That second point is even worse, they even sell season passes with game now so you get all future DLC for cheaper, I'd rather just have everything for £40 not £60 and rising.

Yep but you've pretty much hit it on the head there; they keep doing it because people are willing to pay for it. An extra twenty quid for something they hashed out in the month before release when they weren't doing anything and they need to send you want physical product? Bargain!

What about something like bioshock infinite that has a season pass (didn't buy because of PS4) which has a horde type mode which could of been in the game, but the two story missions are completely different from the main game. if it's like that I don't mind the season pass or dlc, it's something worthwhile.

My general feeling about DLC is that if it's ready for launch, or could have feasibly been ready for launch, and isn't free, then that's a rip-off. If it wasn't feasibly ready for launch (like Pikmin 3's) or is free (like the 365 Layton puzzles), that's fine. I'd rather pay £3.99 for extra Smash Bros. characters than £40 for a glorified expansion pack, but if those characters should have been in the game anyway then I'm not going to be happy.

Shouldn't of pikmin 3's dlc been in the game really it's been development for 9 years or something, surely it's just something that got cut or put to put together of what they had, like square has done with final fantasy 13.
Have any of you seen beyond two souls has been edited in the EU, about 5-10 seconds was changed so it get's a 16 rating, I've seen people moan about this with shit like this "I'm not buying now, i wanted a mature game screw you sony". If your saying shit like that your clearly not very mature, I hope going down to a 16 (heavy rain was a 15) helps sales, so quantic dream game bring us more great games in the future.

Either: a/ Was removed from the 'final' product specifically to be used as DLC b/ Was removed before the game was finished because it didn't work/didn't fit and was then tidied up after the fact to operate as a standalone product c/ Is a handful of bits cobbled together to make a quick buck

I was just guessing about pikmin 3 but with FF13 square cut enough stuff from the first they had enough martial to make another gamw which they did then another after that.

Not sure I believe that about FFXIII when it, 2 and Lightning Returns both have basically unrelated plots (other than a few characters) that wouldn't have made any sense tacked onto the end of XIII...

I believe it was the open world type part which was cut from 13 which was back in ff13-2 (I think). I will try finding info on web but was sometime ago now that ff13 came out.

At least half of the game was open world in FFXIII, right?

This is what I found
It turns out there once were many more labyrinthine paths and dungeons in Final Fantasy XIII, but they got cut. An interview (in Japanese) over at FF-Reunion with art director Isamu Kamikokuryou ("No you!" to his friends) has him saying that the team removed enough extra locations from the title to make up a whole other game entirely.
Sections cut include a secret base for Snow's hero squad, a character's home that included a park, and even a zoo inside one of the game's amusement park areas. This is all more impressive when you consider that Square Enix is expecting to need three DVDs to hold everything that's still in the Xbox 360 version of the game. But FFXIII completists, don't worry too much -- we're sure some of that content will appear sometime during the game's 10-year cycle.
That "entire game's worth" of content that was reported to have been cut from Final Fantasy XIII? Well, don't expect it to return in the form of DLC for the game. Speaking with Joystiq, FFXIII producer Yoshihiro Kitase said of the trimmed elements, "There wasn't all this other stuff that we wanted to include but had to cut. It was more of a selective process you'd find in any development process, where there were a lot of ideas but then we chose the best of those to include in the final game. The things that were cut either didn't make sense in the storyline, would slow down the pace of the game or were otherwise unnecessary."
I can't remember being much of a open world in FFXIII compared to other's in the series, and where were the towns etc.

Definitely sounds like stuff that would have fit in during the linear parts before the trip to Gran Pulse where the game opens up. It doesn't need towns to be an open world game - it was just a different breed from the rest of the Final Fantasy series.
As Andy said, there was a huge open world with teleporters to fast travel everywhere if you did the side missions, it just wasn't signposted very well.

Don't levels get cut out of games all the time, or spin offs made because they had a cool idea of how to do them? Don't think that's special to FFXIII. Point is it was still a huge game that the campaign lasted many hours and the side stuff (including riding a chocobo which was totally missable) was epicly long too. I certainly wouldn't have felt cheated that a few extra locations weren't shoved in.
Jay has pretty much summed up what I thought. Plus towns wouldn't have made any sense in FFXIII following its storyline.

Whatever happened to MySims? I know it had a good run, being a Christmas-time staple for a number of years and all, but it's just sort of vanished. Nobody talks about the old games or asks about new ones anywhere. I thought they were quite good.

I think this is the best place to put it, right I've started looking at Novembers releases, sorting the list getting videos etc. In November there's roughly 40 videos that need to be edited together, if all 40 videos are edited to 30seconds each that's a 20minute video.
One of the things you brought up was the video last time was to long, so what I'm prepossessing is like the video jay used once that inspired me and others do with there release videos is to cheery pick. This would mean things like barbies dream house (Nintendo exclusive), halo 4 game of the year edition would miss out and I would use things like call of duty ghosts, zelda link between words in the video.
What do you guys think, only problem I have is why a title like barbie (none of us will ever play) get's shafted the whole point of the video was all the games got the same amount limelight but there will always be the list which include all the release's

I got Civilisation 5 from the Golden Joysticks voting thing, and I got a code for a discount on the latest DLC (which has some big gameplay features). So after doing the tutorial, I thought I'd give a main match a go, on a small map with a small number of nations.
I started at around 6:30PM. I managed to build my civilisation and, after only fighting some barbarians and staying peaceful with the other nations, I finally managed to advance my science enough to win through technology. I then decided to carry on as some interesting stuff was going on - the citizens of China were revolting and their cities were leaving china and joining my nation and both China and Japan kept saying they hated me.
After each had only their main city left, I nuked them and sent giant death robots after them. Soon after I was happy with the result...my phone alarm went off. It was 9AM.

Civ has always been a swine for that sort of thing. I'm amazed I've ever actually managed to achieve anything else in my life, ever.

I picked up Civ 5 in that Golden Joysticks giveaway too - yet to play, so the fact it's addictive is pleasing to hear.

Looks more like a top 12 to me I'll give you your top 4 (or 6 as it appears) but there's some crazy choices! The Last Story?! Skywards Sword?! Gears of freaking War?!?!?!?! I'd think about my top 10 but I'm not sure I could narrow it down. Pretty sure GTA V and TLoU would be up there though.

It was hard to narrow it down to the best one out of the mass effect's it's like picking the best star wars (original trilogy), just to hard and as you can buy it as a trilogy it went in as a trilogy. It feels like a 120+ game spread over three chapters.
Last Story is in as it's one of only a few wii games I've finished, and more importantly the best JRPG I've played this gen. I know your all going to tell me how much better xenoblade is, I own it but still yet to play it.
Skyward Sword is there as it's my second favorite zelda behind wind waker, it's my most played wii game by a mile, motion controls were great. A lot will say twilight princess is better (the vote even says so) but to me that's a GameCube game.
Gears of War 2 is in there as it improved so much on the 1st, made gears series a big title for the xbox platforms (bound to be one on the one), single player was great and has the near tear-jerking moment, great co-op play, brought us horde mode which seemed fresh at the time, and of course multiplayer. it's one of a few games that I really got into the multiplayer, playing it months / years after.
If you want to know reason's for any others let me know.
