I visited my sister in Madrid about a month ago, and now I can't stop eating olives. And anchovies. And that tortilla omelette thing. I'm a big fan, yet a younger me would probably have insisted on eating Mcdonalds every day instead of embracing the local food.

My sister is like Balla's, and I am like the Balls Man himself. Olives combine the flavours of snot and sweaty ballsack.

Hmm I never liked them but do now but on Pizza etc
Anyway I tried some vegan plant based stuff. First was some ASDA own brand burgers, which were fine but the aftertaste was horrible.
Looked to see those made from mushrooms which I hate.
Next up was some sausages from HECK, which were some Thai chill with a few other bits which on their own I like but together was horrible, that I didn't even eat them and changed my dinner to a cheese and tomato sandwich.
The thing these both had in common, neither were pretending to be meat flavoured or what not from Quorn, I see.
I'm still willing to try stuff but less likely to do so now.

That's a shame - and also, something to stay away from as I try vegan alternatives. I had a soy burger the other day, and it looked nothing like an actual burger but it tasted alright. Might be worth a go? Can't remember the brand, sadly.

Anything with Linda McCartney on it is usually gold. Buy the shredded "duck" and have it in a proper stir fry. It's surprisingly close to the real thing... I actually prefer it. We usually have it every 1-2 weeks. The burgers and sausages are great too; again not the same as the real thing but still really good.
Quorn is really variable. Things that you can cover in sauce are usually alright, but some of their range is on the wrong side of funky. We generally buy their southern fried "chicken" and things like that, stuff that's not going to be the centrepiece of the dish.

Coconut Milk > Almond Milk > Milk, Milk > Rice Milk > Soy Milk. But I don't drink tea or coffee so I ain't gotsta worry about that side of things.

The sausages I eat have apple in them, which raises them to another level in my eyes/mouth. Perfectly recreatable in vegan sausages, but has Linda done that yet?

You lucky bastard.
Actually not lucky, tea and biscuits is one of the great combinations. Still makes it easier on the vegan side though.

I don't recall any. There's a pretty good range on the website, quite a lot of things I've never seen. Problem for me is that I live near a Tesco, Sainsburies, Lidl and Iceland but they're all medium to small sized supermarkets, so they only tend to stock the more standard things. No "Scampi" for me
The Roast Beef substitute doesn't taste like beef but it's quite a nice hearty dish that you just stick in the oven, would recommend if you've not tried before. That and the "Duck" are my girlfriend's favorite things from the range. She's not veggie or vegan but is happy using those as substitutes. She likes steak though and there isn't really a veggie equivalent to that which I know of.
Sainsburies had a frozen Vegan Pizza for £2 yesterday so I gave that a go. It was pretty good! The cheese substitute is closer to something like a soft French cheese than mozzarella, which makes the pizza less firm. But it still tasted really good so I think I might buy those again in the future.
