I haven't proceeded much from when I last updated, been busy and also completed Skyward Sword, finally.
Well, I think after I have completed/failed Diamond, ill join in on the video scene. I just haven't had the drive to play recently. This will be rectified in the coming weeks!
I am drawing up some future, non-pokemon challenges, expect to hear about them in the coming months!
Loving the updates Jay, they're always fun to read. Also, I hope my Hitmonlee self serves you well.
I've also got an update myself to make for this. Not much of one since I've been training my Staravia up to a Staraptor so it'll learn Brave Bird and kick some serious backside. But I also caught myself Zero Jones the Magikarp (soon to be a certain awesome giant blue water serpent) yesterday. I also have a plan for folks right now, I'm about to take a trip to the nickname rater to change a large portion of names and first dibs wioll get you nicknamed as one! The Pokemon up for naming are as follows. Togepi, Pachirisu, Buneary, Staraptor, Graveler, Crobat, and Shellos.

Reserving Crobat! Who'd have thought that one of the most annoying and worthless monsters in the game would evolve into an absolute badass with 130 base speed?
Right, Crobat is now Balladeer. I wonder what I'll do if I find a wild Sneasel when I go to the snow area though. Well knowing my luck I'll get a Machoke and have hell against Cynthia who I'm hoping to disembowel with either a Weavile or a Mamoswine if I get lucky.
Oh, and a question regarding the rules. Would it be alright if I were to trade my Graveller and a Haunter to another DS game and then trade them right back so I can get Golem and Gengar? I would very much like both on my team and I have two DS systems to do it with if it isn't against the rules.
Eheheheh, you know that part earlier about the update about getting a new mon and training my Staravia to Staraptor and so on? Well, um, I just booted my DS up and found something nasty. See, I forgot to save before turning it off, so, well, I've lost over six hours worth of play time and Zero Jones. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!!!!

I don't see why not. So long as you caught the Graveler and Haunter through Nuzlocke rules, I'd not be against you trading them over and right back again. It's like using an evolutionary stone in my eyes, just a unique way to evolve your Pokemon.

We begin our hunt for legendaries in the Power Plant. Aside from a few trick Electrodes catching me unawares, the path to this place's master went without a hitch.
Thunderbirds are go.!
Zapdos didn't put up much of a fight. A combined effort by Stu the Arcanine and Vidofnir the Jolteon seen off the thunder bird.
Done and done, on to the next one!
He resides in the icy Seafoam Islands. Gee, I wonder what type he'll be?
On our way to the next legend needing put down, we found S. Light the Seel! Boxed.
It's the ice bird, Articuno!
He didn't stand a chance. Stu and Vidofnir once again rose to the challenge and seen off Articuno.
I forgot to capture him fainting, but here's his disappearance from his roost instead to compensate.
Double F joins the box, just south of Pallet. I also remember Balladeer's suggestion previous update and...
Xenos is renamed to Phillips the Second!
On Cinnabar, I decided my fossilised friend would be Balladactl the Aerodactyl! He's boxed for now, but he's in the position of first reserve for now.
Fuck. This. Place. Seriously, the random encounter rate here is ridiculous. Like, every few steps ridiculous. It took all of my willpower not to pop a Repel here, but I stuck to the rules in the end.
We grabbed the key to the gym, as well as reading a lot on some cloned legend. Interesting...
Again some audio desync issues, I apologise.
After the gym, we're accosted by Bill, who asks to go to the Sevii Islands with him. Well, I sure could use a break, it'd be nice to relax and just enjoy some island lif-
Well shit.
Next time: Sevii Island japes, and the mysteries of Viridian Gym!
For Vidofnir's Table: Legendaries kiled + 2, badges acquired +1.

It's entirely possible! We've got the Viridian Gym coming up, there's another rival battle before Victory Road... I'd say those are the two main areas where we could lose someone, so Balladactl (screw the character limit) may indeed soar once more.

Athun, the Pashirisu can have my name. Also, I would say no to the evolution of graveler and haunter, It makes the game easier, that is my only reasoning.
Also Jay, its up to you to beat the league and be the first Victor! No pressure .

