| - More of the same:
BotW's is exactly the sort of world I'd like to see more of on the NX. It took several years and several delays, from the developer who knows the console best. It's simply not feasible to have many more worlds of the same size on something underpowered, sadly. (I've never played Bayo 2, but I understand its power is all about spectacle. Teh graffx and so on. That's exactly the sort of power I feel a docking station could add; exactly the sort of power I don't care about.)
As for competing, you're probably right in that they couldn't butt into the BBoP space and expect sales and comfort. The amount of ****s I give about sales, apart from a small fanboy laugh, are well documented. On the other hand, I strongly feel that a Nintendo BBoP would be the best of the three, simply because it would have exclusives that would blow the other two away. It's not like it'd fail. (If it were well marketed etc., never a given with Nintendo.)
And it does make me sad that I'm clamouring for more power, as opposed to something interesting and new. But the Wii U gave us something interesting and new, and Nintendo didn't have a clue what to do with it. If it's too much to ask for both, let's have a generation of beefyness while Nintendo think up the next game-changer.

| - Spoiler:
Yeah I agree the Beefy would likely have the best exclusives not sure if the others would be totally blew away but is that enough when the other two are already on the market with 60m+ market share and they rather similar, would something else similar do well this far in I doubt it and people are in those ecosystem as well. The Cube did okay but not great and since the NES all the systems have been losing market share.
Hence why we've had things like the Wii and Wii U for better or worse, I think you need to be looking at like Monster Hunter 5, Yo-Kai Watch 4 etc will be the 3rd support and with the extra power those games can be pushed more and you'll have the option to play them everywhere now.

| Talking to Drunka & Muss yesterday behind the scenes about the NX, they want to wait to hear from Nintendo but now with even more "rumors" going around with more outlets like WSJ, IGN, MCV all saying they have a reliable source about the information.
Now some of you maybe happy about what the NX is and some not but now the question is with all this going around is it now time for Nintendo to say something?

| It probably is time for Nintendo to say something to address these rumours... but they won't. Being a Nintendo fan for so long has taught me seventy-three things - and one of them is that you have to be patient where The Big N are concerned. They do things at their own pace and can't be sped up for love nor money... and I've tried both. |

I wonder when the right time for them to announce things would actually be, we know it is arriving in March so a reveal/Info blow out this summer wouldn't make much sense (games drought/too early etc) & before the Holidays is quite tricky since you don't want to face a backlash because it isn't out in time for Christmas. Hmmm....Is January too late? |

| I think 6 months beforehand is fairly reasonable, which puts it in October (unless I counted wrong). October usually happens before November so they'd still be getting it out of the way before the noisy mess that is the Christmas period. |

| That could work but I was just thinking about how Nintendo usually like quick turnarounds from announcement to release. |

| When have they done a quick turnaround with proper new hardware as the Wii U was shown E3 2011 out Holiday 2012 that's over 12 months gap, Wii shown at TGS 2005 which is in September then came out over 12 months later as well.

| The next reasonable date would be January which now that I'm looking at a calendar is 2 1/2 months. What's Nintendo's usual announce-to-release time? I can't find any useful data but I'm pretty sure Wii U was announced over 6 months before it went on sale. |

| Check above Duck also you were off by a month, if you go 6 months after the announcement. |

| In which case sometime in October (maybe later September possibly as well perhaps) sounds like the most likely time for the big NX announcement. |

| I know it might be boring but it is facts, yeah maybe they have in recent years with New 3DS but I think that's slightly different to actual proper new hardware.
Now of course they can't do something 12 months before hand like they have in the past and times have changed as you just have to look at the PS4 & XBONE and the turn around with those, same with phones .
Maybe they could do something in January and will be enough time to build up hype but I think Duck is far closer to when we will see something. |

| @mas Funny that you got boring from that emoticon only post of mine as I was just too tired to reply properly. They may not have had quick turnarounds with older consoles but as you pointed out this situation is different, also the Directs allow this to happen even more in my book. Also rather than say the same old thing again & again is the reason I asked a question that has nothing to do with the latest rumours. |
