Pets are awesome

Mostly the photo, he's fairly lean when he's walking around.  Yet when he lies down what fat there is around the stomach couples with his long fur making him look overweight as heck.   Might further reduce his meal sizes a tad, being an indoor kitty cuts out a lot of energy usage.

Must be tough to keep the balance. I hear it's better to keep them indoors overall, but they're wild animals at heart and it must be tempting to let them get rid of the chub that way.

I have some bad experiences with letting cats outside from my childhood, so I honestly don't have much of a temptation to let him out.  The area is too dangerous anyway, I'm one block away from a busy freeway and I've seen no less than four adult cats in the block radius between me and the train station.  Given his penchant for curiosity and how he sometimes even attacks his own reflection in the back door (which is always hilarious, he darts in batting it then runs off up the hallway) it's just asking for trouble.  That's not even factoring in the threat to the local birds (and he is most definitely a hunter.  He sometimes even stalks me when he's especially frisky).  

Anyway MORE WAYNE!  As an aside he's actually smaller in real life than he looks in these photo's, you'd think he's a giant big tomcat but he's actually on the more petite end of the spectrum.  But it's safe to say he's more cat than kitten now, physically at any rate.  Still a mischievous little scamp though, and he talks all the time.  I thought he might grow out of that, but nope.  If I say anything I'll get a reply more often than not.  It's nice.  He's a little sidekick, follows me wherever I go, will always sit on my lap if given half a chance, and always meows for my company when I come home.  

Sounds like a Pokémon! That fighting his reflection is just him training up.

This is Max who my uncle was looking after over Christmas due to his owner going to her sisters for Christmas, who has 2 cats who don't like dogs before even trying to find out if Max likes cats.

Hello Max! I'm sure he would like cats. I'm not sure whether as friends or dinner at this moment.

From my experience, it's cats that end up not liking dogs than anything else and they tend to antagonise the puppers after a while whilst the dogs are content to sit there doing nothing to the cats.

I think that's what happened with a previous dog and why Max didn't go see the cats.

I don't know if we will see him again next year, guess it all depends where his owner goes.

Yeah, cats can be pretty mean to dogs when they want to be.  They may have the size disadvantage, but there are few things as small as a cat that can be more terrifying than a grown man.  Pissed off cat are right up there with angry badgers in animals you do not want to cross.

Favourite sleeping position!  Yes, he loves to sleep with his back completely twisted like that.  And yes, he is that furry.

Having spent the last two posts of mine on Wayne calling him tubby, he's got proper sleek now! Cats in ridiculous sleeping positions is one of the cutest things: more please! (Also other pets.)

We had my sister's boyfriend's mum's dog (that was a ridiculous string of words to put together ) at my mum's for Christmas this year. Poor wee lass is going blind though, so she kept bumping into tables and walls.

There are so many potential jokes I don't know where to begin. However, I would like to see pictures of this big green boy as well.

Not allowed pets in my flat, or at least definitely not ones that can roam about. Hoping to move into a place with an additional bedroom in the Summer though. Would like to raise an Axolotl in the study if we can get away with it. At least then there might be something else here that yawns more than me.

I know with fish they're a hobby not a pet, and I know when I had a Cockatiel he was always fine where ever we lived because he lived in a cage. That I do think the whole no pet thing is for cats and dogs that will be running around the house.

Anyway we have this chap with us for two weeks


Normally he has the whole conservatory to his self at my grandparents, where here he's gone into the kitchen with an old rabbit hutch from the shed.
