Might be necessary to go for a Premier Inn at this stage, which is a shame as having a whole place to ourselves would avoid having a cramped hotel room situation like last time.

One last shot though - thoughts on this place here?

It's central enough that we could probably all either get a bus or a taxi out there together, and it looks properly lovely. Works out pretty cheap too again - £65 at most if there's only 6 of us going.

I'll check that out as soon as I can tomorrow morning. In the meantime, stickied.

Bad news, I'm afraid (which I can now give in more than 140 characters! ). The owner of the house let our application lapse. If she's not that worried about getting our money, I'm not going to try to deal with her again. I suggest we start looking at Premier Inns and the like as quickly as we can.

Ahh that's a shame but being in the premier Inn again isn't so bad, I just hope I don't end up on a different floor from everyone else this time.

That's a shame, AirBnB would have been more sociable and cheaper.
We did have fun at the premier inn last time, though, and with the Switch we'll have even less need for a TV to sit around. We could even Mario Kart in a quiet corner of a bar or coffee shop!

One thing: Can someone post up a link to the hotel just to make sure I book the right one?

Heads up gang - the Premier Inn is close to fully booked. I attempted to book a Twin Room, but they could only offer me an accessibility Twin room rather than a standard Twin... I'd jump on your bookings ASAP or we may end up in different hotels.

Righto! That's my room all booked & it's actually worked out cheaper than last time.

I've booked a twin room for myself and Muss. Lil' Ricey Boy himself, the Andrew-Man, might be cheekily sneaking into our room as well. We get a double bed and a sofa bed, and we're all big boys, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

It works out well, as it means I can deal with the hotel on May's paycheck and just worry about transport for now.

WHAT?! I didn't see that option when booking mine, that would've helped a fair bit. That aside what times are everyone thinking of arriving at?

Ack it's not looking good for me, noticed the pay on the day thing and thought it was great but I'm already short on cash even before payday having to pay for a stag do the week after this so unless I'm not hit too hard by bills at the end of the month then I'll most likely be out. Gonna keep an eye on it though, definitely don't wanna miss out.

Again, it is literally one night so I'm sure even if you didn't get a room someone would let you crash on a floor or a sofa, or top and tale with them.
