| Am I the only person on the forum who has never owned a microwave? Also: should really get a toaster at some point. I miss toast. |

| That's a mental image I don't even want to entertain! I do have fried bread very occasionally, and I find that a bit much to stomach, so I don't know if my poor declining metabolism could handle French toast. But I wouldn't mind giving it a try. |

| I've never been a big fan of fried bread. I do quite like French Toast, though (that's the egg one, yeah?). |

| French toast with a bit of ketchup on the side - quality stuff. |

| Hi friends! I probably won't be online much for the next week or so. Tomorrow is my last day at Tesco (thank the gods), and over the course of the next week or so I'm going to be moving to my parents' place in Cheltenham, and living with them for a while to save some money. I've got some interviews lined up, just hoping for a nice job in a cafe or restaurant. Nothing fancy, but somewhere I can work lots of hours and save lots of money- that's the point after all. And not a shop!
But my downstairs neighbour is also moving, so until I'm fully relocated I'll have no wi-fi of any kind.
Then, all being well, having saved lots of money, in January of 2018 I will be moving to Japan for a year on a working holiday visa. Get a little job, find a tiny little flat and just spend as much time as possible meeting people, learning as much of the language as I can and generally absorbing culture. After that, who knows? Maybe I'll find another job over there and get a proper visa, or I'll come home and usemy newfound second language to find a good gig over here, or maybe nothing will come of it but I'll have had a great time and I won't have lost anything but a crap job and a pokey flat in a rubbish town.
Wish me luck, catch you soon! |

| I've been looking at holidays and why I might not go EGX this year as it does cost a lot.
One of the places I was thinking is Japan, so can I come crash? |

| Just about everyone I know is asking that I'm probably gonna be in a flat the size of a shed but you know me, I'll never turn down anyone asking to crash. |

| Hello Drunka! We'll see you when we see you - hopefully things work out quickly and well, especially the 'going to Japan' phase. It's an amazing country with a proud heritage. |

| Don't be jel: set a target and work for it. I spent nine years in a job and a city I hate because it was convenient and I was scared to get up and do something about it. |

In fairness, I'm actually pretty happy with my current life. Nice flat, decent job with decent jobmates, great girl, friends in reasonable proximity... There are things I'm not entirely fond of (working 18 miles from where I live), but for the most part I'm content. Would still like to go to Japan though. And your advice is good general advice, natch! |

| I should have mentioned - I didn't want to do a big 'I'VE JUST BEEN TO JAPAN!' thread when I got back, but if y'all want to ask me anything about it, fire away with those questions. |

| Once I'm settled and working again here in Cheltenham (I'm here for a couple of days, then I'm going home for the weekend to clean), I will be getting stuck into Japan research and looking to ask yourself some bits and bobs. |

| I can't take the politics gents. I just can't. It's so depressing. I know why all my friends are focussing on it right now, but with the outcome all but assured I find it so hard to see anything but despair there. |

| Then let it fall away from you. Turn off the social media, wake up on Friday to the same world that you woke up to on Thursday, and carry on... making sure you keep calm, apparently. |

| It will get to me, I know it will, but I've cut down my social media a lot - removed facebook from my phone, turned notifications off and taken twitter off the front page- because if it is a depressing result, I'll be miserable enough without gloating from rich people/ idiots and sharing my depression with others like myself.
I'm also concentrating on the potential positives: if we take an extreme brexit, the UK will probably make a big effort for closer ties with Asia and it might help my chances with moving to and working with Japan and Japanese companies.
And the more corrupt and dishonest the government gets, the closer we are to the real solution: REVOLUTION |

| I completely failed at that. Instead, I went for the 'trying to be cheery myself' route: started with an awful politics pun, then dug up some good news.
Am very grateful for my friends, girlfriend, and family around this time. (wraps self in filter bubble) |
