| To be fair I've not spent much time with Twin Snakes, but I love the original to bits and don't really like any of TS' changes. It feels more like a fun little tribute to a classic than like the actual classic. |

| Crazy Taxi gets a no from me. That's too much of a Dreamcast game, which is odd to say considering I voted yes to Sonic Adventure 2 though they did add stuff to SA2B for the GC port. |

I want to put a few more up for consideration, I'm thinking there a No from most as they would of been put forward already
Baten Kaitos Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg Doshin the Giant Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles The Simpsons: Hit & Run, I did play on Xbox myself but a excellent game Skies of Arcadia Legends, More of a Dreamcast classic

| I can only comment on Simpsons: Hit and Run which gets a no from me. It's a solid game, but it's nowhere near as good as people remember it to be. |

| An obvious ABSTAIN to everything... except Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, which gets a YES. Very fine game. |

Supposedly they gave it an 80 - it's not a bad game at all, but it's not classic. |

| I've got to admit I did think of suggesting Simpsons H&R myself; I don't know if it's a classic though; you get to see a lot of Springfield, which we all would like, but it's still a little "pasted over" GTA. |

| I'm giving YESes to Simpsons and Billy Hatcher. Hit and Run was really good fun and is very fondly remembered by most of the people I know who play games. Giant Egg is SEGA's best platformer by some way. |

| I didn't know about that on the .gif and looking back on all the systems so far the Cube is the system I would have with that set of games if I can only have one of them.
On those games Balla Abstain on all of them
I've looked back at the DS Vote thread and Top DS games else where and this is such a system that I can't put something forward that shouts WOW! classic, there's good games on the system that I could vote best Fighter or what so but a classic not so much.
That I'm putting forward nothing for the DS. |

| Blimey, sounds like some people need to get their DS on! Especially anyone who hasn't played Ghost Trick - one of my top ten games ever. I also came late to the Phoenix Wright series (also available on iOS), and now I evangelise about them. |

| The DS to me never has that stand-out game, it started well with SM64DS which I got with my USA Import Launch system and I liked things like Project Rub but classics nah, the DS seemed to me more Nintendogs type stuff which might be considered a classic but in a different sort of way then what we would call core games.
On Ghost Trick I have played it and from the first missions it was good but when I had a massive clear-out like a month ago it was of the games to go.
On what's been out forward abstain on all of them part from Star Fox Command No Pokemon HG/SS Yes Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow Yes

| I kinda agree with mas about the DS, but I'm rediscovering some of the games at the moment, particularly the early releases that are now 10 years old (!).
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Abstain Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations Abstain Professor Layton and the Curious Village YES Professor Layton and the Lost Future Abstain Ghost Trick Abstain Star Fox Command Abstain Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes Abstain Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Abstain Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth Abstain Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Abtain WarioWare Touched YES Pokemon HG/SS Abstain Mario Kart DS YES Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow Abstain Animal Crossing Wild World Abstain Tony Hawk's American Sk8land Abstain
I'm going to put forth games that I automatically associate with the DS:
New Super Mario Bros. Nintendogs Sonic Rush Dr Kawashima's Brain Training |

| Ah, I was waiting for NSMB to come up. It was a solid platformer, but lacking in imagination, and it left a duffer of a legacy. I imagine that it'll get through because it has Mario on the front and wasn't as bad as the next two games (Zero will be to differ), but it's not a classic to me. |

| Ahhh, the DS - that's where I'm a Viking!* - Spoiler:
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney YES Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations YES Professor Layton and the Curious Village YES Professor Layton and the Lost Future YES Ghost Trick YES Star Fox Command NO (load of old tosh, so it is) Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes YES Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney NO (the series is finding its feet here; Apollo's debut is not as memorable as it should be. Also, as I always say about this game, they took an already slow-paced game and made the central detection mechanic even slower than that) Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth NO (the last chapter is interminable) Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story YES WarioWare Touched ABSTAIN Pokemon HG/SS YES YES YES Mario Kart DS YES Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow ABSTAIN Animal Crossing Wild World ABSTAIN Tony Hawk's American Sk8land ABSTAIN New Super Mario Bros. YES (just - the Mega and Mini Mushrooms are nice additions to the series) Nintendogs ABSTAIN Sonic Rush YES Dr Kawashima's Brain Training YES
I'll just leave these here: Phantom Hourglass Dragon Quest IX The World Ends With You Advance Wars: Dark Conflict |

