I really don't. I play a lot of games on Switch and before that, even so recently as the 3DS, my line-ups were quite sparse. The eShop really has skewed my buying habits!
Anyway, I've now come up with the list. At some point I'll put it into picture form because nobody wants to read 100 game titles, only to find Infinite Space at 90. Well, Andy doesn't anyway.

Currently rinsing Forza Horizon 4 - thanks Mas! It's a bit Ubisoft with its map, but an utter delight driving around Edinburgh. I can see why it's rated so highly.

Forza Horizon 5 has also gone into my Top 100 around the 60s.
Waiting on the Balla list but did go back through yours gJones and others to make a bit if wants list which I already bought Outrun 2 and Klonoa.

All right. It's time.
Balladeer's Top Hundred Games That He's Played Of Interest To Maybe Two People Here Number 94 will surprise you!
Unfortunately I have no idea how to make them all into one image like Mas so you'll have to click through to the link. That's definitely the easiest way to digest 100 games: however, that site has flaws. Flaws like, using the American names over the clearly superior British ones, or only letting you pick one game where it obviously should be two, or in one case (no. 49) flagging what was effectively the game's menu rather than the game itself. So, for the certifiable, I include below in text my Top Hundred Games That I've Played Not Including Tears Of The Kingdom And Its Knock-On Effects.
Words everywhere:
1 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Super Mario Odyssey 3 Paper Mario and the Thousand-Year Door 4 Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective 5 Metroid Prime (Remastered) 6 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 7 Super Smash Bros. There now follow a bunch of numerical analyses of my own games because I'm a massive nerd. Please don't pedant at them unless your correction will materially change anything (looking at you Mas (even if you're probably the only person who'll open these spoilers)).
Analysis by platform:
All games are given based on the first Nintendo platform they showed up on where possible (Virtual Consoles et al. don't count), with one exception.
1 each: Game Boy Colour, Mega Drive, Windows 3 GBA 4 SNES 5 N64 6 Wii U 9 3DS 11 Wii 14 GameCube 16 DS (including FFIIIDS - look I never would have played the NES version, ever) 29 Switch
Notable omissions: NES on a technicality, Game Boy likewise
Analysis by genre:
I've tried to fit everything into a genre. Yes you'll disagree with some of the assignments. Heck, I disagree with some of the assignments (is pinball a sport?). I don't care.
1 each: stealth, rhythm, run-and-gun, party, chance, minigames 2: action/brawler (inc KIU) 2: fighting 3: racing 5: puzzle (inc Murder by Numbers) 5: adventure/point-and-click (inc Hotel Dusk) 6: sports (inc 3D Pinball, What the Golf?) 6: visual novel (inc Ace Attorney) 6: Metroidvania 15: action-adventure 16: platformer 27: JRPG (inc Beast Breaker) and 1 of whatever Monkey Ball 2 is. Mostly a party game for me to be honest.
Notable omissions: WRPG, strategy, any form of pure shooter (although KIU and Gunstar Heroes are tenuous)
Analysis by company:
Usually the publisher. Some issues where publishers merge, or where there are different publishers in different countries. Resolved by who owns the IP now if I could find it out and it made sense, and after that my own whimsy.
1 each: Falcom, EA, Maxis (pre-merger) 2: UbiSoft (f**kin' boo) 2: Drinkbox 2: Team 17 2: Sega 2: Marvelous 3: Level-5 3: Namco Bandai (inc Meteos) 4: The Pokémon Company 5: Square Enix 8: Capcom 52: Nintendo (is that all?) and 12 other indies, making the total indie count 16 if you include Drinkbox and Team 17.
Notable omissions: Atlus
Analysis by franchise:
2 each: TWEWY, Kirby, Okami, Hotel Dusk, Mii, Layton, Wario(Ware), Final Fantasy, Luigi's Mansion 3: Xenoblade 3: Metroid (of which 2 Prime) 4: Pokémon 5: Ace Attorney 5: Mario competitions (of which 2 Kart) 6: Mario RPG 7: Mario (excl Yoshi's Island) 8: Zelda and 16 games that were the only ones in their IP, leaving 25 games that are the only entries in their franchise to make the list.
Notable omissions: Starfox, Fire Emblem, Mario Party
And finally, some remarks from me on the list in general and the stats. Honestly you should skip the five spoilers above and come straight here.
Comments:
It's a lot duller than I hoped for to be honest. I think you can see the pattern where I only really get into Nintendo games until I hit the DS, then branch out a bit (mostly into JRPGs) but Nintendo still dwarfs the competition with its quality, and then starting on Wii U but exploding on Switch I play a lot more third-party stuff and smaller games. Of those 16 indie games, 15 are on Switch (and then Guacamelee on Wii U).
My enthusiasm line is somewhere between game 50 and 57. Games 49 and above I'll be a bit of an evangelist for, games 58 and below - well they're all good, but I won't sing their praises nearly as much. Apart from 3D Pinball obviously, that was a belter of a freebie. Eat yer heart out Wii Sports.
That hundredth game could have been Pokémon Stadium 2, WarioWare, Picross 3D, or Luigi's Mansion 2 - and was at times. It'll likely have shifted again by the time you read this.
Platform analysis isn't anything too surprising I don't think: Switch far and away ahead because of my recency bias, DS and GameCube shortly after, and then a drop-off that gets starker as the tech gets older. Neither are the big-ticket items in genre (although Mario and dubious genre choices mean sports games is healthier than I thought) or company (Nintendo with an overpowering emphasis, Capcom a creditable AA-fuelled second). Zelda pips mainline Mario to the post in franchises, although of course Mario's reach is far broader (and arguments can and will rage over Yoshi's Island, mostly from Mas).
Things I'm surprised not to see more of: rhythm games, Pokémon games, Namco Bandai, Square Enix.
My final thought is saved for Mario RPGs. At 6 games, the third-most of any 'franchise' by my questionable definition, yet unlikely to ever add to that number. Alphadream has gone, and Paper Mario doesn't do RPGs any more. A properly great branch of game, lost to a company that didn't really know what to do with it. I love Nintendo but they can be very silly sometimes.

