I've said to everyone at work that I will be bringing in my Wii U if I have to work on the day that this is released.. I've been wanting to play it again for so long it's not funny.
And I missed out on the Zelda 3DS (not by choice) so I'll probably miss the Zelda Wii U as well

My theory is that the delayed big update will allow you to transfer data between Wii Us, and that means we can buy the new console.

That would make sense, especially as I can't think of anything else it can do apart from maybe speed up load screens a little more

So, apparently we get a figurine for just £15 more.
Also, I've come up with a convoluted solution to get that gamepad, even if Nintendo don't add a Wii U > Wii U transfer service.
This hinges on the fact that the Wii U console is just the same and the only apparent difference is in the gamepad.
Buy new Zelda Wii U with lovely game pad. Link (pun intended) the Zelda game pad to existing console. Unlink the old game pad from my existing console. Sell New Wii U console with old Gamepad. Profit?

Preordered the Figure edition, in the video of it. It says special edition game but not seen anything different about the goal.
It could work with console be £250, your going to pay £45 retail any way for game, so £205 for console reckon you'll get £180 for a standard black console, so £25ish to have gold trim on the pad.

Looking great, I think this is the first time I've seen the gamepad being used apart from the miiverse stuff.

Remember when at Hyper Japan how we just sauntered up to the WWHD booth and played the game like it was nothing? The queues at PAX Prime were two hours long.

The music's been redone! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg-QhB6fVw4&feature=player_embedded
At first I was opposed to it, but it fits the original music so well that I'm quite fond of the arrangement.
As long as it doesn't stray too far from the original sound (like Star Fox 64 3D did, which ended up making it feel like an imitation of the original), I'm happy.

Honestly, I can't tell too much of a difference. The Wii U version sounds muted: that's it.

Read the iwata asks. Lots of (laughs).
To anyone who has read some of the reviews; are the people dishing out 7s and 8s saying that's all the game is worth, or its it the remake factor? (I'm not reading reviews because I didn't finish it on cube and I don't want spoilers)

IGN with there 9.8 basically said that nintendo have made the best 3D zelda even better and feels like brand new game not 10 years old.
GT who gave it 7.8 said It's basically the same game, with the same problems and you've been there got the t-shirt but still good. But they gave OoT3D a 9.2, so not sure what there beef is.
Also lot saying it's a remake and you've all ready played it, It is 10 years old what if you were 5 back then. You wouldn't of played it, and I think that IGN kinda did with there review went into like there 15 or something and this is the first time they've played it.

Honestly everything I've heard about what the media is saying has justified why I haven't paid any attention to them for years now and why actual gamers still remain my go-to source when I'm wondering whether I want to pick up a game or not. You'd think with the way most of them are reviewing it Nintendo had downgraded the game and it was somehow inferior to the original or something.

I was... *takes off socks* ...six back then. So I haven't played it, but the better-than-goodish scores are reason enough to rectify that issue. *bobs back and forth on edge of seat*

If you've not played, you're in for such a treat. Wind Waker is by some way my favourite Zelda.

Decent visual comparison between versions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4hOVb1GCfg
It looks gorgeous outdoors, with the new colours really highlighting the contrast the developers wanted to make between standing in the scorching sunlight and under the shadows, with the new shadows cast across the environments looking ace.
But again the inconsistent lighting effects urks me -- the first boss actually looks worse in Wind Waker HD. Basically, any scene with rim lighting (where Link is no longer cel shaded) gets a no from me. Not only does it not look *right*, but it's plain inconsistent with the rest of the game.

They have downgraded it by making the triforce hunt smaller *runs*
