I'll be giving it a go a week today. I'm not really expecting much, but perhaps the demo will change my mind. |

| Just wow! After the trailer and the artwork examination by ONM (I wasn't even aware that artwork existed until then) I'm really excited about this.
There are so many ideas I like in there, and it's nice to see the use of shadows on walls is more substance over style. It's great EAD Tokyo seem to have put more emphasis on experimentation within a level too, rather than 3D Land's more linear level romps.

| Had a go of World 2-1 at the Play Expo yesterday with a couple of other people. Here are my findings.
1) It played like an upscaled Super Mario 3D Land, perhaps unsurprisingly.
2) The Cat Suit does not have a homing attack, which I thought it did from some of the footage.
3) Green Stars are going to be hard to find, particularly with others playing. |

| It made no difference whatsoever. The people I was playing with were keener on getting to the end of the level than exploring. |

| The latest selection of shots, apart from looking very pretty indeed, seem to show off Peach riding around inside a Koopa Shell, a collectable stamp, and metallic flying Dry Bones. Brr. |

Is it just me, or does this game suddenly look 100% prettier than in its original E3 reveal video? |

| Maybe it's just because I've had a chance to examine the stills, but I'm noticing many more environmental details and lots of fancy lighting/textures I missed seeing before. Good stuff! |