| Woo, the DS! A favourite of mine. Let's rock. - Spoiler:
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: A shameful ABSTAIN. Really need to get to playing this series. Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations: ABSTAIN. Professor Layton and the Curious Village: ...same as Phoenix Wright, a series I really ought to play. ABSTAIN. Professor Layton and the Lost Future: ABSTAIN. Ghost Trick: Another shameful ABSTAIN. Star Fox Command: NO. Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes: ABSTAIN Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney: ABSTAIN Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth: ABSTAIN Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story: YES WarioWare Touched: ABSTAIN Pokemon HG/SS: YES. Gen IV is my least favourite, but you're building upon greatness with HG/SS. Mario Kart DS: ABSTAIN. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow: YES! One of the best Castlevanias... not the best on DS though. I'll get to that with my nominations. Animal Crossing Wild World: Yeah, alright then. I'm not huge on Animal Crossing but this was good stuff. Tony Hawk's American Sk8land: ABSTAIN. New Super Mario Bros.: Yeah, I liked it, and it spawned a revival for 2D Mario. An important game. Nintendogs: ABSTAIN. Sonic Rush: ABSTAIN. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: Yeah, why not? Phantom Hourglass: Yep! Dragon Quest IX: ABSTAIN. The World Ends With You: ...nah. - Spoiler:
OF COURSE IT'S BLOODY AMAZING ALL THE YESES TO TWEWY
Advance Wars: Dark Conflict: Abstain.
I'd like to put forward Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time and Hotel Dusk: Room 215. |

| Is something like The World Ends With You more of a Cult Classic, just curious.
I'm abstaining on most of them even Phantom Hourglass, part from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin which is a Yes as I played a Castlevania on DS and liked it but not sure which one that I will Yes both. |

| Incoming list of votes - Spoiler:
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Only played a few chapters of this on iOS but Yes Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations - abstain Professor Layton and the Curious Village - I didn't like this personally but Yes Professor Layton and the Lost Future - Abstain Ghost Trick - HELL YES! The best game on DS Star Fox Command - abstain Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes - abstain Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney - abstain Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth - abstain Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story - Yes WarioWare Touched - Yes, one of the mini games from this was my first experience with a DS so I'm quite fond of it. Pokemon HG/SS - would I be right in thinking this was the last great pokemon? If so then yes. Mario Kart DS - yes Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow - Yes Animal Crossing Wild World - Yes Tony Hawk's American Sk8land - No Phantom Hourglass - yes, this probably had no right to work with it's touch screen controls but this is up there in the best top down/2d zelda games for me. Dragon Quest IX - abstain The World Ends With You - Yes, even though I got unbelievably stuck in an early boss. Advance Wars: Dark Conflict - No, as AW: Dual strike is the better game. New Super Mario Bros. - Very good game but not a classic Nintendogs - No Sonic Rush - No Dr Kawashima's Brain Training - Yes Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Abstain Final Fantasy III - abstain Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - abstain Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time -Abstain, as this is the only one I've not played. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - No
I suggest: Advance wars: Dual strike Jam with the band Elite beat agents/Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan GTA: Chinatown wars |

| Spattering of comments from me: Jay, DS is a favourite console but you haven't played the PWs, PLs, or GT? FFIII has come far enough from its origins to get classic status in my eyes. That said, there's something wrong with this system if it gets classic status and FFIV doesn't... PiT seems to be the opposite of LoZPH (and LoZSS) to me: maligned at the time, grown in stature over the years. I didn't like Curious Village either, Jas, but like you, I don't doubt its classic status. Not sure whether TRP can make JwtB a classic all on its own... I'm going to say yes! EBA and Ouendan were different enough in my eyes to be considered different games. I'd call Ouendan a classic but give EBA, a bastardised Americanised inferior version of the idea, a . |
