Open to suggestions on that score. I liked colonising the hotel last time, though this time I will definitely be bringing a plug adapter...

If the B&B is the cheaper option I say we go with that unless we want tour be as central as possible again.

My calender is starting to get quite busy, and amongst other holidays I've planned, work, retirements and stag dos, I'll be honest: I don't think I can do this meetup in May anymore. I might try and book travel if I can get train tickets for cheap enough, just in case I find myself free on that weekend, but what I'm saying is that you shouldn't try and accomodate me in Newcastle if it makes things more difficult for others. Maybe it doesn't though.

I'm fairly sure we can all make the same weekend, so we'll go ahead as planned, hoping for the best but expecting the worst I guess. Would be cash if you did turn up, and even if you hadn't booked properly I'm sure nobody would object to you having a bed if we went for an air B&B type deal, or even a sofa/ half a bed in someone's hotel room.

Speaking of, we should choose accommodation and get booking sooner rather than later. Does anyone have experience booking a flat/ house type deal, or would everyone rather we just do a travelodge like last time? Same one? Elsewhere? Let's get it sorted!

I'm up for an AirB'n'B (like a poor Geography student, I hope I put the capitals in the right places (now that's a dad joke, Jimbob )) but have no experience booking one.

Nevs heard of airbn bn before, but I just searched up accommodation for ten people and This came up. Looks good, seems affordable, by a bus stop, free wifi. Only downside is there are only 5 beds, but I'll be taking a sofa or the floor anyway so whatevs trevs.

I'd be happy sharing/ sofa/ floor/ top and toes, so something like that wouldn't be a killer for me. And there might be other, better ones if we keep looking.

Isn't there 7 of you going from the sign up thing, if Cappa can't go that's now 6 people, then if Muss is for some reason is taking a Sofa that leaves 5 of you with 5 beds.

I genuinely wanted to come, but I'm now 100% pulling out - I'm now going abroad a few days later. Maybe in the future!

You say that Mas, but you can book flights from Bristol for £40 each way.

That's what we were going to do last year but we never did.

Aye same here, also been having some minor back/shoulder issues recently so a floor/couch wouldn't be wise.

I can floor it if I bring a little mat to lie on.

Well it sounds like there are only 7 guaranteed people, so we have a few more options. For example, here's a place with six rooms so worst case scenario only one person would have to sofa/ floor it. Also, I looked at check-in friday and check-out monday, which came to £529. That'll be less than £100 per person and give us a lot of freedom.

I think we should pick a location like this and look at booking it soonish. Then we're sorted, we're paying much less than if we went for a hotel and we've got options.

Also agreed! Though I assume someone would have to be there on the Friday to check us in or is it all done individually when we arrive?

I'm planning to book the whole week off, or if that doesn't work quit my job, so I'll probably be there on the Friday if we go for this.
