| Good Episode,
I also put forward Chaos Theory (As I don't see MGS as Stealth) which I'm glad is in and not the craziness of Andy wanting to put Blacklist in.
That would be on a stealth burn pile, they should do that reserve week where they pick three games to burn. |

| Sunk over 50 hours in to Blacklist, and still haven't completed it. I prefer Conviction's story, but Blacklist is a good Splinter Cell. I've not played Chaos Theory since it came out (2004?) so not sure if it still stands up, but the one Splinter Cell I didn't enjoy was Double Agent. |

| What's wrong with Blacklist? It's so fluid and fun. I couldn't get on with the old ones because they're clunky (not as clunky as MGS though...). It may not be the most revolutionary game or anything, but it's the most solid all round stealth game I've played. |

| The old ones are the good ones though (like with most things), Chaos Theory was & still is the pinnacle of that series, it nailed stealth also Spies vs Mercs was excellent over Xbox Live just a fantastic game for the genre all round.
@gjones I quite liked Double Agent but I think it might of had a bit of new game on a new console syndrome if played on 360 (the xbox version was a different game) but seemed to lose a bit of the stealth of the series and so have the others in ways.
I'm not saying either conviction or blacklist are bad games there just bad splinter cells / games of the genre. |

| I need to get catching up with these again, I also really enjoyed Blacklist & in terms of controls etc I somehow don't see the old splinter cell games holding up that well in comparison. |

| Neither would of held up well by the year 3000 But it is a interesting point about how does it hold up as take MGS, Andy says it's clunky yet it's still always brought up in any sort of Top 100 games list. Is it rose-tinted glasses, nostalgia or because we played it when it was new a shiny we've got no issues on how it plays now as were used to it. |

| It's all 3 of those things. The ideas may hold up and the fact it was revolutionary is in no doubt, but they've aged very poorly. |

| Unless your Drunka who had no problem with MGS which he didn't play till last year was it.
I do wonder as well if let's say in 10-20 years time and EDGE do a Top 100 which The Last of Us quite high up will kids that didn't play it when it was new will go that's aged badly and were all going nope is really good (actually I won't but you get my point). |

| I'm finally all caught up on the recent podcasts and they are excellent as always, the jam with the band segments have lost their appeal for me now though as the last few have been done pretty well. Also I did get a favourite and RT from their twitter account the other day when I mentioned that the Space ARK theme (which is superb btw) reminds me of war of the worlds with a hint of quantum leap. |

Saw this and forgot to reply. I love Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds! Did you ever see it live? |

Nope, will give that a listen at some point tomorrow. - Drunkalilly wrote:

| I was in primary school I think as well. My dad had it on vinyl and the combination of the big book of paintings and the haunting music was terrifying and captivating. I've never quite let go of it, and was lucky enough to see it in Birmingham last year. |

| Episode 17 had me in stitches. Best space ark yet, I was guffawing at the bit with the hamster eye and what the committee thought of the vote to preserve Deadly Creatures. |

| See even Jimbob thinks Okami is that good.
I didn't send one in this week but I was thinking of games you play as a actual animal / more animal then Fox McCloud.
But how on earth wasn't a Sonic game or Crash Bandicoot not even nominated. |

| I'm a bit behind, sorry (haven't listened to episode 17 yet), but I did love the part of episode 16 where they went back and read the old pieces of writing. Very funny stuff. |

| I thought this was one of the best "What Have You Been Playing?" segments they've done. Usually they don't keep my interest, mostly being about multi-format games I'll never play, but this was a corker. |

| Episode 18's up! And the team's more disturbed than ever. Just wanted to expand a bit more about the point above as well: one thing that Matthew is very good at, which Mark (and indeed most people) isn't as much, is keeping my interest in the big games I'll never play. When it comes to Alan's iOS offerings, they're easier to make interesting, because I've never heard about them. I know more than I could want to about The Witcher 3, yet Matthew managed to keep my interest and make me laugh with his talk of pinballing heads and gobbling food. Top man. |

| Just caught up with The Rotating Platform! TRP 18 was no fun for me, what with not being interested in Witcher 3 (and feeling sad for Alan sidelining himself; I like his forages into mobile gaming), feeling weird about NPC-bothering and the Space Ark criteria leading to very few games actually getting in there. Still, 17 was ace. |

| See, I'm not interested in TW3 either, not in the slightest, but yet Matthew's stories of funny happenings still made me laugh. Mark's discourse, however, I found rather boring. (Apart from following the severed head.) |
