For those that didn't see it live here's the demo of the Salmon Run mode.

Today's stream kicked off with a Spla2n singleplayer demo which made it look the tits. Lots of levels, lots of weapons, lots of replayability.

The Spla2n tournament had some really cringey team intros but it was a really good way of showing off the game's improved ranked modes - especially tower control which I never really liked because it was so easy for the enemy to snowball to victory, with the checkpoint system it should be much easier to turn the tables. I want this game yesterday.

There's a Splatoon 2 direct coming on the 6th! Sounds like it'll be going over some more details about the game but - I may be being really naive here- I think they'll put on another testfire event.
A crazy notion doomed to never happen, but I want to play this game again before it comes out.

I think another testfire is a really good shout, especially considering how close the testpunch was to ARMS' launch. I feel a tit for not mentioning it when we were talking about why another direct is coming.

A thing I tweeted about today: I realised Dunkirk and Spla2n are out the same day. Imagine watching a super serious WWII film then shooting lots of squid kids with colourful ink. What a weirdly dissonant day of shooting that will be!I think I'm gonna try to do it . . .

They certainly don't smell fresh, that's for sure. A salmon Rush would be great but I don't know about having a testfire without the main online play, so we'll either get both or just Regular ol' testfire with different maps and weapon sets probably.

I hope we do get another Testfire - I'm actually on the fence about buying this simply down to the size of my backlog, but a Testfire would sell me on this considering I missed out on the first one.

I would happily Testfire at convenient times. Who knows - it might even persuade me to pick up the game at some point.

I cant believe not everyone is getting this, super hyped to dive back in to Splatoon.

I do love co-operative multiplayers. Monster Hunter has eaten hundreds of hours of my life, and the Mass Effect 3/ Andromeda stuff was a blast as well. And obviously, everything like that is better with mates.

Team based competitive games (Splatoon, Overwatch if you're lame, MOBAs if you're even lamer) do a good job of providing that feeling combined with the competitive rush, so I'm all about them.

I knew something was coming but this is surprising anyway, the two new squidivas/ Cephalopop stars are pretty neat too.

Ice creams have kept me alive on many a summer's day. They're also far superior deserts; cakes, unless served in bourgeois restaurant non-portions, are far too filling post meal. (Unless you're at a bourgeois establishment whose portions are wafer thin). Cakes are cool when someone's baked one and its being shared amongst a group of people, but they're effort to make and not something I'm going to chow on without others around.

Honestly torn between the two, especially when in some cases it's a thing you can combine to get the best of both. Super excited to take part in this early Splatfest & those new weapons they teased looked ace!

Right, I'm off that Saturday and ready to go for a solid Splatting session. Let's a-go.

I'm still dead hyped about this game, and the tidbits, I learned were great.

• The app looks good enough, I'll probably us it a fair bit and even pick up the headest.
  
• You can join friends in a splatfest! This is a good and necessary change - Splatfests often saw the highest player turnout, but you even though all your mates were online for once you couldn't squad up
  
• The new hosts look great, and I didn't think anyone could replace the Squid Sisters. I really want a Marina Amiibo now. I love the fact that there's a canonically good Octoling.
  
• Holding charge on a sniper sounds like it will make them much more fun to play as, and much more annoying to play against.
