Nintendo NX -> Nintendo Switch (Switchcraft)

It's a hard one as Nintendo will clearly want people to buy the hell out of the Switch and the big games will do that but also want to keep the fanbase happy and a have steady stream of games.

But may that's why the remasters and 3rd Pokemon then in a few years time we get Splatoon 2 and 9th gen Pokemon.

I too hope that this rumour is horse and that they're planning a fresh Pokémon launch, with major bells and whistles, on Switch.

The long rumoured Pokémon Rainbow would be amazing: maybe 'just' the first four generations, or something, because if it included all seven you'd have trouble following it up...

But wouldn't it better to have Stars in 2017 and then in 2019 have the 9th gen then having everything in one go.

Also where do you think Nintendo can go with Kart, Splatoon and SMASH after the Directors Cuts? What could they do to make Mario Kart 9 better the MK8DC?

I put up the same in the launch thread in general gaming but she has said on her twitter that 3rd party stuff has been hard to pin down and basically this is what she knows from Nintendo.

To me that is a lot of ports if you own a Wii U + 3DS total of 6 games (Seven if you count Skyrim which most people have had the opportunity to play) you could play now but from what I've seen apparently 10 million people own both and if they do their likely the hardcore Nintendo fans who will buy a Switch regardless.

For us it might not be attention-grabbing but I think for people looking on from the outside who's not had a Wii U (that's a lot of people) and even if they had/have a 3DS they've got a lot to look forward to with 3D Mario, Mario RPG, Splatoon, Kart 8, Zelda, XCX, Pikmin 4.

A 3DS owner might not want Mario Maker again but I feel it is Nintendo's Minecraft and will just come out everything it can, a 3rd version Pokemon but that isn't something new its happened before many a time and people have wanted them and now it be all in shiny HD, last being SMASH it's a fighting game and we all know about things like Super Hyper Mega Turbo Street Fighter II EX+ and SMASH will just fall under that category now.

I'm interested in:
3D Mario
Mario RPG Invasion of the Rabbids
Splatoon, I wouldn't buy it on its own but I will get the £250 pack which it comes in
SMASH for Switch, I didn't play it much on Wii U or 3DS that it would be nice to give it another go
Zelda
Mario Kart 8, Same reason as SMASH but I can see this getting played more
Pokemon Stars, I normally buy the 3rd version and now I'll have in shine HD
Pikmin 4 / Reboot
Project Sonic, likely be the one of only 3rd party games I buy on Switch due to Sonic feeling at home on Nintendo
BG&E2

Also Balla it has Skyrim, Just Dance 2017 which is going to use the Joy-Cons for motion controls which makes me hopeful that they will be the solution for Wii VC on Switch, Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy, Silver Case and Project Sonic all 3rd party which I would say two are ports also BG&E2 which seem like it might be a 3rd party exclusive.

On leaks about Switch in general it really has taken the buzz out of it for me (believe me I've tried to avoid spoilers) so I can only hope there are some surprises left for January otherwise I fear I may not get it on launch day.

I don't think I mention anything Balla doesn't or not been talked about before that I'm not sure what you want me to spoiler tag.

Why wouldn't you get at launch as how does knowing what's coming change anything or just nothing your excited about there.

See, that I don't understand. Having the details of the games revealed? Yeah that'd be a bit rubbish. But we haven't, we just know titles. We don't know if Mario's going to have a sombrero power-up in the platformer we already knew would be on the way from the reveal trailer. The only real surprise is that RPG, which you probably wouldn't have picked up anyway. Would the cavalcade of Wii U ports be more excited if unleaked?

Officially, these are all still rumours. I respect that Jas might want to come into this thread for officially revealed news and not see the leaked stuff.

Intill it turns into Pokemon S&M and Nintendo just show everything of about everything.

Out of the rumoured launch day games? Just Mario & as I said before I'd be after something I can get my teeth into a bit more than a 3d platformer. (If the Splatoon pack in is true then I'll likely end up with that as well)

Slippy slope though, isn't it? I wouldn't be surprised if some details did come out before the official January announcement or before the games are out. Not to mention that if this is all accurate info for January it'll just be met with a "Yeah we already know this Nintendo, what else have you got?" reactions.

Eh. I prefer to worry about slippery slopes when we slide down them, rather than anticipate something that might well never happen, unless the possibility's really obvious. The big thing is that I think a lot of the details wouldn't necessarily go in a headline, and there are no screenshots to go in spoilerish thumbnails. So we'll probably be saved any further things, unless you follow the wrong people on Twitter or summat.

And I'm personally wondering 'what else have you got?' anyway - see above. I think the 'what else have you got's tend to flow when there's a mediocre launch line-up, rather than because a good line-up's been leaked. There's always a couple of ****heads, of course, but if they get upset then I tend to see that as a positive.

For what else have you got, I'm hoping 3rd party launch games and support, VC and eShop shown and maybe stuff way out like with BG&E2 which is 2018 from the rumours, why not show retros game even if it's not out till then.

It is early days and a rumour after all but I'm not as convinced about the launch day line up as balla is, which is a shame & that makes these leaks worse for me as after the initial reveal I was excited.

In which case, probably for the best we got the disappointment out of the way now rather than in January, eh? Thank God for leaks!

I'd rather still be excited for a Nintendo system.

Actual Switch news, WB yesterday announced LEGO City Undercover on the Nintendo Wii U is getting remastered for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.

I wonder how it will fair 4 years on as I know Fronk and EofGiz have been playing it recently with both liking it and personally I feel its the best LEGO game we've had but as its been stuck on the Wii U most people don't know this.

Now it's coming to these 3 new system, and if it is well received both critically and commercially, how will it affect the rest of the LEGO games.

It's sufficiently different from existing LEGO games to still get critical acclaim, even these years later. If they sort the loading times - which should be very doable - LCU should be set to take over the world.

Nintendo Switch for £198.50 with price guarantee but they take the money now, I believe.

I've used game seek before for games and they've been fine, their part of Rakuten (what was play.com).

The big thing I think you can take away from it is the price.

Nah, that's alright it was more that I just didn't want to know about possible games for the upcoming January reveal.
