| Another month... and one with big changes in it! - Stu "the_Great" Jones:
LIVING IT UP IN TINGLE TOWER
- Simon "ZeroJones" Ball:
Nintendo's most unsung hero, Tingle, first graced us with his presence in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. What's your fondest memory of everybody's favourite lycra-clad map salesman?Any and every time you see him dancing. So graceful, so refined... Tingle loooooves fairies, so naturally we here at Tingnamer do too. Who's your favourite fairy from across all forms of media? The Fairy Godmother from the recent live action Cinderella film but that's mainly because she's played by Helena Bonham Carter, who's an actress I quite like (except when she's chewing scenery in Captain Jack Sparrow's wig). Tingle sells you maps in Majora's Mask so you don't get lost! How considerate. Tell us about a time when you got lost and how Tingle would have helped you out.The last time I got lost was trying to find the extension of the local shopping centre, with the new restaurants and cinema. I turned round and went back to familiar territory, but I imagine Tingle taking me by the hand and leading me, with a skip in his heart and feet, to the promised land of Nando's and Cineworld. When we first lay eyes on Tingle, he descended majestically from the sky as balloons gently carried him through the air. What's your favourite game that features Tingle's transport method of choice, the balloon? As a nipper I was quite partial to a bit of Pang on the Amiga. It's a pretty limited game but an updated downloadable version wouldn't go amiss. Tingle can charge quite a lot (but a man has to make a living!). When was the last time you were ripped off?Any and every time I buy a sandwich in London. Tingle's famous magic words are "Kooloo-Limpah". What do you say to yourself to get pumped for a challenge?"You're good at this; you can do this". Repeat.
- James "Jay" Moyles:
Nintendo's most unsung hero, Tingle, first graced us with his presence in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. What's your fondest memory of everybody's favourite lycra-clad map salesman?Giving him all my rupees in Wind Waker. I didn't need them - no, he deserved them. Tingle loooooves fairies, so naturally we here at Tingnamer do too. Who's your favourite fairy from across all forms of media?Anyone but Navi. Anyone but her. Tingle sells you maps in Majora's Mask so you don't get lost! How considerate. Tell us about a time when you got lost and how Tingle would have helped you out.I got lost trying to find one of my tutorial rooms in my last year of uni and ended up walking through a seemingly abandoned, half-built room. Tingle would have guided me to my tutorial room for a small fee, and I'd have been eternally grateful to him When we first lay eyes on Tingle, he descended majestically from the sky as balloons gently carried him through the air. What's your favourite game that features Tingle's transport method of choice, the balloon?Spider-Man 2 - although, hearing that kid screech "MAI BALLOOOON" as it floats into the air is not fun. Tingle can charge quite a lot (but a man has to make a living!). When was the last time you were ripped off?I feel like I paid way too much money for Street Fighter V. Tingle's famous magic words are "Kooloo-Limpah". What do you say to yourself to get pumped for a challenge?I've found myself saying "let's rock" when leaving my home some days. So that, I suppose!

Nintendo's most unsung hero, Tingle, first graced us with his presence in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. What's your fondest memory of everybody's favourite lycra-clad map salesman? In some of my Not For Norris acts of bullying comedy Youtube videos, I attached Norris' head to Tingle's body.
Tingle loooooves fairies, so naturally we here at Tingnamer do too. Who's your favourite fairy from across all forms of media? Holly, from Artemis Fowl, 'natch.
Tingle sells you maps in Majora's Mask so you don't get lost! How considerate. Tell us about a time when you got lost and how Tingle would have helped you out. I am forever getting lost. Me and Mas got lost for an hour and a half getting out of London after Taylor Davis, and me and Muss woke up in a field, four hours' walk in the wrong direction, in London the morning after Regular Features.
When we first lay eyes on Tingle, he descended majestically from the sky as balloons gently carried him through the air. What's your favourite game that features Tingle's transport method of choice, the balloon? Zero has already given the correct answer, and the one which sprung to my mind, so I'll go for the flappy-armed minigame in Wario Ware: Smooth Moves.
Tingle can charge quite a lot (but a man has to make a living!). When was the last time you were ripped off? My bank charge me a fee for going overdrawn. This fee is normally charged a month after being incurred. I first caused myself the issue at the end of a payday, naturally, so now each month the bank charges me just enough to send me overdrawn so I get charged again the same time the following month, and on and on forever.
Tingle's famous magic words are "Kooloo-Limpah". What do you say to yourself to get pumped for a challenge? I listen to, either literally or just in my own head, Dean's music.

