| Old Mout Pomegranate and Strawberry, a natural combination for a cider if ever I saw one. It was pretty tasty - sort of a summer fruits vibe, but less sweet - but they have better. |

| With an England-ised Irish person, who bemoaned the lack of anything approaching Pimm's in Ireland. I agree: Pimm's is brill. The perfect summer drink, tinged with nostalgia in my case. |

| Cloudy Apple Strongbow. A departure for Jo and I as it's a traditional cider, not a Kopparberg-style alcopop-by-another-name one. It felt milder than some ciders I've had but I did feel very rough on waking. |

| Regular Strongbow isn't a traditional cider. I'm not sure it's even a cider. I think they waved an apple over some fermented jet fuel. Boak.
Hope Cloudy's better anyway. |

| A half of Devil's Backbone (because I used to own a Spanish horror film of that name), a pint of Red Kite (because it's got a mathematical shape in its name) and a pint of Buffalo (because who can resist asking for a buffalo in a bar?). I swear that somewhere out there there are two craft beers that share the same name... I read recently that a brewery opens up in the UK every other day. |

| Raspberry Fanta, and here's how that came to pass. I went to London to visit my friend Dave, and we had a Burger King luncheon (Veggie Bean Burger for me, which was plenty nice). The drinks machine, though, blew my tiny Northern mind. The choice, man, the choice! I selected 'Fanta' and then the world was my oyster: there were about ten flavours and, as I the berry rasp, I went that way. It was alright. |

| Cider, interspersed with strawberry lager. How come normal lager tastes like watered-down human waste products and people still drink it, and fruit-flavoured lager (which tastes lovely) is a niche product? Is this "The Cult Of Manliness", which demands that you enjoy something that tastes at best of little, at worst of filth? |

| My mum used to wax lyrical about the spicy bean burger from burger king. She's not even a veggie! I presume it's still good?
Work recently got Fentimans Curiosity Cola back in so I treated myself to a couple of bottles of that. |

Although I'm not a fan of most lagers, the answer must be along the lines of 'acquired taste'? Assigning it to a 'Cult of Manliness' may be more correct than I initially thought but, seeing as far worse things can come out of said cult, I'm not too fussed about lager enjoyment (or pretense thereof, or wevs) being one of them. - Drunkalilly wrote:

| I'm sure we've had the lager conversation before, and I'm sure it is an acquired taste really. I'm more complaining about the nicheness of fruit beer than anything else. Fruit beer's great. But then surely you'd drink real beers, ales and stouts and the link, if you actually liked the taste of beer... |

| Friut beer is fine, but I'm not having any kind words said about fruit lager (like Carling Citrus or Tennents Lemon T).
~
A pint of Fyne Ales' Jarl, a pint of Inveralmond Ossian Ale, a pint of Windswept Brewing Co's Blonde and Benromach 100° Proof after work. A pretty tame Friday evening, all said. |

| That sounds fair. In my defence, it was Belgian fruit lager, so probably better than the ones you mentioned. Those latter beers sound like the proper stuff, though (in that I haven't heard of any of them). You know what I didn't drink yesterday, what I don't think anyone should have drunk yesterday, but what I've now seen advertised? Rum-flavoured lager. RUM-FLAVOURED LAGER. I MEAN WHY WOULD YOU. |

| Eugh! Eugh!
Eugh!
I like rum (and of course we all like Rum) I like lager (which I'm surprised to be a controversial opinion)
But rum-falovured lager? I mean, I like curry and chocolate, but... you know! |

| Spiced Apple Kopparberg passed my lips last night. It was good - feels like it could start the Christmas season because it reminded me a little of mulled wine, which I only ever have at Christmas. |

| Ah yes, the days of spiced drinks are upon us. I've found a pub near me that does mulled cider over the festive period (the commercial one, anyway, so starting in October); M&S also does spiced red fruit tea, which tastes very Christmassy. Takes a few cups to get into, but comes highly recommended. - Jimbob wrote:

I'd try it. Dark chocolate is meant to work surprisingly well in savouries. I had two cosmopolitans and a boring Kopparberg (standard issue berry-and-lime) last night, incidentally. |

| This is my favourite tipple of the moment, it has a cinnamon kick to it which makes it go down smoother than a standard whiskey would, really tasty stuff. |

| To help Jo celebrate her birthday, we found ourselves in an All Bar One in that there London that there is, and ordering a Lemon Gingerini apiece (limoncello, ginger liqueur, something else). It was delicious, as was the After Seven afterwards (mint, 7-year-old rum, other things). |

I spotted it a rare/posh food shop locally and picked it up because I like my orange drinks. Sadly can't recommend it because Orangina exists. |
