| I'm not normally one for those types of discussions either, although I will take part if I see some chat like that going on. My main concern is turning a thread into something resembling a CIA top-secret document. |

| Just seen a TV ad (on Film Four) for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle - only £42.99 from Sainsbury's?! My question is this: who would have made the ad - Nintendo, Ubisoft, or Sainsbury's? |

| If proof were needed that the Switch was worth every damn penny . . . That's 400 hours right there. And at the start of the year, we were wondering if the Switch had any games . . . On top of those 5 behemoths, I have 16 other played games on the machine (including eShop stuff I was sent to review.) And I spent most of the last two months bemoaning the fact I didn't have anywhere near enough time to game! |

| As I said on Twitter, if I'd had the chance to play that much... In other news, the Switch is getting all the Mega Man games. Can't say that I'm terribly up for any of that - maybe Mega Man 11 - but it's a definite sign that Capcom are backing the Switch. So that's a good thing, I would say. |

| I completely agree. No interest in MM, every interest in what Capcom's next game might be. (So long as it's Okami HD Portable or Ace Attorney.) |

| I held off getting the Legacy Collection, but I think I'm going to get it when it comes onto the Switch. That's ace news.
Do we know what the robot masters in Mega Man 11 are going to be called yet? If not, I suggest wild speculation. |

| I'm excited about Mega Man X collection but nothing else.
On some news which may relate to VC as Nintendo themselves (or an outside team for them) are bringing four Wii games Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Punch Out and New Super Mario to the Nvidia Shield (which the Switch is based off) in remastered form but only for China at the moment.
The other thing is unless the remote that comes with the TV Version has motion controls, then Shield doesn't have motion controls meaning I can almost play SMG in 1080p with a proper controller.
Me and a lot of people are hoping due to the relationship between the Shield and Switch this is a test bed for the Switches future, I can see them however not making these VC games but due to them being remastered and with likely new control schemes sold as remasters instead, which maybe Nintendo can charge more of premium for.

| Real reason I didn't get Ultra Street Fighter II revealed! Twelve Street Fighter games coming to Switch in one package next year. I'm well up for this - plenty of SF games in there I haven't even played. |

| It's all about Alpha 2, which hasn't got online play Also first time SF3 and 2nd Impact have been on anything that isn't a Dreamcast or an Arcade machine. |

| Bit of a slap in the face to those who did buy it, though. Or, y'know, a dragon punch in the face or something... I'm not good at Street Fighter jokes. |

| As both a big Mega Man and Street Fighter fan, I'm buzzing about the news that we're getting pretty much every game from both series! I'm well up for MM11 too - as much as the art style reminded me a bit too much of Mighty No. 9, I'm confident the game itself will be a good 'un. |

I thought it looked a lot like Mighty but I've heard it's meant to be a modern take on Mega Man VII. |

| I watched the reveal stream for the game and that's more or less what they said. They had a couple of interviews with the director and lead artist for the game. |

Never been a huge fan of either series but I plan to get both collection because they seem too good to turn down, 2 entire series all on one brilliant console is a mouth watering prospect. |

| Sister has had a go at SMO, but has really taken a shine to Zelda. It's so beautiful to watch her running around Hyrule... and so frustrating to watch her fail to grasp the battle mechanics. |

| Nephews got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas with MK8D. We bought them LEGO Worlds, which I quite like the look of... curse my weakness for LEGO games. Long story short, I got introduced to the Switch's parental controls, something I didn't think would ever happen. Playtime was set at one hour for the boys, at which point my brother-in-law gets an alert on the companion app that the limit has been reached. Then he can decide to put the Switch in Sleep Mode (with an on-screen warning for the player, natch) or let them keep playing. It's nice. |

| In "kids with Switches" news, I was on the bar at work today and saw a kid and his brother playing Mario Kart. Temptation to go over and challenge them was incredibly strong, especially as it was slow going tonight. |

| Still on the "people experiencing the switch" train, my younger cousin was round on Christmas and she was very keen to play on my switch. Her only other means of playing games is her wiiU and her phone. She was utterly inamored by SMO. I let her run around Metro kingdom and she seemed to get the hang of the basics of using cappy pretty quickly. But the big one for though was when I showed her Zelda, she'd never played a Zelda game nor even an open world sandbox do what you like type game. I showed her the basic controls which she brazenly ignored in favour for chasing a fox around most of Hyrule (I didn't bother explaining that it was a different fox and that they despawn), she eventually got one after her 100th or so shot and was utterly thrilled with herself. She also killed a pack of lizalfos which made her even happier. But then she killed a wolf and felt bad because it made that noise wolves make when they die. Eventually she found herself in the coliseum and was attacked by the resident Lynel, which she thought looked weak so she shot it, simultaneously missing her mark and breaking the bow. I then showed her how incredibly cool I am by killing the beast for her. And she was amazed. It was a pretty sweet thing seeing someone genuinely awestruck by what video games can achieve. Especially when that someone has only experienced Mario games and sausage run. I think I sold another switch for Nintendo, and I may have even made a fresh new Legend Of Zelda fan while I was at it. Of course there are downsides: several broken Lynel bows, a savage Lynel crusher dropped into a lake and all my arrows and a substantial portion of my food shot and eaten respectively. But that's what the Load button is for - games really are clever. |

| That is an utterly charming story Sir Duckington. I'm glad she had fun. And I fully agree that there's nothing more fun than seeing someone discover a great game for the first time. My sister's experience is not overly different from your cousin's, in fact! (Except I'm a terrible backseat gamer, and seeing her spend an hour chasing a fox and wasting arrows made my fists clench. ) - Drunkalilly wrote:

You'd have hammered them and they'd never have come back. |