What's your fondest memory of everybody's favourite lycra-clad map salesman? His appearance in Twilight Princess. Tingle loooooves fairies, so naturally we here at Tingnamer do too. Who's your favourite fairy from across all forms of media?Rognari Sorda, a fairy from my own book , who came into being through the suggestion of our own admin.! Alternatively, Airy from Bravely Default - I shan't say why. Tingle sells you maps in Majora's Mask so you don't get lost! How considerate. Tell us about a time when you got lost and how Tingle would have helped you out.I don't any more really, due to Google Maps on my 'phone. But I could happily use his balloon to get to where I wanted to go as the crow flies. (As stated elsewhere recently, I've thought about doing that more often since getting a Skell in XCX.) When we first lay eyes on Tingle, he descended majestically from the sky as balloons gently carried him through the air. What's your favourite game that features Tingle's transport method of choice, the balloon? There was a Cheep Cheep balloon in PMTTYD, so that. Tingle can charge quite a lot (but a man has to make a living!). When was the last time you were ripped off?Probably lots of times, I don't really shop around much because I'm an impatient person. You could say any videogame I've bought without consulting Cappa's threads, couldn't you? Which is most of them. Tingle's famous magic words are "Kooloo-Limpah". What do you say to yourself to get pumped for a challenge?"Come on, you stupid boy, focus!" Yay self-deprecation.

Nintendo's most unsung hero, Tingle, first graced us with his presence in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. What's your fondest memory of everybody's favourite lycra-clad map salesman? Seeing the efficient workforce he had in Wind Waker. Day and night turning those levers, rather than going on benefits. Admirable.
Tingle loooooves fairies, so naturally we here at Tingnamer do too. Who's your favourite fairy from across all forms of media? I don't approve of it. It is unnatural and an affront to god, and I don't want my children to see it.
Tingle sells you maps in Majora's Mask so you don't get lost! How considerate. Tell us about a time when you got lost and how Tingle would have helped you out. Every single day I continue to move freely around the United Kingdom, and on the planet Earth generally, rather than walking directly into the Sun like I obviously should.
When we first lay eyes on Tingle, he descended majestically from the sky as balloons gently carried him through the air. What's your favourite game that features Tingle's transport method of choice, the balloon? 80 Days. I like the idea of going on a journey but ending up back in England.
Tingle can charge quite a lot (but a man has to make a living!). When was the last time you were ripped off? The Maastricht Treaty.

| Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! I'm in Cornerian airspace and the admin team has sent some vicious questions for us to answer! - Stu "TheGreat" Jones:
DOING A BARREL ROLL SOMEWHERE IN THE LYLAT SYSTEM
- Simon "ZeroJones" Ball:
The Zelda vote had us all chatting about Zeldas past, and Twilight Princess HD and Hyrule Warriors Legends made sure it was a Zelda heavy couple of months - tell us about your earliest memory of playing a Zelda game.Setting out on the original Zelda. It looks basic and crude today but it was a wonderful adventure to me at the time. Star Fox Zero has rocketed into the skies and rebooted the Star Fox series. What Nintendo franchise would you like to see revamped? Hard mode - no F-Zero.2D Metroid - and pure 2D Metroid, with none of the 2.5D theatrics that Other M attempted. A giant, sprawling world with plenty of suits and trinkets to obtain. I want to get an item just before the end that reveals an item that was tucked away near the start of the game. Spring has sprung... it's a shame one half of the Admin team doesn't like this season. What's your favourite season of the year and why?I... would go for Spring. We're getting more and more sunshine during the day - which does my skin a lot of good! - without it being so bright in the morning that I don't get enough sleep. So the NX is coming out in March 2017! What event are you most looking forward to between now and then?My youngest niece's 1st birthday. She may be spoiled. Side-note: my wedding is in March 2017 but the NX will launch before that (provided it launches in March on a Friday). In Yo-Kai Watch the main character's watch can detect ghosts. What bizarre extra function would you like your watch to have? The power to always have the correct date on display. Seriously, it's telling me it's the 31st of April at the moment. Add one 'mon to the Pokken Tournament roster. Justify your choice.Hawlucha, because it's the most interesting fighting 'mon of Gen VI.
- James "Jay" Moyles:
The Zelda vote had us all chatting about Zeldas past, and Twilight Princess HD and Hyrule Warriors Legends made sure it was a Zelda heavy couple of months - tell us about your earliest memory of playing a Zelda game.Hmmm... I think it would have to be playing through the opening areas of Ocarina of Time at a friend's house - not on N64 though, but on that Zelda compilation on Gamecube. Star Fox Zero has rocketed into the skies and rebooted the Star Fox series. What Nintendo franchise would you like to see revamped? Hard mode - no F-Zero.EASY MODE. MOTHER/EARTHBOUND. GET YOUR FINGER OUT NINTENDO. Spring has sprung... it's a shame one half of the Admin team doesn't like this season. What's your favourite season of the year and why?Don't know what half that could be... I've always liked Autumn. Lovely colours in the trees, weather is usually bearable and I enjoy it when things wither and decay. So the NX is coming out in March 2017! What event are you most looking forward to between now and then?Honestly? The GNamer MIST! In Yo-Kai Watch the main character's watch can detect ghosts. What bizarre extra function would you like your watch to have?I'd say "stop time", but that's hardly bizarre for a watch... Maybe if it got marginally hotter mid-conversation when someone was thinking mean things about me. Yeah, let's go with that. Add one 'mon to the Pokken Tournament roster. Justify your choice.Ditto. Because I basically pick "random" in most fighting games anyway!

