| Nintendo Life's hands-on (here) says that button controls are supported but you can go back to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk if you want. I'll not be doing that. |

| Several European retailers have suddenly moved the release date back to Q1 2014.....
The other forums I'm on are freaking out... Game delay alert....

| I'm happy it's get pushed back as I might buy it now, I was never going to buy in November with the PS4 looming. Just haven't got enough money to go around but if it's Jan then xmas or bday money could be used to buy it. |

| Bah. Well, if it's true, it must make sense to someone at Nintendo... frankly, I'd be glad, because it would mean greater time for the games that are coming out between now and the end of the year. October to December is always a bad time for increasing my backlog.
In short, I won't be too unhappy if DKC:TF is delayed. |

| I'm a little disappointed with this, I was hoping it would be a Christmas present. Oh well, not like there's not plenty else out. |

| What happened to making the Wii U's games schedule look vaguely presentable by Christmas time? Does that leave any big Wii U games apart from WWHD and SM3DW between now and the end of the year?
There is an argument that releasing two platformers so close together might not be the best idea ever, but I agree with Andy that it seemed like the perfect Christmas game. It's called Tropical Freeze, for crying out loud. |

| I'm sure they won't mind delaying the Aussie release six months. It'd be pretty much par for the course. |

It won't have an *awful* Christmas. Just a relatively poor Christmas that shall be remembered as "the holiday that Nintendo forgot". There's always the 3DS to come to the rescue, isn't there? |

| I disagree. The Wii U has had a year to build on its competitors' dying days, a year it's squandered. Now, when they're launching, Nintendo have a grand total of one Mario game launching over Christmas, and a Mario game that looks more disappointing than any home console 3D Mario before it. (Although I can't watch the new trailer at work: maybe I'll change my mind?) It'll be lost amongst the other two's launches.
Although the 3DS will continue to shoot the idea that handheld gaming is dead in the face, yes. |

| I'm not agreeing with this 'Wii U's Christmas is doomed' patter. 3D World, Wii Fit U, Wii Party U, Wii Sports Club, Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost World, Watch_Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV, Batman Arkham Origins, COD Ghosts and more looks like a pretty strong line-up to me. I'm not going to buy even half it - time puts a lid on that idea - but that's surely enough to cater to most gamers? |

| I've heard that 3D World looks brilliant in the ND trailer, so I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it. But I can see an awful lot of those games ending up subpar - ONM were making anxious noises about Lost World, Wii Sports Club took a brilliant idea and shot it in the head with a stupid pricing structure, the last few games are ports, who knows whether the same crowd that picked up the "Wii" series will do so again... WWHD and SM3DW stand out from that crowd to me.
Maybe I'm wrong, though. That's two people who have told me that it won't be a shite Christmas, for which I thank you. And it's not like DKCTF is looking scintillating anyway. |

| I didn't know that about Lost World. Still, I make anxious noises about ONM and it's review scores. Zing! Go watch the 3D World trailer and see how you feel about things after that. That's my advice. |

Although the 3DS will continue to shoot the idea that handheld gaming is dead in the face, yes. Trust me, it looks like a completely different game. People I know who were "meh" are actually going out to buy Wii Us now... |

| So the delay is true but could be good if comes out in Jan or Feb be something to play on the U unlike this year at that time. |

| Loads more footage from IGN. All this new footage is weird. You could almost think the game is completed and they're delaying it because they have nothing for Early 2014....
