Thanks for the words of encouragement about the sixth gym guys. Small update now, I disemboweled Team galactic HQ last night with minor trouble and am now supposed to climb Mount Coronet to stop them. I shall be first training some more as I feel my team is inadequate to take on Cyrus in the Distortion World as while he was easy enough to beat last night he will be going up about five levels which will cause some problems, not to mention his Murkorw and Sneasel will be evolving before the final clash.

Not a big update seeing as this is from a while ago and I forgot most of what happened, also I didnt cut the bottom of the screenshots off this time because I'm lazy
Spoiler:
Well you've clearly never fought a fire Pokemon before then
Oh great, this guy again. He's probably looking for that old Pokeball making guy, I refuse to just sit back and let him continue taking advantage of helpless old men.
With that taken care of, it's time to head through the forest.
Oh great that looks like such a useful new member of the team, I'm so glad I agreed to babysit that egg.
I think that name goes perfect with how soft, squishy and useless it looks.
Not long after that I bump into a fat guy banging his head against a tree.
Well thats completely normal
Hopefully that'll make him slightly less useless
A lost helpless girl who needs my help? I am so in.
... ... God damn it Flump.

Great updates guys. I'm not familiar with Diamond and Pearl Athrun, how close are you to the end?
Speaking of close to the end, it's UPDATE TIME.
Spoiler:
Before advancing forward to Victory Road, I decided to spend a lot of time at the Game Corner. After selling lots of things, buying lots of coins and playing a lot of slots, I managed to pick up a couple of hold items for the gang, namely a Mystic Water and a Charcoal, plus some TMs to sweeten the movesets, such as Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam and Flamethrower.
With that, we begin by taking on assface supreme, Locke, once again.
After he was dealt with, we progress through the Indigo League airport security check and customs.
We happen upon this fella surfing towards Victory Road.
And here's the place itself. This was a pretty easy place to traverse, with the only real issues being annoyance towards the ridiculous encounter rate and having to use a couple of Ethers to keep on moving onwards. After dispatching a legion of Cooltrainers, we reached the other side.
Potentially the last Pokemon caught of this run.
And we've made it. Before the Elite Four, let's have a run down of the heroic warriors who'll be taking on the Pokemon League challenge.

Nearish to the end. I've just got to finish the Team Galactic story and take out the Lake legendary trio and then I'll be on to the final gym and the Elite Four shortly after that. That said I'll probably be a while since I burned myself out with all the exp grinding I did to get my team up to scratch since the VS Seeker is impractical to use on the routes leading to the seventh gym.
Also good luck on your Elite Four run. Hope you do well.

You might see off the bat that there's a lot of spoiler boxes, so I must have won, right? Not the case. Yes, there's a spoiler box corresponding to each Elite Four battle, one for the champion and one for a final message, but are all of them filled with videos? The last three spoiler boxes could be placeholders just filled with depressed text - until you click on each spoiler box in turn, you won't know when, or indeed if, I failed in the Elite Four. I hope this is a valid enough way to create some sense of mystery to the Pokemon League.
I put a considerable amount of effort into the video(s) I uploaded, including annotations throughout and unique endings that I think you'll enjoy to them as well. I understand there's a lot of viewing here, but I'd appreciate a watch.
So without further ado, let's go.
Spoiler:
We begin with the ice master, Lorelei.
Spoiler:
Really pleased with how that went. Vidofnir kicked ass there! Next up, fighting master, Bruno.
Spoiler:
Sad to lose Jaster there. I was banking on his Shadow Ball to make Agatha a lot easier. Without that, I'm faced with a real challenge as I have nothing to counter her. This increases the difficulty of this battle by a lot. Third, Agatha, master of ghosts.
Spoiler:
Devasted to lose Vidofnir here. I was really hoping to have him to take out Lance's, and if I got there Locke's, Gyarados as now without him I had nothing to counter a Gyarados. Defeat loomed... Last of the Elite Four, Lance, king of dragons.
Spoiler:
I was so concerned when I saw Athrun utterly obliterated by Gyarados. I thought that was my run over there, but somehow, someway, we prevailed. However, with only three Pokemon going up against the might of the champion, how could I achieve victory? It's time to face the champion.
Spoiler:
I...I did it. I couldn't believe it. Despite my team being all but vanquished, I did it. Honestly, I thought it was all over facing that Alakazam. Even then I couldn't believe I took out Gyarados. Despite the type advantage I was still disbelieving that I'd be able to beat Arcanine. But I did it.
Thanks so much for following my run guys, it's been a blast to make. I hope that's come through in my videos, especially these final five as I put a ton of work into them. I hope I at least managed to raise a smile from you with my goofy endings to each video. So, once again, thanks for watching/reading.
PS. Bonus points to any who can name the ending music I used in the death montages at the end of each video.

