| I remember how excited I was when I read in NGamer that Paper Mario was coming out on the Virtual Console. I hadn't seen a copy of it in the wild since around Christmas 2001, when I saw it in Electronics Boutique for a tenner and left it so I could get Gex: Deep Cover Gecko instead. I even remember taking my Wii to my mates' house so I could use his wireless internet to download it. It's such a good game (even if it does take a while to get going) and it kept me entertained during the Wii's early barren spell.
There are few better ways to spend £15 than by downloading Paper Mario and Mario Tennis 64 on the Virtual Console.
~
Sticker Star is what I wish all the Paper Mario games were like. It's a really smart set-up that suits handheld gaming brilliantly. Just a shame that some of the puzzles go down the Zack & Wiki route of being completely illogical and that there's a criminal lack of direction. It's good stuff otherwise. |

| There's a good game in there somewhere. Perhaps the reason I enjoy it more than others is that the RPG elements are less prevalent. Doesn't go mental with the chat, either.
EDIT: What's for lunch? 8th place, that's what. Be with you in the next few hours. |

| I reckon there's a good chance of TTYD showing up still, I prefer it to Paper Mario so I hope so anyway. Also there's nothing wrong with Super, it's just not quite as good! |

| Sticker Star has fallen on the 'can't be arsed to finish' pile alongside Thousand Year Door, sadly. As much as I wanted to like TTYD, it felt like way too much of a rehash, and the X-Nauts made for really gash villains. Sticker Star offended me by rendering its own battle system pointless and being far too obtuse.
I realise that my thoughts about TTYD may get me involuntarily castrated. |

| Hey kids, dry those tears - here's number eight on our list. - In eighth place...:
8th: Mario Kart 64TOTAL NUBER OF VOTES: 26 NUMBER OF FIRST PLACE VOTES: 0 STU_THE_GREAT SAYS - - Quote :
- Forget Super Mario 64, this was the game that sold me on the N64. This was also the last game in the Mario Kart franchise, in my opinion, that got the balance between fun and frustration just right.
NINTENDO GAMER MAGAZINE SAYS - - Quote :
- The best multiplayer Mario Kart by a distance.
I SAY -Not only is this my most played Mario game, but it embodies the appeal of Nintendo for me as well. Casually enjoyable as a multiplayer party game, but really demanding if you're into Time Trails. Other than graphically, I don't feel it's greatness has detoriated much at all since I first played it in summer 1997. Fourth on my own list.

| My tears return. Tad disappointed with that one as it's my least favourite Mario Kart. Ho hum, bring on number 7! |

| Nowhere near as good as several other games in the series. Graphically decrepit, tracks such as Rainbow Road and Wario Stadium (yes) bring down the greats of Banshee Boardwalk and Sherbet Land. Red shells were buggered, too. The only things that could possibly put it up over later entries were a couple of brilliant shortcuts, and setting up an infinite green shell hell in Block Fort. Next!

| Nonsense! It's got great music, sharp corners and adora-deadly penguins: what more do you want? On the other hand, Rainbow Road really is in the running for the worst track in the series. |

| Confession time: Mario Kart 64 was propelled into the top ten by my vote. I added mine after 9am yesterday (when voting was closed to all of you) and the seven points I gave it rose it from scraping the top fifteen-or-so all the way into eighth. There are games you'll not see in the coming days that were put forward by more people, but Mario Kart 64 edged them thanks to three big-ish votes and one middle-ish vote. |

| I feel certain that Thousand Year Door will show up at some point, otherwise something has gone very wrong.
I didn't vote Mario Kart 64 in to my top ten. Top notch game when it was released, but it seems so dated now. I'll be shaking my head if there aren't another two Mario Kart games in the chart. |

| Honestly, I'll be chuffed if that's the only two Mario Karts in the list. They're my two favourites (Double Dash usurping 64 by some way) and I don't think I can stomach this distinct lack of platformers any longer. |

| I voted one Mario Kart higher than DD!! in my list, but I wouldn't mind missing it out. We need more platformers (and RPGS) in the top slots. I want the 2D ones (SMW a certainty, SMB3 not unlikely) out of the way quickly, because in my mind they're decidedly inferior to most of their 3D cousins. |

| I think this vote will be more surprising than I had thought. I can definitely see some high-profile Mazza platforming games missing out on a high placing. |

There's some really high-profile (like, even more high-profile than beemoh, that's how high-profile) stuff that's not on the list. It just shows me how strong the Mario series really is. |

| I've honestly no idea what's going to be next, however I bet Bowsers Inside Story and the Galaxy duo make it to the top five so I will say if either of those are next I'll be surprised. |

| Speculation: Mario Galaxy 2 won't place.
Next up... a NES platformer I reckon. |

| Wow, I haven't had a clue so far what was coming. Mario kart 64 was the only one that might have made my list. A great drinking game. - JayMoyles wrote:

Maaaaan, I really wish I'd got my arse in gear and voted now.