Well, I finally have an update. I have finally faced the absolute terrors of the sixth gym and master of Steel types. But before that I went out to a route I had never caught anything on and tested my luck, which resulted in me encountering and catching Jay the Machop. He shall likely play a important role in the next gym which features Ice types galore.
As for the gym battle. I held off of this one for so long because I wasn't confident, and it's just as well. First up was Graveler versus his Magnaton, I had planned on spamming Earthquake for a bit but I had forgotten about a certain move Magnaton can learn. That is Flash Canon, which is both super effective against Graveler but also hits it in the special attack area which is his weakness, so he dropped without even getting a move off!
I sent in Buster II (Jolteon) as I then realised I had stupidly left literally the entire rest of my current team weak to electric types and didn't want to risk my unnamed Starapter getting killed if it didn't KO Magnaton in one shot. So, Buster II let off a mighty Thunderbolt attack and took him down to red HP, and Magnaton let off a TRi-Attack.
Which froze Buster II.
I frantically dug around in my bag and found I had a Full Heal, so I used it while the gym leader used a Potion to heal Magnaton. Two turns later Magnaton was down!
To that he replied with a Steelix. I promptly switched in Torrent (Empoleon) to use Surf on it. Unfortunately Steelix knew Earthquake, but thankfully it was nowehere near strong enough to KO Torrent, so he lived to use Surf which thankfully was strong enough to KO Steelix.
And so I came to his last and toughest Pokemon. Bastiodon. I switched to Zero Jones fearing another Earthquake, instead he used Iron defense which made me decide to send out STaraptor. He used Iron Defense again, and this thankfully is the reason Staraptor lived the battle. Staraptor used Close Combat on Bastiodon, which took him down to almost half his HP, to which he replied with Metal Burst which gave me a panic attack fearing the worst. Thankfully Staraptor survived and I sent out Joltyeon who cleaned up with Thunderbolt.
So, Six badges are now mine and three Pokemon have passed on. And so the adventure continue to Snow land.
And consider Pachirisu named Vidofnir.

Time for an update! Finally!
So, just to remind those of you how far I have come...
I have 7 badges and was training to reach level 45 in order to take on Team Galactic at spear pillar. I lost my starter pokemon waaay back at Eterna city, and have since lost a few more important members such as Jaster the Graveler and Darunia the Ponyta.
However, my team still packs plenty of punch with an Ambipom (Balladeer) Sneasel (Zero) and Crobat (Masofdas). While also containing utility and defensive bulk with Bronzong (Stu) and Gastrodon (Zerojones). I realize that Zerosuitsamus never actually comes online so a name change is likely on the cards for Sneasel.
So! Without further grinding I rock climb my way up Spear Pillar, beating many grunts and finally finding myself with Barry in a double battle!
Using Zerojones I wipe out the opposing Bronzor and Barry's Munchlax which does nothing but Stockpile with Surf. Barry then brings in Staraptor which destroys Mars Purugly while Zerojones makes short work of Jupiter's Skuntank with Mud Bomb. Barry heals my pokemon after the battle and I face Cyrus!
Opening with Honchkrow, I realise this battle will be a tough one. However Zerojones takes away his speed advantage with a well placed body slam, scoring a paralysis. I then use this to full effect, using Surf to finish of the Crow.
Against Weavile I have a tougher time. Stu luckily manages to avoid his critical hits coming from X-Scissor and Night Slash while inducing Sleep with Hypnosis. Zero comes in against his evolved counterpart and lands a fatal Brick Break which is x4 super effective!
Crobat is sent in as a last resort, however Zero surprises me with an Avalanche that fells the bat in a single hit after shrugging off a cross poison attack.
Cyrus then flees in bitter resentment, leaving me to cleanup his Diagla. After inducing sleep and confusion with Stu while taking a Roar of Time to the face, I switch to Zero as I knew Diagla was a dragon. However I fail to take account that he is also part steel as Avalanche doesn't even leave a scratch. Balladeer comes in and manages to get a Nasty plot away before passing the boost on to Zerojones. After taking some damage I release a boosted mud bomb which fells the creator of time.
So I managed to navigate a difficult section of the game taking no casualties hooraaaay!
Next up - Gym number 8.