Congrats on winning Jay, it really looked like you were finished after Lance with some of your Pokemon out for the count. An epic finish for an epic run.
Also after defeating Cyrus I think it's time for an update.
So, the final part of the Team Galactic storyline. Cyrus has taken the red chain he created after obtaining the three Lake Pokemon to the top of Mount Coronet to do...something. And so I set off toe stop whatever he has planned. I travel to the top of the vast mountain crushing all the grunts who stand in my way and eventually arrive at the Spear Pillar. It is here we find Cyrus doing something with the two female Commanders blocking the way.
They engage me in a battle, but before it can be started my rival rushes up and starts a team battle with the two. After a lot of setting up and slow turns I sweep them with Zero Jones the Gyarados. With them dealt with we return our attention to Cyrus, who then proclaims that the world is incomplete and that he will summon Palkia the ruler of Space and Dialga the ruler of Time to create a new world while destroying this one. It is then as time and space start distorting that a new presence starts to build up, a shadow on the ground wells up and appears before Cyrus. Cyrus blathers about not letting anything stand in his way before the shadow lets out a cry and grabs him, disappearing in to some portal with him.
At this point Cynthia arrives and we depart in to the portal before it distorts and destroys the world. We make our way down to the bottom where the Pokemon presumably dwels, and it is at the bottom we finally face off with Cyrus. Cyrus says some typical psychopathic villain type things and the battle starts.
So, I lead with Zero Jones the Gyarados and he leads with a Houndoom. Cool, I think, and decide to set up on him. A huge mistake as it turns out because it promptly used Thunder Fang on Gyarados wiping out just over half his HP. I immediately use Aqua Tail and eliminate it the next turn. He then sends out Weavile, and this thing was indeed vile. I restore my HP and start to try setting up while his Weavile uses Night Slash twice and then starts using Ice Punch. No big deal think and continue setting up using Dragon Dance. Unfortunately after one Ice Punch connected my HP fell and fell and went to zero. A critical hit!
This is what I don't get, this is the second time I have cut my foes attack with Intimidate and their attacks if doubled wouldn't KO me. Yet they do. Really frustrating frankly, this is yet another Pokemon killed in this exact fashion.
So, I send out Buster II the Jolteon and kill Weavile with two Thunderbolts. He then sends out Honchkrow and Crobat, Crobat actually survived one Thunderbolt but died the next turn. So much for the leader of Team Galactic eh.
All is not over however, because Giratina is angry and needs to be defeated to calm it. And with that I face off with my first Legendary Pokemon. This battle was honestly anticlimactic, I just had Buster II use Shadow Ball twice and it was over. But be that as it may this battle did leave a scar on my team.
A scar I am currently fixing by catching another Magikarp I have called Zero Jones and am now raising!
Anyway, the status now is 7 Gym badges, 6 fallen Pokemon, and 1 defeated Legendary Pokemon. I shall be raising my levels a bit more and then facing off against Volkner, the final Gym Leader.

Well, tables are now updated the :king: face will now represent successfully defeating the league. The updates have been great guys, cant wait to read the next batch.
In my own challenge though things have taken a massive turn for the worse. On the way to the last city in Diamond there is a row of fisherman. One battle involved a Gyarados whose aqua tail attack critically killed two members of my squad. Zerojones and Stu.
Zerojones, who was a Gastrodon, would have been a massive asset in the electric gym battle being part ground type. I am now left with three members who are battle worthy. So I am going to try to train up some reserve pokemon, and give it my best shot from there.

