They are adorable. What was the inspiration for their names?

Mysie is a Scottish name, and while The Lady's accent is as English as they come her mum is by birth 100% Scottish.

My brother once wanted to name our family pet cat "Megatron", which in retrospect would have been really funny but I won the day with Jess, named after Postman Pat's black and white cat.

Ha, The Lady's mum has a cat called Jess!  Although usually referred to as "Fluffbutt".  She's very fluffy.

Anyway, these two are charming, despite the number of scratches I've already picked up.

I adore less when Winter attempts to get his claws into the litter bin liner, the chairs, and my duvet cover. Also, he is a sweetie and I love him to pieces (of fabric/my skin).

Played some Little Kitty, Big City which you can name the cat and as it is a Black Cat called it Winter.

They are both very very sweet, Balla. I also have a black cat with a white tuft though so obviously I have a slight favourite out of the two.

Weird thought like I know one is calico and other umm a black cat but like I could name you a hundred breeds of dog but cats I'm like that's a ginger one, a black one, a grey one and so on of just colours.

That's because cats in general weren't bred into weird shapes to do specific tasks, like dogs - they've mostly just been cat shaped. There are a few specific breeds, but the majority are just "moggy" intermingled ones.

You do get the odd breed, like British shorthairs and Maine Coons and sphinxes (all worth googling for different reasons) - but Jim's right, they're mostly plain moggies. Healthier that way too! Fun fact: basically all calicos are female, and basically all ginger cats are male.

Pictures of Rum's cat maybe? I named Winter and he's an affable idiot, so I found him easier to love - but Mysie's become a right old soppy puss recently. When she's not eating plastic.

Anyway they both got neutered on Friday so Mysie in particular was very unhappy. Now just as she's started to recover, Winter's got conjunctivitis. It's all go...

It makes sense, just thought we'd know some more cat breeds of by heart.

Edit as Purina has 46 breeds listed of cats, which some I do know like Maine Coon, Siamese, Sphynx.

I think the Lykoi cat breed is pretty cool looking as well.

I had to check that was a real thing and not out of a video game. Apparently they're really affectionate as well.

Yes Norman! What a good lad. That top picture is very much like Winter, only Winter looks a little dimmer. 10/10 would cuddle and pay for it.

I like the way Norman has a super-mega fun/hidey cat tunnel so sit and plan things in, but chooses the cardboard box. And Mysie's point-and-click focus may me useful in your more senior years Balla.
