Subject: 2015 New Years Cheer and Resolutions! Wed 31 Dec 2014 - 13:51
The turn of a year is slowly creeping across the globe as I speak having just passed my time zone! Happy new years are in order!
The act of making resolutions (that will likely find themselves broken withing forty eight hours) is also part of the fun, so what's everyone going to resolve to do this year!
Me, just the humble act of avoiding chocolate. The dastards have been destroying my wallet for the last few months, small though they may be they have gobbled up almost three hundred dollars! :affraid: So enough I say! From this year forwards I make the resolution, no more daily small pack of ferrero rocher!
On to 2015!
On a slightly more serious note, it could just be me but for some reason the moment the day ticked over I feel like things are looking up again. All the doom and gloom vibes that have been around for ages feel. . . gone.

Interestingly, I have just posted this list on Facebook:
"1) Finish composing my currently active piano piece. This will also require me to buy an electric piano.
2) Finish the first draft of the novel that I started in November. With regular writing sessions and next November, this should be a cinch. Should.
3) Strengthen my singing voice, if only by practising singing most days. The Christmas concert showed that I really need to do this.
4) Reduce time spent on the Internet (when not following the strings of numbers and more numbers that make up cricket) to a session in the morning and evening, and maybe one in the early afternoon. So, like the opposite of what I'm doing now.
5) Improve my Russian. This is the "extra" one, for if I get the others sorted: a sort of "bonus goal" for 2015. But I used to be keen on languages, and have let it slip. As I have many things."
I don't give things up for Christmas. I don't smoke, I don't take drugs, I don't even drive, and I happen to really like alcohol and chocolate, in moderation.

No-one here speaks Npob though.
Resolution - actually to get round to making a proper videogame. Actually do it this year. I got a cool piece of music software for my birthday, and I need something to write music for; Im gonna be disciplined.

Beverages Rimington - the now-traditional Drunka January character has arrived!
Firstly, a happy new year to y'all! For me, 2015 is the year of Marty McFly, so keep an eye out for those telltalle (ha!) twin tracks of flame on the roads.
Secondly, resolutions include getting fit and trying to enjoy the games I have more, rather than rush out to buy more.

Might I suggest a chrome extension (it may be available of firefox too) called 'waste no time'? it has a special button that allows you to block the internet for you for a set period of time spare whichever site you've put on your allow list. It's jolly useful.

I've got something similar on Firefox, called Leechblock. Going to set it for half an hour right now, to do some study...

The usual "lose weight, work harder", but one big one is that I really want to achieve is to actively start writing about games. I'm coming to the end of my degree and I need to find something to focus my creative energy on. Videogaming is probably my biggest hobby and I'd have a lot to say on it. Maybe I'll blow some dust off the old blog and start actively updating it again with a gaming-centric focus.