| Really good selection of questions this month chaps! I notice that some of the games I mentioned have made their MtAT appearances as well - good work. - Spoiler:
The Zelda vote had us all chatting about Zeldas past, and Twilight Princess HD and Hyrule Warriors Legends made sure it was a Zelda heavy couple of months - tell us about your earliest memory of playing a Zelda game.As I said in that thread, my first Zelda was OoT. Even at the time I thought it looked a bit duff honestly, after the lovely (then) bright block colours of SM64, Banjo-Kazooie and such. While I vaguely remember slugging through the Deku Tree, having had his death spoiled for me by N64 magazine , it's that one eye switch jump in Dodongo's Cavern that I really recall, because it put me off the game for years. I'd later come back to it on the WW bonus disc, and the rest is history. Star Fox Zero has rocketed into the skies and rebooted the Star Fox series. What Nintendo franchise would you like to see revamped? Hard mode - no F-Zero.There are so many! 2D Metroid, 3D Metroid, Mother, 3D Mario, 3D Pokémon... I'll go for Ice Climbers, because it's vaguely interested compared to all the obvious choices, and because it should be a huge mountainous explore-a-thon. Spring has sprung... it's a shame one half of the Admin team doesn't like this season. What's your favourite season of the year and why?Spring's pretty good, everything being born again and the days getting longer, and blossom on the trees! But it's impossible to tell because climate change is fiddling with everything I'm used to. If we continue with the whole "sudden hailstorms, bees dying" stuff, it may well move to being summer... until we start getting tropical diseases. (As opposed to the media all talking about Trump, which is a topical disease. O-ho!) So the NX is coming out in March 2017! What event are you most looking forward to between now and then?My schedule between now and then is pretty bleak! No big hyped games, no amazing family events, no big social gatherings apart from MIST... I think I'll say Christmas. I love Christmas, I do, with the presents and the family and the food. In Yo-Kai Watch the main character's watch can detect ghosts. What bizarre extra function would you like your watch to have?I'll go one up from Zero's, and say a full-blown emotion sensor. (Not motion sensor - we're talking emote not Wiimote. O-ho-ho-ho!) So I can tell if the person I'm talking to is annoyed with me, isn't actually fine when they say they are, is badmouthing me behind my back, or - especially - if a girl I like reciprocates. Add one 'mon to the Pokken Tournament roster. Justify your choice.Zero obviously gave the right answer. I'm duty-bound to say Absol, and more quadrupeds would add to the weirdness; but I'd actually prefer to see (Mega-)Sableye as an annoyer, all Faint Attacking and Shadow Sneaking around the stage, flipping up its gem shield to deflect attacks. To be honest, though, Pokken needs more modes rather than more Pokémon. I haven't bought it because apparently it's as bare bones as a Marowak/Ursaring pairing.

