Anyone going to be on Skypee for the Smash Direct?

Yes! I posted in the Smash thread, but I shall be there!

No skype, but I enjoyed. It was done in a blink of the eye, anyway.

This was easily the greatest Direct Nintendo has done in a very long while. No fat, no filler, just raw announcements and nitty gritty detail!

Of course, jokes aside, I had zero reaction because I've been talking about this direct as though it had already been announced. The only surprise is that it's on Friday not Saturday.

But how is a Pokemon direct disappointing? I don't know if you will or not be able to Drunka but the Podcast up before Friday's Direct would be great, then all you guys can listen and anticipated if we predicted anything or not.

Because I neither care about a new Pokemon, or one of its hundred shite spin off series. We could do with some solid information on some games for Eu, especially Fire Emblem, not 5 minutes of pokemon.

I was going to post a certain gif for talking shit about Pokemon but I remember your name Crumpy.

Not going to lie when I seen a new post for this topic I was excited & then when I seen drunka say it was only for pokemon my heart sank into the depths where the basilisks roam & curse people.

There was an addendum to the Nintendo Life article that said the Direct was only going to be 5 minutes long. If that's the case, it's less of a Nintendo Direct and more of a YouTube video with a fanfare.

Nonetheless, more Directs are good - keep their hand in for something more wide-ranging in the future.

Really...? That's disappointing. Hopefully it's not just a "here's the 3DS VC releases for R/B/Y, go enjoy them folks!"

My predictions for the Pokérect (That sounded better in my head) are : Introduction, teaser for pokémon Z, reminder about blue/red/yellow, end.
I can't see it needing more than 5 minutes or so.

So, the business with it being five minutes: there was a vague mention by Nintendo about "five minutes of video", which could refer to the whole thing or one of the things on it.

My friends and I are working during the Direct itself, so we want to all watch it together later in the evening. This means I need a link straight to the youtube version of the Direct sent to me, as a private message on facebook or twitter. I can't search for it or knock about online because I don't want it spoiled. Any of you hit me up?

Yep. It's not like they'll cover anything important in five minutes anyway, certainly nothing that couldn't be done with a few tweets and a standard youtube video.

In a time when we need information clarifying release dates for games they are intentionally delaying for god knows what reason making a direct for such meagre content is just taking the piss.

It all just makes you wonder what school of incompetent advertising everyone at Nintendo went to.

It depends I reckon you can go welcome to this direct on Feb 27th Pokemon will be celebrating it's 20th anniversary, please be excited to be able to download R/B/Y for just £8.99 on the eShop. That's not just what else we got Pokken coming in March for Wii U please be excited, this summer we've got are whole new Pokemon experience with Pokemon for smart devices.

Then cut to black with a few bits then more black then ending with please be excited for E3 which Masuda will be at.

They showed a bit in the 1 minute long Train On video which was more of commercial.

Been watching some vids and X&Y had a 11 minute direct back when it was announced which only 3mins was about X&Y, the rest was a retrospective. With 5mins they could easily show Z, XZ or YZ as a sequel to X&Y ala Black2 & White2.

Also on Magearna, back in the day after Ruby & Sapphire people thought what ever Pokemon shown was going to be for gen IV as wasn't in R&S anywhere not even as code but ended up in Emerald that Magearna could do the same and Z or XZ/YZ with the new story based around Magearna.

Mind slapping a spoiler tag on that as well Mas? I know it's in a spoiler box, but might be worth saying it's spoilery news. I was coming here to post that myself, but don't want it to catch out anyone who wants to remain unspoiled.
