Now that I've done both the big "endings", I'm happy to put the rest of the moons in the same category as collecting all of Breath of the Wild's Koroks. I'll dip in and play a little any time I have the urge to spend more time in that world, and I like knowing I'm not quite done.

I reckon the game design is such that you'll have experienced all of those moments, you just haven't seen all the (very) small variations in them.

That's a fair assessment as there are similar Moons going from Kingdom to Kingdom. I'm hoping I've missed bigger secrets along the lines of that T-Rex motorbike chase in New Donk.

I think I need to go back to this. I've done the 500 Moons challenge but clearly there's some stuff I've missed. Also Luigi's Balloon mode was pretty great if I remember correctly.

That chase is absolutely phenomenal, one of the highlights of my quest for 500 moons this month.

I still need to do the Darker side of the moon, but when I go back to do it I might even play the whole game again

Nobody would blame you, it's such a blinding game and it's making me very happy to see conversation on it revived.

It's been so long now... I'm less and less convinced that I've got everything (except the last one). If I was going to give the game one bit of criticism, it's that it doesn't always make the totals so clear. Ah, maybe I'll check later.

Speaking of Luigi's Balloon Hunt, is it just random balloons that you have to hunt or can you set up balloons for people on your friend list to find? It'd be fun to have a GNamer Balloon Hunt or something along those lines.

It's all balloons set up by other players and vice versa. Each balloon has a cost and reward to find it and a set time based on how quick the player originally hid it. For the time I played it was easy to get caught up and keep going for balloon after balloon.

Ah, so you can't give someone a code and have them challenge your balloon or anything then?

Yeah you can do that I think, I should have mentioned that Friends balloons take priority over others in the list as well, it's genuinely good stuff.

Might be an idea to run a wee balloon hunt competition then on here, perhaps?

I'd be up for it, is anyone on the forum one of those crazy people that can chain 20 jumps together because they'd win it if so.

Nah, I never got ridonkulous launch-myself-across-a-level good.

I don't think this requires a steady online connection, so even on my mobile data I should be able to play!
Let's just all hide/find balloons on one kingdom, and move kingdom each week or each month or something.

Well I assume there's some of my previously hidden balloons already in the game but I'll boot it up later and hide one in the first kingdom.

No! I could never bloody do that. Ever. I think I did once as it was required to get one of the racing-a-guy moons, but I couldn't work out the combination of things. Maybe because one of the buttons was SHAKING THE CONTROLLER which is still a gripe I have about this otherwise-wonderful game

Aye, not a fan about the forced motion control usage for some the advanced movement options. A small blemish, like you said.

Odyssey is on my radar of games to pick up - are there motion control bits in this? Asking as a Lite owner.

I think you can easily get through the whole base game without it, but there's the odd Moon that might be beyond your reach without jiggling your Switch about.

There was one where you had to trigger the Bullet Bill's speedy boost move by shaking the controller, but aye, definitely not essential for beating the game!

Even in handheld, they only take a little jolt of the wrists, its never precise movements.

Basically if you were fine with the Galaxies you'll be fine with this, I'd think, handheld or no.
