| With the addition of some new games in the Mii Plaza, I thought it might be appropriate to have a discussion going for them (rather than one for each game). To get things started, I will give you my impressions so far. Keep in mind that I never get any StreetPass hits unless I go to town and that can be weeks apart. Luckily I have 4-3DS, so I get 3 hits, twice every day to keep it ticking along.
StreetPass Squad I assume this is a Gradius type game, not having played a lot of those type of scrolling shooters. I have to say that this is my least favourite game of the four. It isn't that I think it is bad, rather that I find I just want to get it out of the way to play the other games. It looks terrfic and plays really well, despite my lack of interest. They have created some very good levels which require a lot of practice to master and get a high score. I just settle on beating the boss and moving on. Maybe when I am finished the whole game I will enjoy just getting better scores.
So far, I have managed to beat all 3 of the first planet and all of the planet to to top. I am still attempting to beat the second stage of the bottom planet. It needs to be said that I am really crap at playing it. Sometimes I lose withing moments of starting a section, but at least I do learn a little more each time to avoid the msitakes of my previous attempt.
StreetPass Garden It might say a lot about my gaming preferences, but this is my favourite game. The gentle nature of the game really appeals to me and it has resonable depth for the price. It is a really simple concept that I would love to see grow into a full and complete game. I could understand why others wouldn't like it though as it is as exciting as watching paint dry.
I have managed to breed 15 different species so far. Whist I have 3 garden plots, I am trying hard to get the $60k to buy the largest plot, with $25k to go. The decorations available are for more fun collecting than they should be.
StreetPass Battle This is a very neat little strategy game. It is pretty simple and doesn't appear to have a lot of depth, as so far it can be just about having so many more troops than the other side and then overwhelm them. I can usually manage 600 troops added a day, which can make for long stretches of doing nothing. However, I do like it a lot, but it ranks as my third favourite. Some of the names they come up with for the Kingdoms is both dumb and funny.
So far, I have managed to beat 5 kingdoms. I beat the Ninja Kingdom by outnumbering them 3 to 1. The next one has a very large number, so it is going to be a while before I get those sort of numbers (I use all of my coins to get puzzle pieces at the moment). I keep increasing my castle, but I don't actually know what that means as an outcome.
StreetPass Mansion This came a very close second to the Garden for me. It appears to have a lot more depth than the others and took me a while to realise what I could and should do. With all of the upgrades available to the weapons, it has drawn me in. Placement of the pieces and the colour arrangement do matter. It is great to get a big area with plenty of chests to plunder, but it is also good to force a battle with a ghost by mixing the colours up.
I have managed to get to the 7th floor so far and I ensure the floor is completely covered before I move on. As a consequence of only getting StreetPass hits with my own consoles, I get to choose the colour and all of them are red at the moment. That makes for a pretty uniform approach to the floor. I did make one very dumb mistake early on when I couldn't beat the boss on the way up. I could not get any more than half of its HP down before I died. That went on for days before I realised I could defend - I told you it was a dumb mistake. I also only realised by chance that upgrading weapons with the same weapon increased the level it can go up to, meaning many wasted opportunities early on.
So those are my impressions so far. I am a big fan and more than content with my $20 spend. However, I doubt I will spend another $60, just to have it on all 4 consoles. It takes up enough time to play them as it is without multiplying it by four. How are the rest of you finding your time with the games?

| I think another thread is fine. The update was a while ago now, while the games keep giving. Well, not Garden. I'm on the "paint drying" side of things. But I'm enjoying the others to reasonable extents. Beat my first Streetpass monarch in Battle the other day, which was fun. And I'm finding Squad really hard! |

| Squad is the game most like a game but i find hard as well, so not got far.
Garden, Is kinda interesting but has got a bit of a bore but i love the 3D effect on the plants.
Battle, is the game i like the most i only got 7 country's to go with my nearly 5000 strong army with my huge castle.
Mansion, is lame I'm on level 4 and seen about 2 ghosts.
And recently finished quest for the 1st time, i was confused about where quest 2 was but released i had to restart. |

