Poor kid. Despite what he says, he sounds bitterly disappointed to me.

Looks like Molyneux continues to fail to deliver on promises.

I've always felt that Molly had a massive imagination and vision, that he lets rampage unchecked by reality. He's like a big kid, only people take him seriously. I don't think he's deliberately a liar, just out of touch with... most things.

What Molyneux really needs is a buffer - someone who can shut him down and tell him "no, this is too much". Unfortunately in this case, he's being allowed to run rampant again. He has great ideas, but his execution of them is so so flawed - I remember the first Fable was promising a living, dynamic world that would constantly be changing as you progress, and what we got was far from his promises.

Molyneux has always been a strange figure in gaming to me. He's had about as many misses as hits, from what I can tell, and yet he's still more than capable of building hype for his projects. Then, as Jay says, he promises the universe and delivers a county, at best.

I would have agreed a few years ago, but it seems as though the same exact story plays out with every game. Even if he believed what he was saying early on, he ought to have learned by now.

Really? Well, let's not hold our breath, eh? The man needs publicity like he needs oxygen.

Fair enough he's enraged his Kickstarter backers, but I don't think there'd be quite this much of a hoo-hah if he treated Scot Henderson with a little more respect. There will be no God of Gods role/prize for him if every player's got bored and moved on.

Peter Molyneux is the gaming industry equivalent to Kevin Rudd. Unrealistic promises, everybody but myself is to blame attitude, and a dire need to make the world about him.

I want to like Peter Molyneux; he does always sound like a nice guy, and has always been keen to do smaller discussions and quirky things... but he never learns. Every time, he has to tell everyone of his grand plan, before (a) he's thought about how likely it is, and (b) how much effort it'd take to do these things. That Curiosity thing's very sad (although, if you thought that hitting the last block in Block Hitter would make you Superman, well...)

He makes a good point, actually. Since my earlier post, I've had a bit of a change of heart.
