Someone should come along and make one, that much is clear. Balla should be discharged from the forum, or at the very least we jack elation in for a while and refuse to post in the appreciation thread. This punk has really ruined my appetite for puns to be honest. |

| I can't believe that you folks are slagging off my 'see many' pun when there's this atrocity of a tagline currently active.
Anyway, it's turned out that to my surprise I might actually be picking this up. The Lady has shown some interest in the co-op side of things, despite normally not having any interest in Mario games because there's no story or some such nonsense. So we'll see. I remain hopeful that we only have a bit more than a month to go without a main co-op game... |

Balla and spunk. Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme, face full of slime. |

| I bought this on a whim the other day and played a bit of co-op with my (complete non-gamer) partner. It's still fun, although it's been a while since I've played a multiplayer game, and as such a while since I've had to explain controls to a newbie. ("The B button doesn't work!" "I think it does...") |

| I've actually ordered this for the same reason! I'm hoping I'll find a spark of magic in it in multiplayer that I didn't in single-player: that's what mentioned in The Back Page, anyway. |

| Maybe treesmurf, Dusty Knackers and JayMoyles will have different thoughts, but I felt that the online co-op session we had on this last night worked very well. I was pleasantly surprised - there was very little input lag, it played seamlessly for 99.5% of the time. Tell you what though, I thought it was much harder with four folk. Even though we only reached the middle of the fifth world before calling it a night, we still got three game overs and missed a ton of collectables. Still, it was a very entertaining way to spend a lockdown Saturday night |

| Yeah it ran very well, might have been like 2 moments where it slowed down over the course of nearly 4 hours. It's definitely hard work in multiplayer but at the same time it has its own sense of fun, whether it was being an arse towards other players for the lolz or the moments we worked together to get through it was good stuff. |

| A friend and I have been playing through NSMBWii and 90% of the time the second player is much more hindrance than help. |

| It's a lot more forgiving here having it on a 3D plane, other players can still get it in the way and there was countless times I picked up another player by accident but it's nowhere near the amount it happens in the 2D games. |

| I've actually played some of this with The Lady now, and my first thoughts are... mixed. First off: that has to be one of the laziest title screens I've seen. Slap on the box art and get the bassist in for half a day. It contrasts massively with the vibrant fun actual title screen for the SM3DW half.
Basically we've had an average time, although I think that's half who I'm playing with and half the game. We're not engaging with the competitive aspects, which feels like it's quite a substantial part; and the mix of somebody that's familiar with Mario paraphernalia (and has played the game before!) playing with someone who isn't feels like quite a substantial imbalance. The way I'd like to do this is letting The Lady go first at her own pace, to discover those things without me running off in front; but because of the time limit we can't do it this way without cutting things fine.
Time limits have no place in a co-op platformer.
I'm also really not enjoying the characters' movement off the back of Odyssey, where Mario felt so fun and dynamic to control; and seeing Boom Boom for the first time was a right kick in the teeth. That said, it's still pretty and it sounds nice, and with the Double Cherry we're beginning to see the levels have some interesting ideas. |

| If you play it competitively (which I kind of think it's meant to be) the time limit is much less of a problem because you're racing against your friends anyway |

| What's all this bleddy negative SM3DW talk? Every level (after the first one say) is a unique wonderful invention. |

| Mmmmm... mmm. Mmm. And indeed, mmm.
Maybe the levels felt more special on a first play? Maybe they felt more special when I wasn't shuffling a Mario newbie through them? Maybe they felt better when the previous Mario platformer was a NSMB game and not Odyssey? I'm not feeling the astonishing variety and idea deluge of the levels that I remembered from my first time around, which is a shame because when the best hits come (Plessie, the shadow level) they're still gold. |

| To confirm I've now strongly come to believe my negative thoughts were due to playing it with the wrong person. I've loved playing it this time and the idea of the multiplayer being competitive is far better than my experience of it in multiplayer. |