Odd you've had issues with the site. I don't know about gJones and Cappa, but I've found it to be real easy to you use, and because of that made loads of lists like Top PS2 or Top 6th gen lists.
Like the stats part as who doesn't love a list, mine looks like this
Systems:
As in the first system I played it on e.g. OoT is GameCube to me not N64 and OoT3D the better version now.
64 Japanese 24 North America 9 Europe 3 Australian
IP:
41 One Entry 9 Mario (All) 5 Zelda 5 Metal Gear 3 Persona 3 Final Fantasy 3 Halo 3 Resident Evil 3 Pokémon 3 Kingdom Hearts 2 The Last of Us 2 Fire Emblem 2 Forza 2 God of War 2 Uncharted 2 Sonic 2 Shenmue 2 SoulCalibur 2 Telltale 2 Ori 2 Silent Hill
Think we share 20 games Balla, but you've got ones I do like a lot on there like Ni No Kuni which I think I had in my Top 300+ before I narrowed down and things I want to play such as Muramasa which on the wants list I made and others I hope maybe get a remaster like Prime 2 or go on sale like Fata Morgana.
Will say FFIV seems an odd one and not VI, like I get III due to the remaster. I like these lists a lot, and have said in the past that gJones list might have the most variety, but I think if I had yours I would have a great time as I do like a Nintendo JRPG.

Blimey that's some good stat-ing guys.
I can't do mine as I'm up to 921 now
One thing I have been keeping (I think this stems from the "best year in gaming" thread!) is the year each game is released. Pleasing I'm finding it's not just nostalgia; I play fewer games in these times, but the ones I am playing are breaking into top lists. Games are getting better, people!

Ironic that Balladeer's list couldn't appear visually, as the most striking thing about it is the artwork for each game. It's very colourful, driven by characters/mascots and I suspect 90% of the games are Japanese. It's probably the most interesting list here, which has a lot in common with what the Top 100 Official Nintendo Magazine did in their final issues. On the one hand, it's blinkered by being Nintendo only, but on the other, it demonstrates how rich the libraries of Nintendo consoles can be, and perhaps aren't always credited for being.

Ooft, kind! I thought it was quite dull myself, up until the Switch anyway. I think the Switch's indie explosion is definitely responsible for a lot of that richness. I will say that I definitely don't feel like I need another machine, from a time perspective anyway. There's so much to play on Switch. (JRPGs being my most-played genre helps there, natch.)

You're probably not far off: 80 of them are from big Japanese publishers, not sure about the indies. I've always had a fondness for the colourful over the grim or the realistic! That's another reason why I'm not that fussed about missing out on the other platforms, not since the Dreamcast anyway. If I were going to get another machine this generation it'd be a Playdate.

Bastard thing just kept restarting mid-list. Maybe it didn't like my cookie settings.
You having a slant towards Sony doesn't surprise me at all, although the companies redress that somewhat! ('9 Konami 5 Kojima' is peak Mas.) You do like a Nintendo RPG, after all. Quite funny that, despite that and our (largely but not entirely!) different lists, we have much the same taste in genres.

Much though I love exploration, my favourite kinds of games have tightly designed linear experiences in broader explorable worlds. I like open worlds and freedom a lot less than I like scripted, hand-crafted paths. BotW and TotK are exceptions, because (each story path within them has more scripting and) their worlds are vibrant and beautiful. FFVI's second half does not have this same quality.

Yeah, Japanese! Games for me this year out of the 32 things I've finished this half been Japanese and not sure all the indies where from, and 16 things on Nintendo.

