As good a reason as any to charge back into this fine game, and stop pretending to enjoy Owlboy.

Balla goes savage! Has anyone tried the Luigi Balloon bit? I'm thinking of taking the game out for a quick spin just before starting Kirby Star Allies...

Yep and I love It (I was the guy that voted Odyssey in their top multiplayer games). As a player who felt intimidated by half of the manoeuvres other players can pull off this has helped me want to get better at them in order to up my game and be the world hide and seek champion. That'll of course never happen because I don't have that kind of skill but it's still very satisfying when you find a balloon, could be really competitive if everyone got involved.

By coincidence, I just played Balloon World for the first time last night - I had a cracking time with it. Can you just do it with folk on your friends list?

Theres no mode or settings to do that I don't think but you can get balloon codes to do someone's specific balloon but that sounds like more faffing about than it's worth.

I really should give it a try at some point, also here's some dunkey goodness.

Dunkey's video opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities for it. *buys gameshark*

I didn't find the hidden goodie... but it did get me back into SMO's delightful world. I scraped through the first of the postgame challenges, then went back a-hunting for the Moons that appear when you do that thing.

I've got too many moons still to find, so I haven't had a go at Balloon World - but I've just appreciated what a fantastic idea that is to add to the game.

Balloon World looks like an excellent idea that would work well on the forum. I think you can share codes for your balloons for others to try, which sounds like a brilliant idea for here.

After blitzing my way through the post-game in most levels, my main takeaway is this: the Roving Racers can get stuffed.

I've got to admit there was one race I was stuck on for a bit, until I earned how to do the optimal hat-long jump dive; I feel I've become a better Mario-er. Mari-er?

The one that irritated me is where one of the racers takes pretty much the optimal route and it's very hard to follow him... but there are some newly placed climbing aids somewhere completely different that you can use to get the drop on him.

Ah, I liked the racing moons. I think the movement in this game is so satisfying to pull off once you've learned the most effective way of traversing each level and using Cappy for those little extra boosts over certain gaps.

Now I haven't done a whole bunch of post game Odyssey so am I right in thinking bound bowl is just one section (which was really fun) or is there more tracks? If it's just the one I can see why more folk are into the racing as it covers multiple kingdoms & as Jay mentions is all about the joy of moving about the level and finding new ways to get better/quicker at it.
It's like the Koopa the quick race turned up to 11.

Yeah, I've not played any more of the Bound Bowl since the initial bit in Shiveria, but if there's no additional tracks or anything I can't see it having anywhere near the longevity and creativity of a good ol' footrace across a kingdom. To be honest, even if there were a few more tracks it'll still be hampered by the fact the racing as the seal man doesn't have the flexibility of Mario's regular traversal skills.

The fact that you're playing as a fat sealbearthing more than makes up for it.
Nah I'm jesting, I actually found the Bound Bowl races almost equally irritating. It is satisfying once you get the hang of it though.

Oh no wait never mind: I've hit the penultimate bit of postgame and it has redefined 'irritating' with regards to SMO for me.

I think I've only got one more moon to get, unless I've missed something. It's the "last" one. I can only try it 2 or 3 times without having to stop before my brain gives up. Hmmm... this doesn't suit the rest of the game really. Which I still love mind!

I ought to go back to this someday and go on a grand Moon hunt - there's so many little moments I'll have no doubt missed by virtue of the game's design.

The only Moon I haven't got. How many tries did it take you?