The Ninja's were pretty awesome, but triple the numbers did the trick. I have had a lot of battes with ghosts in Mansion and the boss battles require some sort of strategy. I agree that on the surface it can seem fairly lame, but given time it did grow on me. I have beaten Quest II so many times now, it is hard to count, but certainly 50 times or more. It is a pity they haven't given us Quest III. |

| Squad is one I reckon I will keep coming back to as it's quite challenging and prefecting the levels, etc will take some time.
Garden I'm not a fan of, I like that there's a bit of depth to it I just hate the overall style of it, Mr Mendel is a rubbish, unlikable character and I'm sick of seeing him every time I boot it up.
Battle is good but one I can't see lasting as long as the others, good fun though just a shame everyone I StreetPass seems to have about 3 people in their plaza meaning progress is slow.
Mansion is a clever one, promises some depth to it with the different items and things to find but and the battle mechanic is standard RPGish fare so I can't complain with that. |

| To copy from the update thread:
Theory: Mr. Mendel (first name probably Gregor) is making up the whole story about gardening being important in his world, because his life is/was gardening and he has nothing else and he needs someone to Alan Titchmarsh the ears off. In actuality, hardly anyone likes gardening apart from him, but he's set up an elaborate conditioning scheme to keep his dead brother's son/daughter happily in awful eternal gardening hell. And the other Miis, benignly bringing their plants along? They're results of his further cross-pollination experiments. With humans.
Or maybe he's just really boring and talks too much. But psychotic gardening overenthusiast-cum-jailer is much more fun. |

Did you have a bad experience at Gardening Camp when you were a kid Balla ...... perhaps a special visit to camp from Jimmy Saville I am struggling to understand the hate for GardenPass. Sure, as I stated, I can see why it can be viewed as exciting as watching paint dry, but surely it isn't just flatout horrible. What is the problem with Mr. Mendel? I have never found the character annoying at all. He hasn'r really registered with me at all. It is amazing how we can view it so spectacularly different, even allowing for personal taste. |

My army is barely 12,000 and I had a Monarch with over 100,000. Holy crap! I can generally add 600 a day with StreetPass and that is it. I completed the first 20 plants in GardenPass and it opened up another 60 species to get. It also added a new $100,000 garden that will take me some time to get. I am now up to the second battle in the 4th planet of the shooting game, which I find quite surprising, considering how bad I am at it. Anyone beaten all 4 planets and is that it? I am now up to the 8th floor of the Haunted House and have levelled up a few guns to decent levels. I really do enjoy these games. Also, they finally updated the NTSC Mii Plaza. |

| I'm on the last country, it plays different to all the rest. I lost , so need to get some more coins or hits so I can try again. |

So how many troops do you need to win in the later battles? |

| Not only is Garden boring to me, it's also frustrating to boot. Unless I'm missing something fundamental (likely), the percentage ratings for getting new breeds of plant are rarely in my favour. Having said that, it is at least now quick to get through, which is something you couldn't say of Squad or Mansion. If you're at a convention you could reasonably rattle through Garden or Battle but the depth of the other two prevents that. It's a shame, as I am far fonder of Squad and Mansion. |

I just beat Kingdom 12 and have 21,000 troops, so I have a long way to go. Did you get your troops from StreetPass hits or just buy them with coins? Anyone beaten the Squad game? I am on the last planet and I am wondering if that is it. When I want to beat any level, I just load up on Coin partners, but only after I figure I know what I am doing. I am assuming it becomes a 'beat your best score' game after this planet. |

| I've beaten Squad too. It's a shame because it's the best of the games, in my opinion. As masofdas rightly says, you get a slightly different reward to the one you're expecting. A very tough reward... |

| Mii Plaza i easily my highest game played in the records now, with it being over 150 hours. I can't believe how much I have played, but these games continue to give me a lot of fun. |

| I downloaded the extra games the week before last, and with the limited amount of time I've spent with each one I've enjoyed what I've seen. Dare I say I like the concept of StreetPass Garden the best? |

Finally, someone who sort of agrees with me - at this stage. I really do enjoy Garden. I like getting new plants, setting up all the gardens. Sure, it isn't particualrly exciting, but that doesn't matter, it is just pleasant fun. |

| Garden has blossomed (yes!) in my eyes, too. The reams of text that accompanied the early stages have died down and the simple pleasures have come to the fore. I feel that its upswing in my eyes has coincided with StreetPass Relay; it no longer takes days to grow a plant, only to see it take the 25% probability form ( ). To be honest I can see it lasting the longest of the four now. |
