Movies 2: Electric Boogaloo

I was going to say something similar to Old Man Drunka but expand by saying that they all sound a bit like Saturday morning serials from the 30's and 40's. There's nothing wrong with that but I feel that none of them are that exciting. I suppose 'The Last Jedi' is intended to generate discussion about who the title is referring to...

I don't hate them, Zero. Lord knows I can appreciate a good bit of cheese.

I went to the cinema yesterday to see La La Land having heard so much about it, it was pretty terrible so we left after 30 mins and saw xXx: Return of Xander Cage instead. Much better!

Bloody hell, really? I was actually pretty keen to watch La La Land. It's equalled Titanic for most oscar nods.

I also want to see it even after what Andy said last night on Twitter as it can't have got 14 Oscar nominations for being terrible.

It was baffling, maybe it suddenly got good after we gave up, but the music was pretty rubbish, the lip syncing off and the story cliched and boring with unlikable characters.

There is the obvious caveat of not finishing it, but even with other films I've hated (Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, American Hustle) I stuck it out til the end.

xXx is legit good though, it looks stupid, but it is properly enjoyable.

Could be. Could just be another example of critics/ the oscars not actually reflecting the films people like.

I seen Triple X on Tuesday & can also confirm it is great fun but it does make me want one with just Donnie Yen.

Just saw The LEGO Batman Movie. It is intermittently utterly hilarious but there were a couple of long periods of not much tickling the laughter spleen. It's a recommend but if there's something else you'd rather see, go for that instead.

This weekend in the Oscars, you may or may not know that I've been known to have a flutter on the event and I'm 3 for 4 but for the last few years their hasn't been much value.

I was thinking why don't we play a little game and predict the Oscars, I'm not going to go through all the rewards just the big ones with my pick in bold also I will put a bonus entry which can be from any reward category.

I don't care much for the Couldn't-Give-A-Tosscars, but it'd be nice if Moonlight won something.  Also, stealing 'SCROTUS'.

I'd give it a more positive review.  Whether from tempered expectations, or the fact that even the soppy bits are more bearable when it's Batman, I preferred it to The LEGO Movie.

Only one of those I've seen, and Jesus Christ.

I really liked the weird dance she did when she was doing magic. It effectively conveyed that she was possessed or whatever. I would be happy with her winning an award for that performance.

Seems last nights Oscasr was rather odd, I did get 5 out of 6 right though.

And Suicide Squad did win an Oscar
(It was absolutely the right winner, by the way)

I just got back from The Last of Us Logan and dam it could be the best X-MEN Universe FOX has done and their best Superhero film as well with and Deadpool (Yes I know this is technically in the X-MEN Universe) but both films are great for different reason.

I've heard a lot of big talk for Logan, will definitely need to check it out. Hopefully I can gather the same posse I went to Apocalypse with and show them a good X-Men film.

I find it kind of hard to put my feelings about Logan down, it's a good film, but I don't think I'll ever watch it again and will opt for any other one over it
