Subsidiary? Good luck Jim! I think you'll be fine - for better or for worse, I reckon continentals consider Yanks and Brits to be pretty ignorant in the foreigner stakes, especially linguistically. Even just making an effort to speak German will probably be thought of pretty well. Let us know if you get to see any of the country.

Only a tiny bit of the country as we stayed really late on the "in the middle" day. And my suitcase got put on a different flight on the way back, so that was scary. And every time I tried to order in German I got the wrong thing. So... yeah

I'm glad you caught that because reading Jimbob's sincere response to my terrible attempt at humour made me feel even more dumb, I'll promise I'll do better next time.

The similar topics section sounds like it had a great day yesterday.

Then it woke up today and looked at its bank account.

This week I realised that I went to the university rock society with half of the development team of Cassette Beasts! Which makes him my most successful Facebook friend ever. (We didn't get close enough for me to make any broader claims, and as far as 'acquaintance' goes I went to school briefly with Daniel Radcliffe.) At the same time it's rather dispiriting to see this bloke I knew when I was a teenager who only ever wore black, and he was much the same, and know he's created something greater than anything I will ever accomplish. Ho hum.

One of my uni acquaintances ended up on Bake Off, which I reckon has you beat.

You're right, not sure Harry Potter can compete with that!

Various posts in some way you may have seen about my teeth problems, yesterday finally all done, and I have my new tooth. That cost a lot of money to get all sorted, and quite a bit of pain as well during the past few months.