It is... I don't like the DS version as much. They've got rid of the massive post-game dungeons and the ability to play as all the characters in the ending that the GBA version had, and the voice acting ain't that great. GBA version is best for me.

EDGE Magazine has just published it’s thirtieth anniversary issue, and it features poll in which readers, writers and folk involved with the gaming industry voted on their top hundred games since 1993. That means Rolo To The Rescue on the Mega Drive wasn’t eligible, but regardless, they did it anyway. It’s here if you didn’t read it before:
The poll preview that’s in the magazine mentions several series that took votes away from one another, such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and Dragon Quest and Fire Emblem. Same goes for the first three Tony Hawk games as well as Burnout 3 and Burnout Paradise; genuinely one of my first thoughts when I scanned the list was is wondering where Burnout 3 was.
What do you think – is EDGE’s list anywhere close to what you’d have put together? I can spot an almighty sixteen that I think would definitely by on my personal top 100.

It's decent. Is this 'Best' or 'Favourite'? 21 would feature in my list of favourites.
95. Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast 93. Yakuza 0 88. Fallout 3 81. Super Mario Galaxy 2 77. Bayonetta 67. Chrono Trigger 63. Shenmue 59. Advance Wars 56. Rez 54. Mario Kart 8 52. Inside 46. Pokémon Red/Blue 35. Metroid Prime 34. Spelunky 29. Tetris Effect 24. Goldeneye 007 18. Grand Theft Auto III 11. Super Mario Galaxy 5. Resident Evil 4 4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3. Super Mario 64
Goldeneye and GTAIII featuring so high (and Shenmue to a lesser degree) indicate the current Edge staff are the same age as us lot. Huzzah!

I do give reasoning behind them but not till the Top 25, as we thought if I do that for all 100 be there for ages.
I think for Daves or Craig's list they may just do Top 25 not 100 but I did bring up that I'd like to know what's the highest Dreamcast game on Daves list for instance, which would me doing all 100 in someway.

'Greatest' is so nebulous, and Edge's top ten reflects that. It makes perfect sense that you might, instead of talking about the best playing experience now, pick the games which have had the greatest impact. But then why is BotW above OoT? Why is Halo above Doom? Why is anything above SM64? I much prefer either 'best' or 'favourite' as headings for these sort of things.
Anyway, I tend to find one person's list more meaningful than an amalgamation, apart from when it comes to going 'well you're all wrong because you don't have the same choices as me'. Which they are, of course.

Seeing other forumites rank their favourite games at the end of past calendar years convinced me to do that for myself in 2022. When gjones introduced ggapp.info to us in the spring, I converted my Word document list into that website’s pictorial format and updated it every so often when I’d finished a handful more games.
Here’s my 2022 in gaming: my top 118 games that I completed last year, because I know you’ll uniquely, deeply and personally care:
Once again I catalogued all the games I completed across the last calendar year, which started out with Super Mario World in the first week of January and finished up with Astro Boy: Omega Factor a few days before the bells. I’ve loosely ranked the 106 of them from best to worst if you’re arsed:
On reflection, 2023 was very good year of gaming for me and my tastes. I experienced loads of quality stuff across Switch, Evercade, mobile and my various retro consoles. Even those games I’ve ranked 80th or so are perfectly all right, there weren’t too many disappointments at all.

There's a lot I don't recognise there! I'm going to assume most of it's Evercade stuff that I'll never play, but Demons of Asteburg, Hole Down, and (at the other end of the spectrum) 64th Street all look interesting at least.
My year... I'll probably talk more about that in the awards. An odd one.

I was thinking the same - Cappa, are you just making game names up and trolling us? At least one positive is that, in this day and age, many more games are "good" at a basic level, or maybe even excellent, even if they end up unknown.

After Paper Mario TTYD's Switch remaster made me reconsider how to define a 10/10, I've had a bit of a rethink. The following are now my top 11 games of all time and the only games I'd stamp a 10/10 onto:
Mario Odyssey Breath of the Wild Ghost Trick Smash Bros. Ultimate Celeste Twilight Princess Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe) Metroid Prime (Remastered) Untitled Goose Game Meteos Paper Mario TTYD (Switch)
Yep, it's clinging on the bottom now. Meanwhile Celeste has shot up the pile, thanks to the acknowledgement that a 10/10 can have substantial flaws if everything else is good enough that you forget those flaws in retrospect. And yes, Goose Game's in the list too, doing what it does too well for its short length to throw it out. Honk.

Nothing new would appear in the Top 30 list that I put on here a few pages back and in April 2022. For my own Top 100 though, from the last two years Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby & The Forgotten Land, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Horace and TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge would definitely find their way onto there somewhere, and perhaps Penny’s Big Breakaway, Demons of Asteborg and Pikmin 4 would too. It’s been a belting couple of years for me and my gaming tastes.