| Yeah what gives with all these Nintendo Question, it's like you all forgot maybe the biggest game of the year so far came out in April - Spoiler:
The Zelda vote had us all chatting about Zeldas past, and Twilight Princess HD and Hyrule Warriors Legends made sure it was a Zelda heavy couple of months - tell us about your earliest memory of playing a Zelda game. Renting & Playing OoT on a N64 which my Nan won, but didn't like it at all that I would of gone back to playing the PS1 and what ever games I would have got that Christmas. I think, it's a long time ago and the years just blend together when it comes to games as SotE I got with the N64 and taht would have been xmas 1997 but Zelda would have been 1999 and I'm sure the N64 would have been sold by then.
Star Fox Zero has rocketed into the skies and rebooted the Star Fox series. What Nintendo franchise would you like to see revamped? Hard mode - no F-Zero. GOLDEN SUN, as just look at how good Fire Emblem has become on the 3DS can Nintendo release another RPG and get it to the same heights.
Spring has sprung... it's a shame one half of the Admin team doesn't like this season. What's your favourite season of the year and why? As someone spends most of him time in doors playing games, it doesn't really matter to me.
So the NX is coming out in March 2017! What event are you most looking forward to between now and then? A few things E3, MIST, EGX, PSVR launch as I do love a good midnight launch event.
In Yo-Kai Watch the main character's watch can detect ghosts. What bizarre extra function would you like your watch to have? My watch also doesn't show the correct time but that might be my fault as I put in the draw and it wasn't getting any light also I rarely wear it as I have my phone on me. I'm thinking about what if Nintendo did a new Game & Watch with all of today's tech, so I'll say that.
Add one 'mon to the Pokken Tournament roster. Justify your choice. Scyther as he has those blades and I would hope he plays a bit like Baraka who I can own you all with as long as it's MKII on the Mega Drive.

I had Link's Awakening on the Gameboy in the mid-90s but didn't like it at all. I think it was the open nature of progression which was alien to me at the time.
Star Fox Zero has rocketed into the skies and rebooted the Star Fox series. What Nintendo franchise would you like to see revamped? Hard mode - no F-Zero.
A new Advance Wars. There needs to be a mobile version.

Winter. Family, Christmas, good TV, bigger meals.

Quite looking forward to Euro 2016, but my eldest daughter starts Primary school in September.

| I wish I hadn't even made that joke. Please don't get into "is this a Nintendo Forum or a Gaming Forum", that's almost as boring as sales chat, or trying to judge the business decisions of a company and the games it hasn't even brought out yet. - Spoiler:
The Zelda vote had us all chatting about Zeldas past, and Twilight Princess HD and Hyrule Warriors Legends made sure it was a Zelda heavy couple of months - tell us about your earliest memory of playing a Zelda game. I may have dabbled beforehand, but my first memory is getting excited about OoT and OoS and getting them for a birthday. I poured hours into those two, though I never beat them.
Star Fox Zero has rocketed into the skies and rebooted the Star Fox series. What Nintendo franchise would you like to see revamped? Hard mode - no F-Zero. Advance Wars must be due a comeback, surely? I like Fire Emblem, but I love AW for boiling it down to almost chess. I'd even take it as a mobile game, to be honest.
Spring has sprung... it's a shame one half of the Admin team doesn't like this season. What's your favourite season of the year and why? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QAf5aE-YMw
So the NX is coming out in March 2017! What event are you most looking forward to between now and then? I've got the GNamer meet-up, a stag do in Amsterdam and the attached wedding to come yet, they ought to be fun.
In Yo-Kai Watch the main character's watch can detect ghosts. What bizarre extra function would you like your watch to have? Drinks dispenser. Gin, naturally.

| I can't drink white rum. It was the first spirit I got utterly destroyed on, and now just the smell makes me feel sick. Dark rum, on the other hand, is delicious. - Balladeer wrote:

That's a banger of a turn of phrase, though I'd disagree with the sentiment. In that kind of fighting game, extra modes will rarely add to the enjoyment if you don't enjoy the core game. |

| Big rum fan here, usually in cocktails. Sweet tooth coming through. I'm certainly partial to the odd gin as well.
As for Pokken, I completely agree that the core game has to be solid. However, I'll very rarely play a beat-em-up online or even with friends, unless it's Smash; so I need a meaty campaign mode or equivalent if I'm to buy the game. |

| In a weird turn of events, I'm going to Amsterdam for a stag do with the wedding afterwards too! |

| Why do stag parties seem to need to be abroad now? Do the holders not realise how ridiculously inconvenient that is for their guests?
When/if I go through that whole palaver, I'll be holding mine at a theme park in the goddamn UK. Then drinks and dinner afterwards. Fun without requiring masses of time off work/travelling. |
