See, I'd say they're the other way around. Remember, this game was so close to another delay because of the effort translation was taking. |

| Yeah because it was space on the cart from day one, wouldn't that make us a worried about games 3 or 4 years from now. |

| I think the alternate ending chat is likely, as Drunka said, a 100% ending with a bit more shown off than in a standard ending. Nowt wrong with that, in my book. Speaking of 100% completion... - Side Content Spoilers:
The official guide has detailed that there will be "120 Shrine mini-dungeons, 900 Korok seed puzzles, and 76 side quests." You will never need another game again.

Nah, with cartridge and card based machines, they find ways of cramming more space in there over the machine's life, unlike disks. - JayMoyles wrote:

A lot of the time when games boast about their size these days it puts me off but I know this is going to be a game I don't want to ever stop playing so I am dead keen. |

| I did pre order the special edition but cancelled and gone for the standard, as cool as it is I'm already spending enough money so I don't really want to spend even more on a nice statue that will take up space and a CD I won't ever use. I've learnt a lot since I sent £100 on Fallout 4 Pip Boy edition. As I typed that I was slowly changing my mind again... |

| Aye it'll just be the game for me, not been one for special editions anyway in fact the only ones I've ever bought were Ni no kuni (for the book) & recently Dark Souls 3 but even that wasn't the most expensive edition. Also thought the Master sword statue looked a bit naff when I seen it on the treehouse stream.

Same That said, I'm a sucker for a soundtrack, especially from a Zelda game. |

| I went for the edition that came with the soundtrack - the music in the trailers has been absolutely lush, so more of that please! |

| That little twinkle at the start of the trailer, which I keep hearing in the five seconds before I can skip on Youtube, is amazing enough. |

| Have you watched the Switch event trailer yet, Drunka? Because the whole track is phenomenal, if you haven't.
This link does a good job at chopping out any spoilery bits from the audio, although it does affect the main track at points. |

| Good interview from Jirard the Completionist with Miyamoto and Aonuma.
Plenty of design chat in there, and I'm interested to see if the game truly is beatable in fifteen minutes. |

| Well well, what do we have here? - Spoiler:
I like the sound of new story content, could we play as Zelda? And at £17.99 I'll be buying but already seen a lot of backlash around this or I'm waiting for GOTY version etc

| Just thought I'd spoiler that up. - Spoiler:
If it adds value in the same way as the Mario Kart 8 DLC, that'll be fine. I can understand the Net upset, of course, but I bet there's a good uptake rate for it.

| ...eeeeeeeeehhh. It's the principle of the thing as much as anything else. - Spoiler:
Also the first two stages which sound a bit bobbins. But mostly the principle: pre-release DLC and season passes have been abused heavily, and infamously, by some. I hope Nintendo won't, but I can't quite say they won't for sure.
Nonetheless, I am hopeful. I don't think this is taking the urine too much, because BotW's likely to be huge anyway and was probably finished some time ago. And more story content for Zelda could be good. Could also be a bit of a let-down, of course.

| Naah, it'll be alright - - Spoiler:
if Nintendo are doing DLC, it's because they wanted to add something after the "gold" point. I know some of this has been bobbins in the past (New Super Mario Bros. 2) but I think this is more of the MK8 territory. The cave of trials is always dull, but everything else sounds good.

| To be fair... - Spoiler:
...it's not like this is particularly new, either for Zelda or Nintendo as a whole. Nintendo's embraced DLC in a big way over the last few years with meaningful add-ons to Smash and Mario Kart, but Zelda essentially had DLC with Twilight Princess HD. The features being added in with Breath of the Wild's DLC Pack 1 are almost carbon copies of what was added with Amiibo functionality in Twilight Princess HD, so that's basically a form of DLC. I trust Nintendo to treat this DLC with respect - this won't be horse armour we'll be seeing.

| - Yes but...:
...it's the day one-ness of this announcement that perturbs me a tiny bit. I don't think Ninty have done that before? As said elsewhere, I'm sure BotW was finished a while ago and it's not as bad as it seems. But it ain't the best look, and I hope they don't make a habit of it.

| - Hmm...:
I think they've announced amiibo functionality prior to release before - I know that's not exactly the same, but it's still announcing what is essentially DLC prior to release. I think they also did it for Hyrule Warriors Legends.
As you said though, this is likely a game that's been finished for a while now, and this DLC was probably started closer to the end of the main game's development cycle. Unlike other companies - Ubi have been bad for this - I don't think Nintendo will ship a game that feels unfinished. The DLC will only add to the experience.