That is SO unlucky. I really dislike Gyarados, facing one without an electric Pokemon can be a run ender.

I arrive at Goldenrod City and after a few minutes of looking around I score myself a free Bike I can already tell things are going to go well here. Next stop: the flower shop.
Oh really? got anything I can water it with?
What? why not?
Um... ok then *backs away slowly*
Next I head up to Route 35 to train my Pokemon up a bit, Candyfloss evolves and I catch myself a Drowzee which I name Puddi because it's colour reminds me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-N_mW3WakU
With all my pokemon between level 15 and 20, it's time for my next gym battle.
Every time I have ever played the Gold and Silver games (which is a lot) I have never once managed to defeat this gym leader on my first try. This could be the end for me already and if not I'm fully expecting to lose at least 1 Pokemon. I gave Rock Smash to every Pokemon that could learn it and hoped that one fighting move would be enough.
Spoiler:
I start the fight with my level 15 Candyfloss and defeat the Clefairy with little effort.
Miltank almost KOs Candyfloss in one hit though forcing me to switch out but not before paralyzing it first.
Thanks to the paralyzing PopRocks manages to deal heavy damage to it without dying but we're still taking hits pretty hard too. can we finish it off though?
Yes we can! 3 gym leaders down, 0 deaths. Nothing can stop us.

Whitney is nowhere near as bad in the remakes of Gold/Silver. I cant put my finger on why since Miltank still has access to Milk drink and Rollout. Well done on beating the third gym nevertheless!

Whitney was harder for me when I last played Heart Gold. She kept spamming Stomp which kept flinching my Pokemon. Either way congrats in getting past her.

Update time! I figure a double post is allowable because if this thread doesn't get bumped nobody's going to know I updated.
Anyway, progress report. I finally finished training my Gastrodon for the Sunnyshore Gym, but before I went there I took a tour around Sinnoh and killed all three of the Legendary Lake Spirits, Uxie, Azelf, and Mespirit.
Then it was time for the gym challenge. Well, honestly challenge is the wrong word, I wiped the floor with the entire gym with Gastrodon, it was far more effective than I had thought it would be. So I crushed the gym trainers and made my way to Volkner the leader. I started the challenge with a refreshed Gastrodon and he started with a Jolteon that used Iron Tail which lowered my defense stat before it found itself one shoted by Mud Bomb. Next up he was going to take no prisoners as he sent out his Electivire.
So, Mud Bomb took it down to red HP, and he used a weak physical attack (I've forgotten what though). The next turn had me scared though as he unleashed a move I had no idea his Electivire had, Giga Impact. I knew that if this went critical then my Gastrodon was gone. Thankfully it didn't and I took him out with Surf.
Up next was Luxray which after a bit of back and forthing with HP recovering I killed. And finally came Raichu which was a quick KO.
With the gyms all wrapped up I went to the beach to get my HM Waterfall from Jasmine who had some odd remarks about seeing me and my rival together making her feel warm before giving me the HM and moving on. And that is where I left things for today, next up is Victory Road and then finally the Elite Four, but before I challenge them I will be raising a Sneasel which I hope to evolve and have ready for the battle with Cynthia.
The TLDR version; I now have all eight gym badges and have killed four Legendary Pokemon, and no new deaths to report.

Whee! Congratuations. Now watch as your frail Weavile is picked off before it ever reaches Garchomp.
Subject: Re: The Gnamer Nuzlocke Challenge Wed 15 May 2013 - 9:49
Hopefully Weavile won't have to fight until Cynthia, if all goes well I plan to use it to set up on her Spiritomb and sweep her team with ease.

Good going Athun! I think I will give up on my diamond run due to having no pokemon suitable to take on Volkner. To make up for this forfeit I will start a run on emerald, taking Jay's idea of using videos.
I will update the tables, good luck on your road to the Pokemon league!

Let's get another victor, Athrun.
Glad to hear it Vidofnir, I look forward to watching!
With exams finished and summer approaching, I may do another Nuzlocke, with live commentated videos perhaps...
