Maybe I should be giving bitters a bit more of a shot? Once upon a time I couldn't imagine myself being a red wine fan, but that came on rather quickly mid-last year when I got more involved with a pair of wine-loving friends.

which was like those cheap Coke knock-offs in squishy plastic bottles that you could get when I was a kid. Somewhere between 'good' and 'average' on the scale.

Fentimans is lovely. If your only experience of cola were fizzy cola bottle sweets, you'd assume cola tasted like Fentimans.

Can only agree. I wish I saw it more often in shops, is all. Also, haven't drunk alcohol for a week. :affraid:

I got absolutely smashed Friday night; I had a small bottle of Jack Daniels but I drank it by depositing it into a series of beers. Then a couple of pints of cider and two jaegerbombs at the pub. This lead to me hurting myself and my mate by doing wrestling moves outside the kebabby. It also lead to the unusual effect of my finding it impossible to get drunk last night. I was knocking them back; two pitchers of cocktails, some shots of sambucca and a gin and tonic down me and I felt nothing. I was too sober for the nightclub and crept home early.

This isn't a good sign, I it?

Nah - back in first year of uni when I was doing the most of my drinking, my tolerance was pretty damn high. I don't think it's particularly troubling.

I'm more interested in which wrestling moves you were doing on your poor friend.

I was the designated driver last night, so I was on Coke all evening. On the plus side, I was the only one on karaoke who was note-perfect, if I do say so myself.

I was designated driver at the darts on Thursday night. Definitely won't be doing that again; I felt like the only sober man for a mile around.

Well, I had a fun weekend. Thursday and Friday nights I only got around 2 hours sleep because I was up all night practising excite truck. Thus on saturday I drank 11 cans of relentless just to stay awake. Then on Saturday evening I went to Midnight Rezzed - istance, won the excite competition (and some tasty prizes) and in the process drank a shot, a bottle of wine, a gin and tonic, a pint of lager, and an insane majora's mask - themed cocktail. Joe Skrebels put me on a tube before I passed out in a gutter, I went to a flat belonging to a friend of a friend where I drank jaegermeister and rum straight from the bottle and woke up in a bed with five men, only one of whom I knew before that night.

Other fun things: getting from the (wrong) tube station to Loading required Google maps, which in turn required stopping at Ladbrokes and using their wifi and a plug. Three separate Ladbrokes establishments, in fact. It also required climbing a locked gate to cut through a park. When I was getting the tube to my mates flat, I encountered a drunk man throwing the contents of his carrier bag at the police and acquired myself a packet of Bacon, which I cooked up with eggs, beans and toast for everyone the next morning. And I stuffed an entire massive chunk of cake in my mouth which I'm not sure I was even supposed to be eating..

That cake picture is excellent. Those are the eyes of a man who knows he's probably done wrong, but is enjoying the cake too much too care.

Good Lord, Drunka - it all sounds like a fevered dream (albeit a really fun one)!

Dear lord Drunka, you lived more on that weekend than I have in my entire life.

An impressive quantity of vodka, and I still didn't have anything remotely resembling a hangover.