Creator of Nasty Plots! Dispenser of Double hits!
Well, I think I have updated My, Athun and Jay's progress correctly on the first page, but if either of you see a mistake in the numbers then give me a bell.

Aw yeah, staying up late last night was totally worth it. I bagged myself a Meditite, a Sneasel, and a Swinub! Cynthia, you won't know what hit you between Weavile and Mamoswine!
After this the rest of the game should be fairly easy outside a couple of the E4 members and maybe Cyrus in the Distortion World (and maybe Giratina). Now for some grinding to evolve that Meditite in to a Medicham so I can get my next badge and move on.

Next post: Athrun's team are wiped out apart from his underlevelled Meditite...
Subject: Re: The Gnamer Nuzlocke Challenge Sun 21 Apr 2013, 14:38
Funny thing that, because I was really sleepy when I caught those Pokemon and forgot I knocked out the wild Meditie instead of catching it because of the hail in route 216.
That said, that gym. That bloody Gym. So much cheating went on in there by the AI. So much. So, here's how the battle went. I went in packing my super Jolteon Buster II wonder maker, a level 41 Bronzong I caught ages ago and never thought I'd use, Birdy the super Staraptor, Zero Jones the Gyarados, Balladeer the Crobat, and Torrent the Empoleon.
So, the battle. I started with Buster II the Jolteon and one shot her sorry Sneasel which prompted her to send out Mamoswine. To that I replied with sending out Zero Jones which simultaniously dodged Earthquake and cut its attack stat. Aqua Tail proceeded to one hit KO that too. And this, alas, is the end of the nice part of the bloody battle that took place.
So, her next Pokemon was Froslass. No problem I think and switch in my Bronzong. Wrong, it started using Double Team. After she used it three more times while I missed I switched in Torrent planning to stall her Froslass out. And this is where the cheating began. Because Torrent resisted every move Froslass clearly had she maxed her evasivness and started spamming Shadowball. Now as you may or may not know Shadow Ball has a small chance to drop your Special Defence stat every time it hits. So what happens? It starts constantly dropping my special defence, I've seen damn Jirachi's use Flinch abuse worse than that, and that's saying something.
I eventually withdrew Torrent as he was about to be killed and sent back in Bronzong which started tanking the Shadowballs while I healed Empoleon while planning on stalling it until it ran out of Shadowball. Thankfully that ended up not being necessary because I killed her with a few lucky hitting Surfs first.
Next up her final Pokemon, Abonisnow. Now this I thought was going to be easy, I would send in Bronzong and Gyro Ball it a few times and everything would be happy. Unfortunately this was not the case. So, the duel. Bronzong thank to Double Team had lost all but one PP of Gyro Ball which did neglible damage, so I sent in what I thought would be a safe switch with Torrent, after all he resists Ice and takes neutral from Grass so he tanked a Wooden Hammer well. Unfortunately the sodding Abomisnow knew Focus Blast, which landed and killed Torrent.
So, very unhappy I sent back in Bronzong and prepared to clean this match up with a very long and drawn out fight. Alas this is where even more cheating came in to play. Focus Blast is known sometimes jokingly as Focus Miss because of its poor accuracy and is one of the reasons I often don't use the move in competitive matches. But no, it landing every single time was not the only cheating thing, it like Shadowball has a small chance to lower special defence. So, it does this after the fourth or so hit after I had spammed Extransensory to whittle down the foes HP. However going by the damage Bronzong I thought could still tank it.
Nope. Because the next one that landed was a critical hit, which killed Bronzong. Yeah, another dead Pokemon in one fight, one fight I had prepared for so much too. Thankfully by this point the Abomisnow was almost dead, and an Ice Fang from Zero Jones finally brought the long and horrible battle to a close.
Status now: Another badge and two more dead Pokemon.
On to the conclusion of Team Galactic with the hideout and treck up to the Spear Pillar.

That is rough rough going there Athrun! I had a similar issue with Koga spamming Minimise, but I lucked out and took him out before that became too much of an issue.
I'll try and put out another update tonight!
